Abstract

Resilience that has not been formed and self-regulatory functions that are not optimal, play a role in low adherence to treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV). This study aimed to develop a resilience model of antiretroviral therapy (ARV) adherence and quality of life for PLHIV. This study used a cross-sectional approach to 185 PLHIV in Tulungagung, East Java, Indonesia who were selected using simple random sampling. Individual factors, disease representation, emotional response, social support, interpretation, coping, resilience, adherence, and quality of life were variables in this study that were measured using a questionnaire. The data were then analyzed descriptively and using structural equation model (SEM) based on partial least square (PLS). The results showed that individual factors (T=4.062), disease representation (T=3.755), emotional response (T=3.988), and social support (T=2.753) affected interpretation of disease. Interpretation of disease then influences coping (T=5.285). Coping affects resilience (T=4.045), resilience influences ARV adherence (T=2.846), and adherence affects quality of life (T=10.050). Other factors that directly influence ARV adherence are emotional response (T=3.120) and social support (T=3.255). This resilience model is relevantly able to improve adherence in PLHIV. Emotional response is a factor that has the strongest influence in shaping the resilience of PLHIV in the mechanism of adherence and quality of life.

Abstract

Abstract

Methods: This review employed a literature review methodology, with data collected from databases including PubMed, ScienceDirect, ProQuest, and Google Scholar. The search utilized relevant keywords, and the extracted data were analysed using the PICO framework, focusing on study characteristics, types of interventions, and outcomes. Reporting adhered to the PRISMA-SR guidelines. Included studies were English language randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that specifically addressed family psychoeducation for caregivers of schizophrenia patients and reported outcomes such as reduced caregiver burden, improved caregiving knowledge, and skills. Results: There were 17 articles containing 8 types of psychoeducational program that can be caried out on families of schizophrenia patients, namely Multifamily Psychoeducational Program, WeChat-based integrative family intervention program, Telehealth-Based Psychoeducation for Caregivers, Behavioral Family Psychoeducational Program, Mindfulness-Based Psychoeducation, Structured Psychoeducation, Family Psychoeducation, Group Psychoeducation. The intervention was given for a minimum of 4 sessions, and a maximum of 16 sessions. Abstract

Introduction: Chest pain is a common complaint in patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS). One of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be applied to treat chest pain is thermotherapy or heat therapy. Local thermotherapy can reduce or relieve chest pain by suppressing metabolites as pain mediators. Objective: The purpose of this review is to identify the effect of thermotherapy on chest pain in patients with SCA. Methods: the method used was literature review, using electronic journal databases. Databases used include Pubmed, Science Direct, and Proquest with keywords that match chest pain, ACS, and thermotherapy. Results: The results of the literature search obtained 3 articles from databases and 3 articles from handsearch. All the literature found obtained results that had a significant effect or positive results on reducing the intensity of chest pain in patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) with thermotherapy or heat therapy. Conclusion: Thermotherapy or heat therapy can be used as an alternative therapy to reduce chest pain in ACS patients.
