Abstract

Classroom interaction is not only carried out during face-to-face learning, but also in online learning. As we know that classroom interaction an important component to achieve the effectiveness in the learning process. This study aims to find out how is the classroom interaction between English teacher and students in online learning during pandemic Covid-19. This type of research was descriptive qualitative, so the researcher used observation, interview and documentation for collection the information and data. The students of MAN 2 Kota Bengkulu at XI IPS 1 as the subject of this research, the researcher needs a systematic procedures in analyzing the data in order that the result can be organized systematically. The result showed that the classroom interaction between English teacher and the students was good. The most frequently utterances did by the teacher was ask question, give information and correct direction. Whereas, student response, specific and student response open-ended or student initiate mostly for the students talk categories.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to describe the results of the evaluation of the 2013 curriculum implementation process in the assessment of learning outcomes conducted by Indonesian and English language subject teachers in in the Bengkulu City Ja-Alhaq MTS and explain the gap between absolute standards of implementation and the implementation of learning outcomes assessment conducted by Indonesian subject teachers and English in MTS Ja-Alhaq Kota Bengkulu. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques by observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique starts from identifying data, classifying data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the process of implementing student learning outcomes conducted by English teachers of Indonesian language teachers was not fully in accordance with what was requested by K13, the assessment of aspects of knowledge competence was still dominated by written test techniques, and assessment for skills competency measurement was only done with assessment techniques practice. Then, there are some gaps between the absolute standards of implementation and the implementation of student learning outcomes assessment conducted by English teachers and Indonesian teachers who are the subjects of this research.

Abstract

Students' speaking skills can be enhanced by using Instagram English content videos as a teaching and learning tool. With Instagram, students can simultaneously practice four separate English language skills. Instagram offers the chance to participate in a dialogue process. Because Instagram is thought to be the best place for EFL learners to produce language exposure, it can therefore accommodate speaking practices. The purpose of this research is to determine whether Instagram's English-language content videos have a noteworthy impact on the speaking abilities of State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau students. Ex post facto design and quantitative methodology were employed in this investigation. The researchers distributed the questionnaire in order to gather data. Which were choosen by using purposive sampling. On May 25, 2023, the Department of English Education at UIN SUSKA Riau hosted this research. the information gathered from 42 samples. They were English Education Department fourth-semester students. Furthermore, surveys were employed to collect the information. The results showed that students' speaking abilities are significantly impacted by Instagram English content videos, utilizing the simple linear regression computation table. The T ratio gain of 10.777 is higher than the T table value of 2.020, meaning that 10.777 > 2.020. Next, 0.00 was the significant value (0.00 < 0.05), which is less than 0.05. It is clear from this outcome that Ha is approved and Ho is refused. Thus, Instagram English content videos have an impact on students speaking skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the impact of the Game-Based Quizizz Application on the vocabulary mastery of tenth-grade students at SMKN 2 Bengkulu City. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. A total of 60 students participated, divided into two groups: 30 students in the experimental class (X TGM 2) and 30 students in the control class (X TP 1), selected through purposive sampling. The experimental group received instruction using the Game-Based Quizizz Application, while the control group was taught using the traditional Grammar Translation Method. To establish a baseline, both groups were given a pre-test before the intervention. The results revealed that the experimental class had an average pre-test score of 51.47, whereas the control class had an average of 44.73. After the intervention, the post-test scores were collected, showing that the experimental class achieved an average of 79.70, while the control class reached 77.40. An independent T-test analysis indicated a significant (2-tailed) value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). These findings suggest that the use of the Game-Based Quizizz Application significantly enhances vocabulary mastery compared to traditional methods. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that integrating the Game-Based Quizizz Application into the learning process positively impacts vocabulary acquisition among tenth-grade students at SMKN 2 Bengkulu City.

Abstract

This research study is intended to determine the strategies of successful students in reading texkbook in Grade XI SMAN 7 Bengkulu city. This research design is qualitative based on case studies. The informant consisted of five students in Class XI SMAN 7 Kota Bengkulu.  Observation and interviews are the instruments of this research used by researchers, then the data is analyzed by triangulation which includes reduction data, display data and drawing conclusions to collect data. The results of this study show that there is one strategy in approaching text, namely previewing. In understanding the text there are four strategies, namely guessing, summarizing, determining the purpose of reading and making conclusions. The strategy in checking comprehension is threefold, rereading. Ask the teacher and also discuss. Each participant used more than one reading strategy. The reading strategy helps them understand the text easily enough so that they can be called good readers  or successful Keywords: EFL Leaners, Reading Strategies, Successful Readers

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the perception and use of E-Journals in fulfilling academic writing needs by 8th-semester students of the English Department at UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu during the COVID pandemic. Thus the variable consists of two, namely the dependent variable Academic Writing with the following indicators are Using resources to achieve academic writing, Level of staff in finding sources, Frequency of accessing sources, Scope of source search, and Determining the required information sources. While the independent variables consist of E-Journal-free indicators are Utilization, Update, Accessibility, Frequency, Speed, Convenience, and Security. This research method uses quantitative descriptive with samples taken using a random sampling technique consisting of a sample of 60 students. Then for data collection has used the instrument through questionnaires and observations. This research's results indicate that the study Level of student e-journal perceptions during the pandemic was on a scale of 3.31 (good). Furthermore, the study results showed that the level of use of e-journals as a source of information for academic writing is on a scale of 3.16 (good). In this case, the researcher suggests several things that need to be improved, including increasing the means of accessing e-journals and improving in updating and completeness of e-journal websites.

