Abstract

Abstract: The competence of compiling scientific papers is currently very important for every student. So it is necessary to make efforts to improve these competencies as provisions when going to higher education. We have provided information to 34 students who are members of youth scientific groups at the high school level in Central Lombok. The activity began with the delivery of material on scientific articles of national standardized journals, then ended with a discussion and giving an evaluation test of six questions to the participants. The evaluation results obtained information that the average student understanding was 81 with the lowest score of 50 and the highest of 100. This shows that the activity has been carried out well. In the future, it is hoped that activities like this will continue to be carried out in order to obtain maximum understanding by students on each achievement indicator.

Abstract

The performance management system for teachers and education personnel is very important to improve the quality of education in an institution. The importance of periodic evaluation of this system to find weaknesses and opportunities for professional development of educators. Currently, many educational institutions still face difficulties in implementing a comprehensive and sustainable performance management system. The purpose of this study is to determine how effective the performance management system for teachers and education personnel is in the related educational institutions. According to the results of the study, the current performance management system still has structural and procedural weaknesses. Not all performance indicators used reflect the real abilities of teachers and education personnel. Major improvements are needed in the assessment mechanism. This is especially related to more objective assessment instruments and standards. The focus of this study is on creating a more comprehensive, participatory, and competency-based performance management system model.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance the digital marketing skills of student entrepreneurs at Universitas Syiah Kuala by optimizing the use of WhatsApp Business. Many young entrepreneurs lack familiarity with digital tools that can streamline business operations and expand market reach. This training was designed to address this gap by introducing participants to the practical features of WhatsApp Business. Utilizing the Service Learning (SL) method, the activity included presentations, hands-on practice, and evaluations. The training covered key WhatsApp Business features such as profile setup, product catalog management, and customer messaging. Results showed a marked increase in participants' understanding, with 85% reporting improved competence in using the app for business purposes and 90% expressing greater confidence in leveraging digital marketing tools. This activity highlights the potential of simple, accessible digital tools in supporting young entrepreneurs and contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in promoting economic growth and digital literacy.

Abstract

This study investigates the involvement and role of Indonesian government ministries and agencies in managing Rohingya refugees in Aceh. It explores key factors influencing the refugee situation, including policy frameworks, resource allocation, and inter-agency coordination. Using qualitative interviews with officials from relevant departments, the research provides an in-depth analysis of the challenges and strategies employed. Findings highlight significant gaps in coordination and resource management, suggesting the need for enhanced policies and greater international cooperation. The study contributes to the understanding of refugee management in Indonesia and offers recommendations for improving policy implementation and support mechanisms for refugees.

Abstract

Nypa fruticans (Arecaceae) is a tropical mangrove plant with potential as a natural biomaterial due to its galactomannan content, a water-soluble hetero-poly-saccharide suitable as a base material for bio-ink. This study aims to evaluate the potential of Nypa fruticans extract as a sustainable natural biomaterial for scaffold fabrication using 3D bio-printing technology. To optimize its mechanical and structural properties, glycerol and sorbitol were added as plasticizing agents. The research methods consist of (a) maceration method extraction of Nypa fruticans fruit, subsequent characterization by Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC–MS) analysis, (b) formulation of biomaterials with glycerol and sorbitol at varying concentrations (5%, 10%, and 15%), and (c) scaffold fabrication using 3D bio-printing. The scaffolds were then assessed for printed line width, density, and porosity. FTIR analysis confirmed the presence of hydroxyl (O–H) functional groups at 3600–3300 cm⁻¹, while GC–MS detected 5-hydroxymethylfurfural, indicating polysaccharide derivatives consistent with galactomannan content. The addition of sorbitol significantly influenced the physical properties and printability of the formulated bio-ink, with the optimal composition obtained at 85% Nypa fruticans extract and 15% sorbitol. This formulation successfully produced stable CAD-based scaffold architectures with cubic and rhombic pore configurations, achieving precise deposition widths (±1.18 mm) relative to the 0.5-mm nozzle diameter. An increased sorbitol concentration of 15% correlated with higher scaffold density (up to 0.971 g/cm3) and reduced porosity (down to 0.436). These findings demonstrate the potential of Nypa fruticans extract as an efficient and sustainable natural bio-ink for tissue engineering applications.Study of characterization of natural biomaterials Nypa fruticans extract for scaffold fabrication using 3D bio-printing method

Abstract

Islam Nusantara is a discourse that has generated diverse responses, ranging from support to rejection. One of the prominent figures who strongly supports this discourse is Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur). Through library-based research, this article examines the concept of Islam Nusantara from Gus Dur’s perspective. The findings indicate that Gus Dur’s support for Islam Nusantara is grounded in two primary considerations. First, Islam Nusantara is viewed as an effort to balance the process of Arabization, which has the potential to cultivate fanaticism toward Arabic symbols and diminish local cultural identities. Second, Islam Nusantara is understood as a form of dialogue between religious texts and the socio-cultural realities of the Nusantara region, resulting in a distinctive mode of Islamic practice without compromising the essential teachings of Islam.
