Abstract

This research aims to analyse the phenomenon of overreaction anomaly, characterised by differences in cumulative average abnormal returns between winner stock portfolios and loser stock portfolios on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). The sample used in the research included shares of companies in JII70 and was selected using purposive sampling techniques to obtain 12 company shares. The method for calculating abnormal returns in this research uses the market-adjusted model. In addition, an independent sample t-test was chosen as a statistical test to test the difference between cumulative average abnormal return winners and cumulative average abnormal return losers. The results of this study show that the overreaction anomaly phenomenon of the three formations (monthly, quarterly, and semester) only occurs in the monthly formation.

Questionnaires were distributed to 100 respondents randomly who work from home (or hybrid), spread across Jakarta city and the suburban towns from various industries. Tests were carried out using multiple regression methods, step test, and sign test to see differences in communication attitudes between downward and upward. The results of the study show that downward, upward and horizontal communication have a partial effect on the job satisfaction of employees who work from home. Furthermore, from the results of the step test analysis it was found that horizontal communication was the biggest contributor to job satisfaction. The results of the sign test indicated that there were differences between downward and upward communication, it can be concluded that upward communication is more open, more empathetic, and more supportive than downward communication.

Abstract

Employee job satisfaction is a critical factor influencing organizational performance and effectiveness, particularly in public sector institutions such as the Civil Service Police Unit. A positive work environment and career development opportunities are known to enhance employee engagement, motivation, and productivity, while workload has been identified as a potential stressor that can undermine job satisfaction. This study investigates the effects of the work environment, career development, and workload on the job satisfaction of employees at the Civil Service Police Unit in Barito Kuala Regency. The study involved a sample of 45 employees, and data were analyzed to assess the relationships between these variables. The findings reveal that both the work environment and career development have a positive and significant impact on job satisfaction. In contrast, workload does not have a significant effect on job satisfaction. These results suggest that fostering a supportive and well-structured work environment, along with offering opportunities for career development, can significantly enhance employee satisfaction and contribute to organizational success. Meanwhile, workload management alone may not be a key determinant of job satisfaction in this context, highlighting the need for a more holistic approach to employee well-being. These insights can inform human resource policies and management strategies aimed at improving job satisfaction and optimizing employee performance in public service agencies