Abstract

Sering sekali keterampilan menulis dianggap sebagai sebuah keterampilan yang sulit dipelajari dan diajarkan oleh guru, karena keterampilan menulis banyak membutuhkan sebuah proses yang panjang serta pemikiran yang komplek. Pada dasarnya, mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dan pemahaman siswa dalam mempelajari ilmu bahasa dan ilmu sastra. Keterapilan menulis puisi merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang harus dicapai oleh peserta didik dalam mempelajari sastra. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kebutuhan pembelajaran dan keefektivitasan modul pembelajaran menulis puisi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development). Prosedur pengembangan meliputi 5 langkah yaitu analisis, perancangan, pengembangan, implementasi dan evaluasi.Populasi dan sumber yang digunakan dalam penelitan ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer yang didapat dari penyebaran angket kuisioner kepada responden. Penelitian ini memperoleh bukti bahwa guru dan siswa membutuhkan bahan ajar berbentuk modul pembelajaran yang mampu menarik minat siswa untuk menulis puisi karyanya sendiri sesuai dengan unsur serta langkah yang ada dan bisa menambah referensi bahan ajar bagi guru serta referensi pembelajaran bagi siswa. Dari hasil perhitungan didapat rata-rata kebutuhan siswa dan guru terhadap pembelajar menulis puisi adalah sebesar 85,95% sehingga termasuk dalam kategori setuju. Serta penelitan ini juga memperoleh bukti bahwa modul pembelajaran menulis puisi efektif meningkatkan kemempuan menulis puisi siswa SMP Negeri 5 Kota Bengkulu ditemukan bahwa rata-rata tingkat efektivitas modul pembelajaran mencapai angka 88,125 % termasuk kedalam kategori sangat efektif.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimanakah efektifitas pemanfaatan media blog Wordspress terhadap peningkatan keterampilan menulis teks cerpen siswa kelas XI di SMA Negeri 4 Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian yang penulis lakukan adalah penelitian lapangan (Field research) yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan menulis cerpen siswa setelah menggunakan media buku harian. Oleh karena itu, jenis metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen kuasi atau eksperimen semu, dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMAN 4 Kota Bengkulu tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Populasi terdiri atas 4 kelas, yaitu kelas XI IPA 1dan XI BAHASA 1. Sampel untuk penelitian ini sejumlah 71 orang yaitu terdiri dari kelas XI IPA 1 berjumlah 35 orang dan XI IPA 2 berjumlah 36 orang. Jadi pemanfaatan media blog wordpress efektif, berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis cerpen siswa kelas XI SMAN 04 Kota Bengkulu. Namun, pelaksanaannya belum maksimal dan perlu di lakukan peningkatan pemahaman siswa mengenai manfaat Blog Wordpress. Terdapat pengaruh signifikan pembelajaran melalui pemanfaatan media blog Wordpress terhadap keterampilan menulis teks cerpen siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 4 Bengkulu.

Abstract

Dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia guru akan menerapkan beberapa strategi dalam pengajarannya, materi puisi rakyat merupakan salah satu bagian dari sastra. Salah satu strategi yang cocok yang dapat diterapkan pada pembelajaran materi satra puisi rakyat yakni strategi bimbingan kritik apresiasi sastra (BKAS). Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yakni untuk mengetahui strategi yang diterapkan dalam pengajaran materi sastra puisi rakyat pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia oleh guru di SMP N 5 Kota Bengkulu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dengan melakukan Observasi guru, siswa dan kelas, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru bidang studi bahasa Indonesia dan siswa kelas VII G SMPN 5 Kota Bengkulu. Teknik keabsahan data yaitu triangulasi sumber dengan cara penegecekan data yang diperoleh. Materi puisi rakyat merupakan materi yang didalamnya terkandung karya sastra lama yang keberadaannya sudah ada sejak lama dan bersifat turun menurun. Merupakan salah satu warisan budaya bahasa yang patut juga dijaga dan diapresiasi keberadaannya. Puisi rakyat selain dapat dikaji secara pembelajaran atau ilmiah, juga dapat dipetik hikmah yang terkandung didalamnya. Maka dari itu peserta didik yang mempelajari sastra puisi rakyat selain mendapatkan pembelajaran teoritis juga mendapat nilai-nilai luhur yang terkandung didalam puisi rakyat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan peneliti kepada guru dan siswa Kelas VII G SMPN 5 Kota Bengkulu. Strategi yang digunakan oleh guru SMPN 5 Kota Bengkulu merupakan strategi BKAS meliputi kegiatan membaca, menyimak, melisankan atau mengoralkan, menulis dan menjawab pertanyaan. Strategi yang diterapkan sudah terbukti baik dengan adanya indikator penilaian yang tercapai dan dilihat dari proses pembelajaran yang berlangsung baik. Guru sebagai fasilitator utama dalam pemelajaran merupakan kunci berhasilya sebuah pebelajaran, dengan adanya guru yang profesional maka taraf keberhasilan dan perkembangan peserta didik dapat terjadi.
