Abstract

Children's interest in Sunday School worship is a spirit that must be internalized in all things. Many factors cause children to want to come to worship. Starting from a good room, lots of props, and teacher creativity. One influence that needs special attention is the teacher's way of telling stories in teaching. This article analyzes the influence of Sunday School teachers' creativity in telling stories on children's interest in worshiping at Indonesian Bethel Children aged 8-12 years. The research method used is quantitative, with a data collection model through surveys. The hypothesis is that there is an influence between the creativity of Sunday School teachers in telling stories on the interest of ABI children aged 8-12 years at GBI Petamburan. So from the hypothesis testing analysis, it was concluded that there was a low influence between the creativity of Sunday school teachers in telling stories on the interest of ABI children aged 8-12 years in worship at GBI Petamburan with a strong relationship between this variable of 0.251. Moreover, the contribution to children's interest in worship is only 6.3%, and the remaining 93.7% is determined by other variables that were not used as variables in this research. Thus, the influence of Sunday school teachers' creativity in telling stories on the interest of ABI children aged 8-12 years at GBI Petamburan is low.

Abstract

Two strategies that have received considerable attention are inquiry-based learning and creative learning. Contemporary education requires approaches that are innovative and adaptive to evolving learning needs. Inquiry learning emphasizes exploration and investigation, encouraging students to think critically and analytically. On the other hand, creative learning emphasizes the development of divergent thinking and problem-solving skills, which are crucial in addressing today's global challenges. To improve students' critical thinking and creativity skills, which ultimately influence the quality of learning, this research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of combining inquiry and creative learning methodologies. This research employs the classroom action research method to practically investigate how learning materials can be enhanced by incorporating interactive and innovative teaching techniques in the context of Christianity. The results of the pilot application of the Explore-Creative learning strategy in education showed that it is highly effective in improving students' conceptual understanding, active participation, creativity, collaboration, and information retention. Additionally, this strategy can be adapted to accommodate different learning styles and varying levels of student understanding.

Abstract

Implementation of Christian religious education still lacks creativity in rural schools. Inland schools are an important asset for the nation's progress. This research used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, and then the researcher interviewed one of the educators who teaches at SDN 26 Simpang Hulu, West Kalimantan. The results of the research found that (i) an educator's creativity provides a strong impetus for existing learning, (ii) Educators must also teach with a contextual approach, not just a textual one, and (iii) Implementation of Christian religious education can be carried out if an educator can provide learning without the existence of a GAP or dividing wall.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Christian education in realizing sustainable development, particularly in the socio-economic dimension re-lated to SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). Using an intersectional approach, this research examines the role of Christian education in shaping character, promoting economic self-reliance, and fostering social cohesion. Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s concepts of Stellvertretung (vicarious responsibility) and being-for-others serve as the theological framework to underscore the pu-blic dimension of Christian faith. The findings suggest that Christian edu-cation can serve as a transformative agent, integrating faith, practical skills, work ethics, and social solidarity. Vocational education, the empowerment of vulnerable groups, and the formation of ethical leadership establish Christian education as a strategic means of addressing inequality, struc-tural poverty, and marginalization. Accordingly, the proposed new para-digm is that sustainable development should not rely solely on economic growth but must also integrate spirituality and social justice.

Abstract

Child development in the postmodern era faces unique challenges, primarily due to the plurality and relativity dominating the understanding of truth. In this period, children are confronted with various perspectives that often contradict, leading to confusion about their identity and values. Christian parents and educators need to play a more significant role in instilling values based on biblical truth. In this context, the love of Christ becomes an unshakable centre in nurturing children. Through the unconditional love exemplified by Christ, children are taught to understand that they are valuable in the eyes of God, regardless of their background or abilities. Educators must use relevant and engaging methods, such as stories and parables, to convey moral and spiritual values. Moreover, positive interactions between parents and children through daily activities, such as playing and listening to stories, aid in children's emotional and social development. In formal education, teachers must integrate character and moral development into their curriculum, working alongside families to instil values of honesty, responsibility, and hard work. Through a holistic approach involving families, schools, and communities, children can grow in a supportive and loving environment, preparing them to face the challenges of the postmodern era with solid faith and good character.
