Abstract

Current technological developments give games have quality and facilities that are not inferior to other media. One of them is that game players can interact with each other online so that the game is not only used for entertainment but also verbal and non-verbal interactions. Game users today are not only children but also parents who play online games. In fact, online games are also often played between parents or husband and wife. On the other hand, the increase in online gaming activity for the husband who acts as the head of the family can create problems with family communication patterns. This is because the husband has a powerful role in family members. Therefore, these conditions can affect the harmony of the family. This study aims to determine the relationship between playing online games and family communication patterns in terms of intensity, frequency, and motives in married adult men. The data were collected using a questionnaire distributed online to 100 respondents throughout Indonesia. The data obtained were then analysed using the SPSS program. The results showed that playing online games did not affect family communication patterns. Game players have different reasons according to the intensity, frequency, and motive of playing the game so that it does not have a negative effect on family communication patterns. Thus, it can be concluded that online games can positively impact family communication patterns if appropriately implemented.

Abstract

Many schools and universities in Indonesia have implemented combination learning or blended learning. Many factors influence student involvement in blended learning, including initial abilities, independent learning, and student attitudes. This study aims to determine the effect of initial abilities, learning independence and self-confidence on student involvement in blended learning. The initial ability variable is measured from the aspect of skills in using information technology, the willingness to use information technology, the availability of information technology, and confidence in the reliability of information technology. Learning independence is measured by not depending on others, disciplined behavior, a sense of responsibility, behaving based on initiative, and exercising self-control. The attitude variable of self-confidence is measured by confidence in using information technology, asking and answering questions, expressing opinions, and completing tasks on their own. Student involvement in online learning is viewed from 3 dimensions, namely cognitive, emotional and behavioral involvement. This study uses a non-experimental quantitative research design and is analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS). Data was collected using a questionnaire and distributed to students in Indonesia. The study results show that learning using blended learning initial abilities, learning independence, and self-confidence affect student involvement.

Abstract

Penggunaan teknologi dalam dunia pendidikan penting untuk dilakukan, namun akses dan pemahaman terkait teknologi yang dapat menyediakan informasi tak terbatas memerlukan kolaborasi bersama akademisi di perguruan tinggi dalam memberikan edukasi terkait literasi media. Maka, pelatihan literasi media di lingkungan pendidikan dipandang perlu untuk dilakukan, sebagai upaya untuk membangun pemahaman dan keterampilan pada guru dan siswa, khususnya di yayasan Al-Huda Surabaya, dalam menangkal hoax dan mengidentifikasi fake news selama menggunakan jaringan online pada proses belajar mengajar. Pelatihan Literasi Media terbagi ke dalam 2 (dua) kegiatan utama, yakni penyampaian materi yang berjudul Hoax, Fake News dan Disinformasi dan materi kedua yang berjudul Literasi Digital dan Etika Bermedia. Selama pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan, dilakukan juga evaluasi melalui kuisioner pre-test dan post-test yang dibagikan sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan dilaksanakan. Kuisioner terdiri atas 10 (sepuluh) item pilihan ganda yang berkaitan dengan materi pelatihan. Melalui pelatihan tersebut, kompetensi guru dan kepala sekolah di yayasan Al-Huda, Surabaya dalam mengidentifikasi perbedaan berita dan menelusuri sumber informasi, baik yang valid maupun hoax atau fake news semakin meningkat dan pemahaman tersebut dapat terus disebarluaskan kepada siswa-siswi sekolah.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to examine the representation of the impact of sexual violence in the film Georgia in 11 film scenes analyzed and classified according to the impacts of sexual violence experienced by the victim's parents. This research uses Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic analysis which consists of three interconnected elements, including representament or sign, object, interpretant or interpreter. The results obtained show that the impact of sexual violence is classified into three main topics. First, psychological distress such as feelings of guilt, self-blame, shame, helplessness, anger, anxiety, feeling like a failure as a parent, confusion, shock, distrust, hopelessness, and sadness. Second, the creation of relationship tensions with others such as distrust of others. Third, financial problems such as debt and loan defaults. In addition, Georgia's film also shows the impact of the social environment in viewing and treating victims and families of victims of sexual violence, which is divided into two main topics, namely stigmatization and discrimination, as well as exclusion and marginalization.

