Abstract

Latar Belakang: Angka kejadian anemia di dunia dan Indonesia meningkat setiap tahun. Asupan makan yang tidak seimbang adalah salah satu penyebab anemia. Asupan makan yang tidak seimbang dapat disebabkan oleh pengetahuan yang rendah. Melalui edukasi gizi, remaja dapat mengubah perilaku makan ke arah yang lebih baik.Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh edukasi gizi melalui Instagram terhadap perilaku gizi seimbang dalam mencegah anemia pada remaja putri.Metode: Design penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasy eksperimental pre-post test with control group design. Media yang digunakan adalah Instagram sebagai media untuk kelompok intervensi dan WhatsApp sebagai media untuk kelompok kontrol. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 2 Padang pada bulan Oktober 2019 - April 2020. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 60 remaja putri, yang terbagi dalam dua kelompok, yaitu 30 remaja putri kelompok intervensi dan 30 remaja putri kelompok kontrol. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan proporsional random sampling. Analisis data menggunakan paired sample t-test dan independent sample t-test.Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan tentang gizi seimbang pada kelompok Instagram. Ada perbedaan pengetahuan yang signifikan antara Instagram dan kelompok kontrol. Pemberian edukasi gizi melalui Instagram berdampak pada peningkatan pengetahuan tentang gizi seimbang pada remaja putri untuk mencegah anemia di SMA Negeri 2 Padang.Kesimpulan: Pemberian edukasi gizi melalui Instagram mempengaruhi pengetahuan tentang gizi seimbang pada remaja putri. Ahli gizi di Kota Padang diharapkan dapat menggunakan media sosial sebagai media edukasi gizi dan pengembangan media yang efektif dan efisien.

Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects the structure and function of the kidneys. The burden of disease from CKD is expected to increase as the prevalence of CKD increases from year to year. The quality of the diet plays a role in the management and treatment of CKD. The diet quality of CKD patients is assessed using dietary acid load (DAL) which is estimated based on protein and potassium intake. A high score of DAL can lead to more rapid decline in renal function, rapid decline in GFR, and low-grade subclinical acidosis. This study was aimed to analyze the relationship between dietary acid load and kidney function in CKD patients with hemodialysis at the Bogor City Hospital. This study used a cross sectional design involving 50 subjects with CKD on hemodialysis. Data was collected by interview using a questionnaire for data characteristics and Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) for data intake. There was a significant relationship between DAL and eGFR, urea, and creatinine (p<0,05). The level of DAL plays an important role in the development and severity of CKD. Therefore, dietary recommendations for patients CKD on hemodialysis need to focus to the dietary acid load derived from foods and to the condition of hyperkalemia. Further research is expected to be carried out with an intervention, case control or cohort design, as well as using different equations in estimating DAL such as the net acid excretion (NAE), potential renal acid load (PRAL) equation.

Abstract

The practice of exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) can reduce mortality and morbidity rates in children and supports optimal growth and development in children. The practice of EBF influenced by various predisposing factors, supporting factors and reinforcing factors. This study aimed to evaluate the determinants of exclusive breastfeeding practices among mothers of infants 6-24 months old infants in Padang. This case control study conducted at Padang with 200 mothers, consisting of 100 mothers of case groups and 100 mothers of control groups. Maternal and infant characteristics, family characteristics, predisposing factors, supporting factors and reinforcing factors, and exclusive breastfeeding were collected for this study. Chi square and binary logistic regression were used to the data analysis. Results showed that mother's occupation, exclusive breastfeeding knowledge and parent's support were the most influencing determinants for exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Stunting is the cronic malnutrition that was considered to still be a severe problem in Indonesia because the prevalence rate is still above 20%. Stunting prevention can be done by providing nutrition, health services, and using local food, such as dadih, for pregnant women. This service aims to increase capasity of mothers' knowledge about pregnancy through nutritional education and the application of processed dadih products in the form of functional dadih bread to pregnant women to prevent stunting in The Limapuluh Kota districts. The lecture method was used in n this activity provide free supplemental food to pregnant women in Lima Puluh Kota Regency. carried out on July 31 2023, by providing nutritional education and the application of dadiah functional bread to pregnant women. Other activities included in this service are ultrasound examinations and nutritional status for pregnant women. Acceptance of pregnant women's consultation every day for 1 month. The weight of pregnant women was measured before and after giving curd functional bread. The results of this activity showed that the acceptability of functional curd bread was good proven by the remaining products provided, only 25% of all products consisting of bread and curd vla. The conclusion of this community service is an effect of giving functional curd bread on weight gain of pregnant women.

