Abstract

Rewataya Village is situated on Tanakeke Island, within the Takalar Regency. Despite its significance, previous studies have not addressed the mapping of changes in mangrove land area within this locale. The present research aimed to fill this gap by assessing alterations in mangrove land area from 2013 to 2023, alongside examining density and canopy cover conditions. The method employed for mapping changes in land area entailed utilizing the unsupervised method with maximum likelihood classification. Additionally, the assessment of mangrove conditions involved employing plot line transects to determine species density and hemispherical photography methods to evaluate canopy cover. Notably, two types of mangroves, namely Rhizophora mucronata and Rhizophora apiculata, are prevalent in this village. The mangrove species density in Rewataya Village, Tanakeke Island, is categorized as good. In addition, the canopy cover in Rewataya Village falls within the classification of very dense according to mangrove damage criteria. However, there has been a notable reduction in the mangrove ecosystem area between 2013 and 2023, with a decrease of 42.28 hectares (from 367.13 hectares to 324.84 hectares).Keywords: MangroveLandsat 8Rewataya villageUnsupervised

Abstract

Meosbekwan Island is one of the outermost islands of Indonesia which is administratively located in the Raja Ampat district. Generally, the Meosbekwan people work as fishermen who use boats less than 12 meters in size as the main means of transportation. Most ships are made of Fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) or Fiberglass-reinforced Polymer Composite Materials. The condition of the area, surrounded by coral reefs, so that many ships were damaged because they hit the reef. The ship repair process is very difficult, because the condition of the area is far from urban areas. In general, the ship repair process adjusts to the level of damage. On the island of Meosbekwan, the ship's damage to the lower hull was torn and porous. The use of appropriate repair standards, needs to be applied so that the ship provides a sense of security and comfort for users. The procedure for repairing a damaged fiberglass boat consists of removing the outer layer until a solid part is found, then filling the damaged part with a resin-catalyst alloy reinforced with fiberglass Woven Roven 600 and Chopped Strand Mat 450. The number and variety of layers are adjusted by reference. The repair method used is the Hand Lay Up method. During the activity, one of the boats was completed together with the fishing community of Meosbekwan Island.

Abstract

Domine Eduard Osok Airport is a Class I Airport in the city of Sorong which is experiencing quite rapid development. This fairly rapid development has made airport managers think of ways to be able to provide maximum service to airport users. One of these services is to reduce the occurrence of the Urban Heat Island (UHI) phenomenon in the airport area by placing several types of materials around the airport. Several types of heat-absorbing materials are natural or synthetic materials that are used to withstand high temperatures. Nature provides a choice of materials that can be applied in this effort. Raw materials contained in nature will later be processed or used directly as an effort to reduce heat. The city of Sorong is a city that has problems with the occurrence of the UHI phenomenon because recently it has experienced an increase in population. To reduce the heat generated, various materials are used to be applied. These materials include Cast concrete, Asphalt, Soil, and Paving Materials. In this study, the material performance in reducing heat is determined for the four materials. The measuring instrument used is a measuring instrument commonly used to measure temperature. Measurements were made from morning to night. The results obtained are that cast concrete material has better performance compared to other types of materials when applied as a heat-absorbing material in buildings. Meanwhile, paving material is a good material if applied as a road material. With the average temperature produced for each material morning=25.20C, afternoon=26.20C, afternoon=26.60C, and night 25.90C and morning=32.70C, afternoon=33.90C, afternoon=29.00C, and night 28.8 0C.
