Abstract

This research is motivated by electrical power shutting-down that frequently occurred in Riau province. Low electrical power supply as compared to the need causes lack of supply. Thus, new alternative electrical energy resource such as micro hydro is required. Micro hydro plant is an electrical power generators that uses water to rotate the turbine. This research designs a monitoring system for micro hydro plant. The monitored micro hydro plant employs water turbine that is constructed using bicycle pedal and a water pipe installed on the pedal . The pipe flows the water to energize the turbine. Turbine rotation will generate electricity. The amount of power resulted by generators depends on the number of turbine rotation. The power is used to turn on the lamp. Some sensors are used to monitor generator performance. Current, voltage, and rotation sensors are used to monitor the resulted current, voltage, the turbine rotation respectively. The output power is stored in the battery. The micro Arduino and the ethernet shield capture the monitored data and send it to the computers using Wi-Fi connection. Measurement results show that the output voltage produced by the generator is 10 Volts when the water volume is high. Finally, it is found that the micro hydro generator is able to supply 5 Watts to the load.

Abstract

Background: Spinal cord injuries affect nearly 1 million people every year. More than 90% of all cervical injuries require intubation, most cases also require tracheostomy, and nearly 40% are ventilator dependent. Case presentation: A 27-year-old male patient complained patient came with complaints of weakness in both limbs 13 hours before admission. Initially, the patient was driving a motorbike, and then the patient was involved in an accident with a car. After the incident, the patient also felt a bit short of breath, could not move both his leg and hand, and could not feel defecation or urination. The patient was diagnosed with fracture dislocation of C4-C5. The patient underwent elective decompression stabilization. Patients admitted to ICU, with the majority requiring assisted ventilation. After five days in the ICU, the patient was challenged to be weaned from the ventilator, so the patient performed an early tracheostomy. Conclusion: Patients with cervical injuries require comprehensive care in the intensive care unit, especially in airway management and respiratory support, in addition to addressing the potentially catastrophic multisystem sequelae of nerve damage.

Abstract

Based on PLN standards regulated in Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation No. 20 of 2020, changes in voltage on the network must be maintained within the voltage variation range of ±5% (Normal Voltage). Voltage is the change in voltage variations in a short time. Where the voltage change exceeds or below the standard voltage variation range, namely ±5% of the normal voltage. Based on IEEE Standard 1159-1995, the sag voltage is in the range of 10% -90% of the nominal voltage which lasts for 0.5 cycles. The voltage wave is in the range of 120% of the nominal voltage. Changes in voltage variations are caused by many factors such as large motor starting currents, uncontrolled load changes and short circuit current disturbances in the electric power system. The importance of maintaining voltage is a necessity because it is related to the reliability of an electric power system. For this reason, this research proposes "Application of the Fast Fourier Transform Method to Monitor Voltage Fluctuations" as a solution to power quality problems. To make it easier to process voltage (sinusoidal), the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) method is needed. The FFT method algorithm is needed to convert the time domain into the frequency domain, so that it can simplify the monitoring system process. This research was implemented the FFT method for monitoring voltage fluctuations in no-load and load conditions. From the results, it can be concluded that inductive loads can affect voltage quality. This was proven when carrying out tests under load, from the results of the analysis there was a decrease in voltage (voltage SAG) of 10% (Vrms = 209.5 V; time duration 0.1436 s) and an increase in voltage (voltage swell) of 20.6% ( Vrms = 278.75 V; time duration 0.228 – 0.428 s).

Abstract

The Application for Ordering Flower Boards and Banners is a tool to make it easier for sellers to market in the process of ordering and selling this product, the large number of residents in the Pidie Regency triggers requests to order quite a lot of flower boards and banners when there are daily events in Pidie district, so that making this Android-based application will help sellers and buyers because there is a system engaged in selling flower boards and banners. This system is an operating system designed for touchscreen mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets. So there are lots of programmers who flock to make applications or modify this operating system in the community.

Abstract

State information of synchronous generators plays a crucial role in monitoring, control, and fault detection within power systems, yet direct measurement often remains limited. This study proposes a dynamic state estimation method based on the sub-transient model of a synchronous generator combined with the Extended Kalman Filter algorithm. The approach enables accurate state estimation using only terminal measurements, making it suitable for real-time monitoring applications. The algorithm operates through prediction and correction stages that iteratively update the estimated states. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves low mean square error values across various operating conditions and disturbance scenarios. The unstable fault case yields the smallest error of 4.41×10⁻⁹, while the combined process and measurement noise scenario results in the largest error of 1.19×10⁻¹. These findings confirm that the proposed approach provides accurate and reliable state estimation for synchronous generator sub-transient models and has strong potential to enhance power system stability and reliability.