Abstract

Background: Gestational Weight Gain (GWG) is correlated to the growth and development of foetus and pregnancy outcomes. Probiotics have a positive effect on gestational weight gain. Dadih is a traditional West Sumatra food containing 108 CFU/ml of probiotics. Objectives: This research aimed to investigate the effect of dadih functional bread on gestational weight gain. Methods: This research is a Randomised Controlled Trials (RCT) design with double blinds with a gestational age of 12-20 weeks belonging to 88 pregnant women. The tests for weight balancing scales were used. The data were examined using Independent T-test for difference test and General Liniar Model (GLM) repeated measures, and Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). Results: The average GWG was significantly 2 kg greater for the intervention group related to the control group (7.3±2.6 kg vs 5.4±3.8 kg). The GWG in the intervention group exceeded the recommended GWG per month. The results indicated that weight gain was difference across the four-time measurements in both groups. There was a significant different in the average GWG among the intervention control and the control group (p-value<0.001). Conclusions: Dadih functional bread supplementation for three months significantly effect the gestational weight gain. Thus, the consumption of the dadih products can be considered when planning the nutrition to advance the nutritional status of pregnant women.

Abstract

Malnutrisi pada anak masih menjadi permasalahan gizi di Sumatera Barat. Asupan vitamin dan mineral merupakan salah satu faktor penentu malnutrisi pada anak. Vitamin dan mineral berperan pada proses-proses metabolisme dan daya tubuh pada anak yang selanjutnya dapat mempengaruhi status gizi anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan asupan vitamin dan mineral dengan status gizi anak usia 6 – 11 bulan di Kota Padang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian cross-sectional pada 77 anak usia 6 – 11 bulan di Kota Padang. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober – November 2023. Data karakteristik ibu dan karakteristik anak dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan kuesioner. Data asupan vitamin dan mineral anak didapatkan dari wawancara food recall 2x24 jam. Status gizi anak didapatkan melalui pengukuran langsung berat badan dan tinggi badan anak. Analisis statistik yang digunakan adalah Korelasi Spearman dengan tingkat signifikansi p<0,05 dan CI 95%. Ada hubungan antara asupan vitamin A dengan BB/TB, asupan vitamin D dan zink dengan TB/U, dan asupan vitamin A dan zink dengan BB/u pada anak usia 6 – 11 bulan di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Nanggalo, Andalas, Belimbing dan KPIK. Nilai korelasi yang didapatkan adalah positif dengan kekuatan lemah. Hal ini menandakan masih ada faktor lain yang mungkin ikut mempengaruhi status gizi anak. Tenaga gizi puskesmas diharapkan dapat memberikan edukasi gizi kepada ibu/pengasuh anak mengenai pemberian makan anak yang adekuat baik asupan zat gizi makro maupun zat gizi mikro.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a health problem that continues to increase at the national and global levels. In West Sumatra Province, the prevalence of CKD is higher than the national average. It tends to increase along with the increase in cases of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and unhealthy lifestyles. The Pauh Community Health Center is one of the areas with a high number of cases of hypertension and diabetes mellitus. However, there are no outreach activities regarding Dietary Acid Load (DAL) as a nutritional risk factor for CKD. This community service activity aimed to improve public awareness and knowledge about nutritional risk factors for CKD and to encourage healthy lifestyle behavior changes. The activity employed an educational approach through an interactive counseling method, using PowerPoint and leaflets as teaching aids. The participants consisted of 12 members of the Prolanis program. The average pre-test score was 5.6, while the average post-test score was 7.3, showing an increase of 1.7 points compared to the pre-test. Evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge regarding nutritional risk factors for CKD (p-value = 0.014). Regular nutrition education for Prolanis participants is recommended as part of CKD prevention efforts. In addition, the developed leaflet can be distributed to patients visiting Pauh Community Health Center daily.
