Abstract

Abstract

The target of achieving exclusive breastfeeding is still difficult to achieve optimally due to several things including disruption or non-smooth milk expenditure. Data in Indonesia shows exclusive breastfeeding coverage is only 42%. Various efforts were made, one of which was by exploring the potential of bangun-bangun leaf herbs to increase breast milk production. The purpose of this study was to measure the effectiveness of the bangun-bangun leaf intervention on breast milk production. This research was quasy experimental design. The location used for this research is in the PMB Mendawaty working area in May - June 2023. The study sample was 32 post partum in which there were 16 control groups and 16 intervention groups giving bangun-bangun leaf extract. The bivariate analysis used is the Chi-Square test. The results of the chi-square analysis resulted in an odds ratio value (OR: 2.14; 95% Confident Interval 1.08 – 4.23; p value 0.033) it can be concluded that giving bangun-bangun leaf extract can increase breast milk production up to 2 times compared to not consuming bangun-bangun leaves and is statistically significant.

Abstract

Inadequate breast milk production can cause breastfeeding to stop before the baby is 6 months old. One effort that can be done to stimulate the hormones prolactin and oxytocin in the mother. There are 2 non-pharmacological ways to maximize the production of prolactin and oxytocin, namely Woolwich massage and rolling back massage. The purpose of this study was to look at the effectiveness of Woolwich massage and rolling back on the expenditure or quantity of breast milk. This research is a type of intervention research with experimental quasy design. The location used for this study is in the working area of the midwife clinic Rahmawati Serang – Banten in June – July 2023. The samples used in this study were 15 people as the woolwich group and 15 postpartum mothers as the rolling back group. The bivariate analysis used in this study was to determine whether there was a relationship with the Chi-Square test. In the rolling massage group there were 10 respondents (33.3%) and not much different in the Woolwich massage group also the majority of breast milk volume >500 ml there were 11 (36.7%) respondents. Analysis results (OR: 0.73; 95% Confident Interval 0.15 – 3.49; p value 0.690).

Abstract

Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is one of the risk factors that can increase mortality with a prevalence of about 82% when bleeding occurs. Information on how influential maternal characteristics are to the incidence of DIC in postpartum mothers will be very useful in detecting and performing care, however. Indonesian researchers are still lacking in conducting studies on the impact and influence of maternal characteristics with the incidence of DIC on postpartum mothers. The purpose of this meta-analysis was to find out what factors influence the incidence of DIC in postpartum mothers. Primary data is obtained by searching several indexing including: PubMed, Science Direct, Web of Science, Springer Link and Cochrane Database. By using the search keywords "factor associated AND DIC", "characteristic AND DIC", " post partum AND DIC AND adjusted odds ratio", and "factors AND DIC AND adjusted odds ratio" . Inclusion criteria, including: Full paper article with observational study design from 2018-2023. Covid-19 infection and DIC gave Odds Ratio results (OR 2.32; 95% CI: 1.67 – 3.22; p value < 0.001). Hypertension and DIC Odds Ratio (OR 2.17; 95% CI: 0.84 – 5.58; p value < 0.11). and eclampsia and DIC give an Odds Ratio result (OR 24.64; 95% CI: 6.50– 93.39; p value < 0.001).

Abstract

Background: The mortality of 88% of infants due to infection can be reduced by breastfeeding, but the lack of understanding of the importance of breastfeeding for infants has resulted in the exclusive breastfeeding program not taking place optimally. Mother's understanding in breastfeeding cannot be separated from various factors that influence it.Objective: This study aims to determine the factors related to exclusive breastfeeding in Sukamerta Village, Rawamerta District in 2022.Methods: This research method used an observational analytic research design with a cross sectional design with independent variables including age, education, occupation, parity, and gestational distance, while the dependent variable is exclusive breastfeeding. The population in this study were mothers who had babies aged 6-12 totaling 52 people using a purposive sampling technique and a total sample that made the entire population as a sample. Data analysis was performed using univariate analysis to explain the characteristics of the study and bivariate analysis using SPSS chy-square test.Result: The results of this study found that the relationship between age and exclusive breastfeeding was seen as the Asymp.sign value of 0.120, because the p-value was 0.120 > 0.05. The relationship between education and exclusive breastfeeding shows the Asymp.sign value of 0.456, because the p-value is 0.456 > 0.05. The relationship between employment and exclusive breastfeeding is seen as the Asymp.sign value of 0.000, because the p-value is 0.000 <0.05. The relationship between parity and exclusive breastfeeding was seen as the Asymp.sign value of 0.011 because the p-value was 0.011 < 0.05. The relationship between pregnancy distance and exclusive breastfeeding was seen as the Asymp.sign value of 0.001 because the p-value was 0.001 < 0.05.Conclusions: The conclusion of this study is that there is no relationship between age and education with exclusive breastfeeding, but there is a relationship between work, parity, and distance between pregnancies and exclusive breastfeeding
