Abstract

Tilapia is one type of freshwater fish that is very popular with people North Maluku community, and has potential economic value to be developed in North Maluku. The production target for consumption needs is still very far from the target requirement. This research was conducted to evaluate the performance of the hormone ovaprim, fecundity, fertilization rate, hatching rate in tilapia. This study was designed using a completely randomized design (CRD). The results showed that the highest degree of healing was found in treatment C at a dose of 0.6 ml/gr bt (85.19%) then treatment B at a dose of 0.4 ml/gr bt (82.78%) A dose 0.2 ml/grm bt of (77%), and dose D (control) did not occur spawning. From the analysis of variance data showed that treatment C at a dose of 0.6 ml/grm bt gave a very significant effect on the percentage of fertilization of tilapia eggs on the value (F count = 117 > F table 0.01 = 7.59

Abstract

The Mandaong River is a river flow that originates from the springs of Mount Sibela which until now has not been known with certainty the upstream point of the Mandaong River. This river flows through 3 (three) villages, namely Mandaong Village which is a downstream area, Makean Village Village and Papaloang Village which is an area of the Mandaong River body. Taking into account the position of the Mandaong River which flows from the mountains through plantations and settlements, it is estimated that it will receive some input from both natural processes and from the activities of the surrounding community such as bathing, washing, excavating sand, agriculture and settlements. Disposal of domestic waste, organic and inorganic waste so that there will be a decrease in the quality of river water in the form of physical, chemical and biological aspects. This study aims to determine the water quality of the Mandaong river based on physical, chemical and biological parameters and to determine the status of the water quality of the Mandaong river for the development of freshwater fish farming. The method of collecting water quality data on physical and chemical parameters was measured directly in the field and water samples were taken for further testing in the laboratory. For macroinvertebrate sampling by using nets /nets hand, the laying of nets is carried out systematically on the left, middle and right bank of the river at each predetermined station. Based on the results of measurements of the water temperature in the Mandaong river, it ranges from 25°C–27°C, Flow Speed ranges from 1.02–2.06, River depth ranges from 45–97 cm. and water pH ranged from 6.76-7.31, DO content ranged from 6.31-6.78, BOD content ranged from 0.10-5.63, nitrate content ranged from 0.361-2.068, phosphate content ranged from 4.506 –6.753, ammonia content in the range of 0.002, detergent content in the range of 50. Family Biotic Index (FBI) values ranged from 3.36-4.16. The FBI index value shows that the water quality of the Mandaong River is in the very good category with the level of pollution not polluted by organic matter at stations 1 and 2, while at station 3 it is in the very good category with a slightly polluted level of organic matter. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded from this study that the testing of physical, chemical and biological parameters in research on the Mandaong river shows that the level of river water pollution is included in the very good category. Therefore, the water quality of the Mandaong River can be developed for freshwater fish farming activities.

Abstract

Vaname shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) cultivation is a promising business. Biofloc technology is an alternative to solve the problem of intensive aquaculture waste. Biofloc technology is able to provide additional protein feed for cultivated animals so that it can increase growth, besides that this technology is also effective in reducing inorganic nitrogen waste from leftover feed and manure. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different doses of biofloc on the growth rate of Vannamei Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) and the effect of different doses of biofloc on the survival of Vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). The method used is the experimental method. Experiments carried out in this study were to determine the effect of biofloc with different doses on the growth rate of white shrimp. The study design was a completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications, treatment A (commercial feeding without the addition of biofloc), treatment B (giving commercial feed with the addition of 15 mL of biofloc) C (feeding commercially with the addition of 20 mL of biofloc). ) and D (addition of 20 mL of biofloc without commercial feeding). Vaname shrimp seed stocking density for each treatment amounted to 15 fish/container. The application of biofloc had a significant effect on the growth rate of daily specific average weight and the increase in length of Vaname shrimp seeds (p<0.05). The highest growth rates in weight and length were obtained in treatment B (commercial feeding with the addition of 10 mL of biofloc) of 0.55±0.02%/day and 3.7±0.01 cm, respectively. The addition of biofloc did not show any significant effect on the survival rate of Vaname shrimp fry (p>0.05).

Abstract

Serving fish is one type of fish that has economic value and is included in the resources of small pelagic fish. In North Maluku, Ternate, scad fish are caught using pajeko and bagang fishing gear, the catches obtained by fishermen are directly sold without any processing. Therefore, the activity of empowering the creative economy of the community through training in making scad fish jerky aims to increase knowledge and skills about processing scad fish into products that are durable and quality is maintained and get products that have different flavors. In this activity, the participants came from Jambula Village, District of South Ternate City, which consisted of 25 people and consisted of 3 business groups. The method of carrying out this activity is by practicing surgery, washing, drying, mixing spices and blanching and drying carried out by participants by utilizing the materials provided. The results obtained from this activity are that the participants can master the technology of processing fish into processed products that have different tastes, and can improve the community's economy.

Abstract

The mangrove area around Lake Yonelo is a unique and potential area, but the area tends to be threatened by increasing mining activities in the area. Management of the mangrove area around Lake Yenelo as an ecotourism area is an alternative form as an innovative effort to maintain environmental functions as a provider of environmental services in order to remain sustainable. The purpose of this study was to determine the suitability of the tourist area and the carrying capacity of the area as well as the types of activities in the mangrove ecotourism area. The method used is a survey method, using the analysis of the tourism suitability index (IKW) and the carrying capacity of the area (DDK). The results of the analysis of the suitability index of the Yenelo Lake area are classified as very suitable for developing mangrove ecotourism activities, while the results of the analysis of the carrying capacity of the area are 412 people/day with the carrying capacity of the utilization of 42 people/day with the types of activities, namely tracking, picnicking, sitting relaxed, photography and education in along 844 m of mangrove area. The contribution of this type of activity will provide new job opportunities for the community around the mine which will certainly affect the welfare level of the community around the mine in the North Weda District.

Abstract

Comet fish (Carasius auratus) is one type of ornamental fish that is very popular with consumers and has commercial value because it has various shapes and colors such as yellow, white, black and red. Efforts to obtain the percentage of females can be done by sex transfer by immersing the larvae in purwoceng extract. Purwoceng extract (pimpinella alpina) is an aphrodisiac plant that contains compounds related to phytosteroids, such as stigmasterol which functions to improve sexual quality. This study used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications, the dose used was treatment A without dose (control), B dose 10 mg/l, C dose 15 mg/l, D dose 25 mg/l. The results showed that the highest percentage of female fish was present in the treatment dose (B) 10 mg of purwoceng extract, which was 45.94%, followed by treatment A 42.39%, treatment C 24.36%, treatment D 10.83%. While the highest growth was found in treatment D, namely 1.115 g, followed by C 0.820 g, B, 0.910 and A 0.785.