Abstract

Dalam era ini, Generasi Z dikenal sebagai kelompok yang hidup seiring dengan teknologi, memanfaatkannya secara alami, dan memiliki kecakapan teknologi yang tinggi. Siswa-siswi SMAN 1 Kebomas Gresik, sebagai bagian dari Generasi Z, memiliki potensi besar untuk menjadi digital creator yang kreatif dan berpengaruh di dunia digital. Sebagai generasi yang terhubung erat dengan teknologi. Kemampuan mereka dalam memahami dan memanfaatkan teknologi secara kreatif adalah potensi yang dapat dikembangkan untuk menciptakan konten menarik dan relevan di dunia digital. Namun disisi lain hadirnya sosial media tidak memberikan kedalaman dalam suatu kefokusan maupun produktivitas yang semakin menyempit dikarenakan segala sesuatu disajikan dengan instan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka solusi yang ditawarkan adalah dengan membuat workshop bagi siswa siswi kelas 10 dan 11 di SMAN 1 Kebomas Gresik optimalisasi kegiatan ekstrakurikuler jurnalistik sehingga dapat membekali siswa siswi SMAN 1 Kebomas Gresik untuk menghadapi persaingan dunia digital. Salah satu hasil yang didapatkan dalam pelatihan workshop ini, salah satunya berupa keterampilan dan produktivitas dalam pemanfaatan strategi sosial media marketing untuk menjadi digital creator. Metode yang dilakukan pada pengabdian ini dengan menggunakan metode pemecah masalah mitra berupa Identifikasi pemahaman dan pengetahuan mitra terhadap teknologi komunikasi, FGD, merancang materi mengenai produksi konten guna optimalisasi produktivitas yang telah disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan mitra, sebagai bahan kajian pada saat sosialisasi dan melakukan pendampingan secara berkala agar kedepannya mitra mampu mandiri dalam menjalankan hasil kegiatan ini. Selanjutnya yaitu Monitoring dan Evaluasi yang bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hambatan dan kendala yang muncul pada saat proses pelaksanaan yang sudah dilakukan.

Abstract

Guru atau tenaga pengajar merupakan salah satu sumber daya manusia yang penting untuk mewujudkan tujuan dari penyelenggaraan pendidikan. Oleh karena itu, sebagai sebuah profesi, guru memerlukan peningkatan profesionalitas, salah satunya adalah melalui publikasi artikel ilmiah. Kendati demikian, sangat disayangkan berdasarkan data di lapangan, sekitar 410.000 guru yang berpangkat IV/a ternyata masih mengalami kesulitan untuk kenaikan pangkat karena adanya persyaratan menulis karya ilmiah. Tujuan dari program pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah 1) meningkatkan pemahaman guru Sekolah Dasar Muhammadiyah di Kota Surabaya tentang penulisan artikel ilmiah; 2) melatih guru Sekolah Dasar Muhammadiyah di Kota Surabaya menulis artikel ilmiah; dan 3) menghasilkan artikel ilmiah yang akan dipublikasikan dalam jurnal terakreditasi SINTA. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan selama empat belas hari yaitu pada tanggal 4–17 Desember 2021. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah in-service training program yaitu pelatihan dan pendampingan. Sasaran mitra adalah guru Sekolah Dasar Muhammadiyah di Kota Surabaya. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa melalui program tersebut semua mitra telah berhasil menyelesaikan artikel ilmiah dan melakukan submit di jurnal terakreditasi SINTA, baik tiga, empat, dan lima.

Abstract

This community service aims to develop a Village Information System (SID) in Prampelan Village, Karangrejo District, Magetan Regency, to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by increasing information accessibility and village management efficiency. This website-based SID is built with an open-source platform that supports the management of various village information ranging from development programs, public services, to community activities digitally. The methods used are Science and Technology Diffusion and training, involving active participation from village officials and local communities. The results of the community service show an increase in access to information for the community, as well as an increase in the skills of village officials in managing SID. This program is expected to be a model for other villages to utilize technology in achieving sustainable development goals..Keywords: Village Information System, SDGs, Information Accessibility, Village Management, Open-source CMS
