Abstract

This research aims to analyze the results of the application of Blended Learning with reference to the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. Blended Learning and PjBL can be packaged as a learning model, namely Project-Based Blended Learning (PjB2L). The design of learning activities with the help of e-campus media is used to measure its impact on student learning outcomes in Statistics courses. The main focus of the research describes two main things, the description of the application of statistics lectures with the PjB2L model and the results of statistical tests on differences in learning outcomes obtained. Quasi-experimental research was designed to compare student learning outcomes in experimental classes (with the PjB2L model) and control classes (conventional/blended direct learning). 43 students were involved in this study which was divided into two classes, namely the control class which included 20 students, and the experimental class which involved 23 students. In addition, on data analysis technique, analysis of covariance (ANCOVA), was used to compare the results of the control group and the experimental group, with the covariance variable being the pre-test results (initial knowledge). The results showed significant differences. The difference shown in this study leads to the support of the experimental group's better learning achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to re-examine the relationship between metacognitive awareness and students’ number sense in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) on Bangka Island, Indonesia. Although previous studies in general education contexts have shown that higher metacognitive awareness supports stronger number sense, empirical evidence in Islamic elementary schools remains limited, particularly where mathematics instruction tends to emphasize procedural rather than reflective learning. Addressing this gap provides insights into how MI pedagogical characteristics influence students’ cognitive and metacognitive engagement in numeracy. This study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. Data were collected from 256 fifth-grade MI students using a number sense test and a teacher-reported metacognitive awareness questionnaire. The results showed that students’ number sense performance was generally low. Statistical analysis indicated no significant relationship between metacognitive awareness and number sense achievement (p = 0.459, R² = 0.002), suggesting that metacognitive awareness may not directly contribute to number sense development in the MI context. This finding implies that students’ metacognitive processes are not optimally activated during mathematics learning due to instructional practices that limit self-monitoring and strategic thinking. Therefore, mathematics instruction in madrasah settings should integrate explicit metacognitive strategy training, such as planning, self-questioning, and reflection, to strengthen both metacognitive awareness and number sense.

Abstract

Teacher regeneration is critical for sustaining national education quality, yet youth interest in this profession is reportedly declining. Limited empirical evidence exists regarding how career perceptions and social factors shape this interest among final-year secondary students, particularly in archipelagic regions with strong extractive industrial pulls such as Bangka Belitung. This study aims to examine the associations between perceived career prospects, social factors, and interest in becoming a teacher among 12th-grade senior high school students in Bangka Belitung Province. A quantitative cross-sectional survey was employed. A total of 753 twelfth-grade students were involved, with 100 participating in instrument testing and 653 completing the main survey. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with robust standard errors via Python (Google Colab platform). The regression model explained 45.8% of the variance in interest in becoming a teacher (R² = .458; F = 244.1, p < .001). Perceived career prospects emerged as a significant unique statistical predictor (β = 0.492, p < .001), whereas social factors did not show a significant independent association (β = -0.043, p = .338). These findings indicate that student interest in the Bangka Belitung archipelago is primarily associated with pragmatic career considerations, whereas traditional social values alone do not meaningfully drive career choice in this context. The results can inform regional policy reforms, particularly those aimed at improving tangible job prospects and professional conditions to prevent a potential talent gap in the education sector. Future research should further explore the roles of self-efficacy and digital information exposure using qualitative or mixed-methods approaches.
