Abstract

Mathematics is one of the subjects that trains students to think critically, logically, analytically, systematically, and creatively. One of the regulations of the Minister of Nation Education No.23 of 2006 years, about “graduate competency standards” is to have the ability to cooperate. One way to develop students’s critical thinking skills is to apply student oriented learning with open learning, Open Ended. The method in this study is an experimental method by applying an Open Ended learning model. The purpose of this study was to obtain data or information about the influence and general picture of students critical thinking skills after the application of Open Ended learning in teaching and learning in the classroom. In addition to get an overview of students respones to the application of Open Ended. This study took the population class V MI Al-Falahiyah Kedungrejo-Kerek-Tuban lesson years 2019/2020. This study uses the population as a score of data because the number of students studied is less than 100 students. Namely fifth grade students, amuting to 20 students. The instruments used as data collection were questionnaires and test of mathematical critical thinking skills in fraction subjects. The statistical test used was a t-test with a pre test and post test one group design. Students whos responded to learning with who Open Ended model with a score range’s of 25-27by 10%, a range scores of 28-30 by 15%, a range scores 31-33 by 30%, a range scores of 34-36 by 15%, and 37-39 by 30%. With 11 students who responded well, and 9 students who responded very good, to the Open Ended learning model. Hypothesis test results with the t-test t hitung > t tabel (2,109>2,029). While the average value of students mathematic critical thinking ability of students is categorized as moderate or sufficient.

Abstract

Learning is a way for someone to gain knowledge through experience, remembering, and getting information / finding. Teaching through providing experience in finding his own knowledge, it is hoped that these lessons will be meaningful for students. This study aims to find out about the application of inquiry learning models, improve student learning achievement through inquiry models, student responses to the application of inquiry learning models in science subjects the subject matter of life cycle in class V MI Sunan Kalijogo Wolutengah Kerek District, Tuban lesson year 2017/2018. This research is a type of Classroom Action Research (Action Classroom Research). The data in this study are data on increasing the learning achievement of science subjects in the life cycle with inquiry learning models. Data analysis was carried out by observing student activities, questionnaires to determine student responses that were calculated in the form of percentages, and data from student evaluation results. From the implementation of this study the results were obtained (1) that the application of inquiry learning models in science learning the subject matter of the life cycle of living things can improve student learning achievement. The increase can be seen from the learning outcomes achieved by students in the first cycle and second cycle which are significant. (2) student learning achievement has increased after the implementation of inquiry learning models. After the application of the inquiry learning model in the first cycle the average value of students was 62.63, in the second cycle it increased to 81.84. Increased activity of students in observation or group discussion, in the first cycle 52.63%, in the second cycle to 84.21%. The accuracy of completing the chart or table of observation in the first cycle is 57.89%, in the second cycle becomes 84.21%. The activity at presentation in the first cycle was 15.79%, increasing in the second cycle to 57.89%. The intensity of play alone decreased from 31.58% to 15.79% in cycle II. (3) Positive student responses, indicated by 17 students (89.47%) liked the application of the inquiry learning model, and 2 students (10.53%) did not like because they felt left behind from their friends. The results of this class action research can be categorized as successful in its implementation. The conclusions from the results of this study that the application of inquiry learning models in science subjects the subject matter of the life cycle in class V MI Sunan Kalijogo Wolutengah Kerek District, Tuban Regency 2017/2018 school year can improve student learning achievement.

Abstract

Learning of reading provides students with the knowledge and ability to master reading techniques, and capture the reading content well and be able to write it correctly. Reading activities become part of human life in everyday life, through reading activities we can find knowledge, and open insights.This study aims to describe students' reading ability with the application of fast-reading smart books that have previously been developed in previous research. The method in this study is a quantitative approach with a type of experimental research that uses pre test post test design. The subjects in this study were grade 1 students of SD Islam Terpadu Asslafiyyah Pambon Tuban with a total of 7 students. The results of the student's research were completed with KKM ≥70 with a percentage of student completion obtained by 100%. After the calculation of The Normality Gain Test explained that the improvement of learning outcomes obtained an increase in the high category with the number of 5 students, and moderate 2 students. Psychomotor observations gained an average of 94. So it can be said that the use of Smart Book Quick Read that has been in grade 1 of SD Islam Terpadu Assalafiyyah Pambon Tuban can improve the cognitive and psychomotor learning outcomes of students

Abstract

This research is aims to develop teaching materials that meet the needs of students. This teaching material as a learning support to improve students' reading skills so that students are able to read and write. This textbook is in the form of “Quick Read Smart Books”. The procedure for developing this fast-reading smart book consists of three stages, namely Define, Design, Develop. This smart book was assessed by two validators, namely a media expert validator and a material expert validator to determine the feasibility of the product. Then carried out the observation of the implementation of learning to obtain data and determine the practicality of the product. Furthermore, there are pretest-posttest questions and student response questionnaires to determine the effectiveness of the product.

Abstract

In the 21st century, several abilities needed to deal with development. In learning mathematics, mathematical literacy skills are vital requirements nowadays. Because with mathematical literacy skills we can analyze, reason, and communicate ideas effectively when formulating, solving, and interpreting problems mathematically in various situations in real life. So it is important to teach mathematical literacy skills from the primary education. The use of the STEM approach in learning mathematics can be used to improve mathematical literacy skills. Because the STEM approach integrates several disciplines including science, engineering, engineering and mathematics. In this article compiled using Library Research, the collected literacy was extracted from relevant journal article sources. The data collection procedure uses the documentation method, the data that has been collected will then be analyzed using data reduction techniques, content analysis, and drawing conclusions. Obtained STEM is an integration of learning from various disciplines. Core competencies that can be trained with STEM include problem solving, innovation and creativity, communication, critical thinking, metacognition, self-regulation and discipline. STEM-based mathematics learning can be designed by determining subject titles, subject descriptions, objectives, prerequisite knowledge, linking with technical materials, lists of learning resources and tools and materials.

Abstract

The ability to think critically and creatively is one of the priority abilities that the millennial generation must have in the 21st century. Efforts to improve students' critical and creative thinking abilities have been found through various learning approaches and models. However, before choosing the right type of approach and learning model in science learning, teachers are required to carry out initial mapping of students' critical and creative thinking abilities so that the chosen learning approach and model is more optimal and efficient. This research aims to describe the level of critical and creative thinking abilities of fourth grade students in science learning at MINU Hidayatun Najah Tuban with a total of 32 students as participants. The research design used is quantitative, survey-based on data that has been collected through test sheet and documentation methods. As a result, even though science learning for grade IV students at MINU Hidayatun Najah Tuban has used student-centered learning, the students' critical thinking abilities are still in the low category. On the other hand, students' creative thinking abilities are considered to be good. Thus, not all learning approaches and models are suitable for improving students' critical and creative thinking abilities, especially in science learning. For this reason, before implementing certain learning approaches and models in science learning, it is recommended to measure students' initial abilities that will be developed so that teachers can choose learning approaches and models according to their needs.
