Abstract

The state of the nurse's workload in the emergency department needs to be known for its quantity and quality. If the number of tasks is not proportional to the ability of both physical and expertise and the time available, it will be a source of stress. The study aimed to determine the workload with work stress in nurses in the emergency room. Quantitative research with a correlation descriptive approach, with a sample of 29 respondents using a daily log study measuring instrument. The statistics test results show a workload with a p-value of 0.000. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between workload and the work stress of nurses in the emergency room. Recommendations for nurses need effective and constructive self-management so that there is a high workload and nurse work stress can be effectively controlled to not impact the quality of service.

Abstract

Anemia is a significant health problem among adolescent girls, mainly due to increased iron demand during growth and menstruation. SKI data in 2023 states that the prevalence of teenage anemia is 21%. This service aims to reduce the prevalence of anemia in adolescent girls through the socialization of the CARE Application (Prevent Teenage Anemia) and the provision of blood supplement tablets at MTsN Pangkep. This activity involved 60 female students as participants, with methods that included health education through videos, hemoglobin checks, anthropometric measurements (weight, height, upper arm circumference), and distribution of blood supplement tablets by the local Puskesmas. The community service team acted as facilitators, with support from UKS teachers and Puskesmas health workers. The results showed that the structured and collaborative approach effectively increased understanding of anemia and improved adolescent girls' health status. The activity also strengthened health literacy among participants, which may contribute to a long-term reduction in anemia prevalence. In conclusion, multifaceted interventions that combine health education and nutritional supplementation are essential in preventing anemia in adolescent girls and need to be implemented more widely in other school settings to achieve a more significant impact.

Abstract

Indonesia is prone to natural disasters, such as geological and hydrometeorological disasters. This is because the geography, geology, hydrology, climate, and population conditions in Indonesia are prone to disasters caused by non-natural factors such as natural disasters and man-made disasters. Both can cause loss of life, environmental damage, property damage, and psychological impact. This service aims to increase the general community's knowledge of Senkom Mitra Polri, particularly regarding basic life support. The implementation method, namely education using practical modules and training using mannequins, was carried out on February 28, 2023, at the Baitul Ilmi student boarding school building, attended by 30 participants from Gowa Regency and Makassar City. The stages of training implementation consisted of registration of participants, pre-test, provision of material, simulation of basic life support practices by participants one by one with team assistance, post-test, and skills test. This activity involved a doctor with an emergency background providing general material related to basic life support. The results showed that 80% of the trainees understood the material provided. It is hoped that this activity can form a first responder community and increase the role of the community, especially the police partner Senkom in rescuing cardiac arrest patients.

Abstract

Stunting is one of the disorders in the growth of children affected by poor nutrition and the occurrence of recurrent infections, especially during the critical first two years of life. According to the WHO, a child is classified as stunting when his or her height relative to age exceeds the deviation standard based on the child's growth standard. The aim of this study is to identify a correlation between exclusive breastfeeding and the possibility of stunting in 12 to 60-month-old children in the Mangasa Puskesmas Working Region of Makassar City. This type of research is quantitative analytics using case control designs with a retrospective approach. The subjects in this study were 70 newspapers, consisting of 35 stunting as a treatment group (intervention) and 35 non-stopping as a control group. Univariate and bivariate analysis using chi-square tests. The results of the analyses showed that the newborn who received only milk (exclusive) but with a stunting category of 15 newborns (42,9%), while the newcomer who did not give milk exclusively and suffered stunting as much as 20 newcomers (57,1%). The result of the bivariate analysis shows that there is a correlation (relation) between giving milk only (exclusive) and the stunting condition (p-value=0,030). Research shows the need to provide education to improve mothers’ knowledge, especially in preparation for the first 1,000 days of life.
