Abstract

Peran serta perguruan tinggi dalam rangka peningkatan kualitas hidup masyarakat diwujudkan dalam kegiatan Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan untuk mendapatkan pendampingan teknik perbanyakan bibit stek stroberi di Sekolah Luar Biasa C-D Untung Tuah Samarinda Seberang. Permasalahan yang ada di  lingkungan sekolah adalah minimnya pengetahuan guru dalam bidang pertanian sementara lahan yang dimiliki sangat luas dan belum dimanfaatkan. Oleh karena itu, peran Politani terutama Program Studi Budidaya Tanaman Perkebunan sangat dibutuhkan untuk membantu dalam pendampingan dalam pemanfaatan lahan menjadi lahan produktif. Anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus perlu bantuan dan pendampingan sebagai program ektrakulikuler pada bidang keahlian pertanian, sehingga nantinya saat lulus dari sekolah anak-anak dapat mengembangkan dan mempraktekkan sendiri ilmu yang didapatkan, baik di rumah maupun di lingkungan masyarakat untuk dapat hidup mandiri. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bukan hanya sebagai seremonial saja, tetapi pendampingan permanen sampai guru dan anak-anak benar-benar bisa dan menguasai dalam perbanyakan bibit stroberi dan cara penjualan di masyarakat. Tanaman stroberi adalah tanaman yang mudah tumbuh dan mudah dikembanganbiakkan di daerah yang bersuhu dingin dan bertopografi dataran tinggi. Perbanyakan strowberi dengan cara vegetatif menggunakan stek anakan sulur yang sehat dan tahan hama penyakit. Dengan adanya pengabdian ini maka diharapkan masyarakat, guru dan siswa dapat mengembangkan stek bibit stroberi dengan mandiri. Selain itu penggunanan bibit dan media tanaman yang tepat serta penggunaan teknologi media online dapat meningkatkan penjualan bibit dan buah stroberi yang diproduksi.

Abstract

Stem base rot (SBR) disease caused by Phytophthora capsici Leonian is associated with significant yield loss. Meanwhile, wild passion fruit (Passiflora foetida L.) interacts with bacteria that have potential to control SBR disease. Therefore, this research aimed to examine potential of endophytic bacteria from wild passion fruit to control SBR disease in pepper plant and the role as growth promoters. A total of 12 endophytic bacteria isolates were tested for potential to promote growth and biocontrol, focusing on the ability to produce the phytohormone IAA, dissolve phosphate, fix nitrogen, as well as produce cellulase and protease enzymes. The three best isolates were then tested on pepper cuttings (Var. Malonan I). The results showed that the highest disease severity was found in control at 40.74% (moderately susceptible), followed by isolate KSA 01 at 37.03%, and SIB 01 at 33.33% (resistant). Disease severity in isolate KPA 03 was significantly lower at 7.41% (very resistant). The highest disease incidence occurred in control and KSA 03 at 44.44%, while the lowest occurred in KPA 03 and SIB 02 at 33.33%. Isolate KPA 03 produced the highest plant height increase (39.87 cm) and the highest number of leaves (5.78), although it was not significantly different from isolate SIB 02. This research showed that endophytic bacteria from wild passion fruit could effectively control SBR disease and improve pepper plant growth.

Abstract

One of the efforts to continuously increase lettuce production is by using hydroponic technology. Hydroponics is a way of farming without using soil media but using water or porous materials. Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) including hydroponic farming methods. In this system, some of the roots of the plants are submerged in water that contains fertilizer and some are above the surface of the water with a continuous 24 hours of circulation. The research was conducted from June to November 2020. The research was carried out on the Hydroponic Roof Top of the Red Building. Plantation Cultivation. This research method used a non-factorial randomized block design (RBD), the treatment of 1100 ppm AB Mix nutrition at the age of 1-14 days, 1300 ppm from the age of 21-28 days, 1500 ppm at the age of 29 - 35 days and B2 = Fertilizer Growmore 1100 ppm at the age of 1 - 14 and 1300 ppm from the age of 21 - 28 days, 1500 ppm at the age of 29 - 35 days Each treatment consists of 20 sample plants.The results showed a significant difference in the application of AB Mix fertilizer to Growmore fertilizer from week 1 to week IV on plant height increase, number of leaves and wet weight or yield on lettuce plants.
