Abstract

This study aims to investigate the challenges in understanding da'wah models in the context of Qur'anic guidance and social change. The lack of comprehensive research in this field has been a major obstacle in understanding the extent to which da'wah models conform to the teachings of the Qur'an. Problems such as inconsistencies in definitions and assessment parameters, limitations of empirical data, as well as gaps in understanding of Qur'anic guidance and integration of Qur'anic concepts in da'wah models are the main focus of this study. With the rapid pace of change in social and technological contexts, it is also necessary to understand how da'wah models can adapt to these changes while remaining in line with Qur'anic values. Advanced research in this field will provide a better understanding of how to practice da'wah in accordance with the guidance of the Qur'an, as well as the challenges and opportunities faced in the context of ongoing social change. In solving these problems, the author uses a qualitative approach, data is collected through documents and then the data is filtered and analyzed. The data analysis technique is carried out through the content analysis method. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there are various forms of technical words introduced by the Qur'an that are in line with the meaning of da'wah. The variety of words that have the same meaning as the meaning of da'wah can be understood that the Qur'an has such a rich vocabulary that the use of words is more diverse. In addition, in its implementation, da'wah can be seen from multiple points of view so that it must use words that are more in accordance with the human conditions faced. Among some specific criteria or characteristics that distinguish da'wah verses from other groups of verses are: da'wah verses contain basic norms that are global; contains elements of clear commandments (sharih al-amr) and prohibitions (sharih al-nahy); the connection of da'wah verses with matters of creed, morals, muamalah, including wa‟ad and wa‟id; and the da'wah verses in the Qur'an also use broad, flexible, firm and accurate language.

Abstract

Abstrak. Bidang kajian ilmu balaghah terbagi menjadi tiga cabang besar salah satunya adalah ilmu badi’, yaitu ilmu yang mempelajari tentang bahasa yang indah dan menarik ketika akan menyampaikan suatu maksud, untuk memperindah makna disebut dengan muhassinat ma’nawiyah dan untuk memperindah lafadz dikenal dengan muhassinat lafdziyyah. Thibaq merupakan kaidah yang mempelajari tentang keindahan makna (muhassinat ma’nawiyah). Penelitian ini berfokus pada penerapan kaidah thibaq pada salah satu surah dalam Al-Qur’an yaitu surah Al-Anbiya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pertentangan lafal dan makna pada surah al-Anbiya serta makna ayat yang terdapat lafal thibaq. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif karena jenis penelitiannya merupakan penelitian kepustakaan (library research), Teknik pengumpulan data adalah dengan metode dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ayat-ayat yang terdapat kaidah thibaq didalam surah al-Anbiya’ yakni ada 17 ayat, dari keseluruhan ayat yang terdapat kaidah thibaq as-salb wa al-ijab ada 1 ayat , thibaq haqiqah ada 15 ayat dan thibaq ma’nawi ada 1 ayat. Adapun makna thibaq pada surah al-Anbiya sudah diterangkan pada penafsiran ayat dalam analisa dan bentuk thibaq telah dicantumkan termasuk thibaq lafdzi dan thibaq ma’nawi. Abstract. The field of study balaghah is divided into three major branches, one of which is badi’s science, which is learning about beautiful and interesting language when it will convey a meaning, to magnify the meaning called with muhassinat ma’nawiyah, and to magnify lafadz known with muhassinat lafdziyyah. Thibaq is a doctrine that studies the beauty of meaning (muhassinat ma’nawiyah). This study focuses on the application of thibaq to one of suras in the Qur’an, the surah al-Anbiya. The purpose this study is to know the contradiction of lafal and the meaning of the surah al-Anbiya and the significance of the verse that is lafal thibaq. The research method used is qualitative descriptive because the type of research is library research, data collection techniques are documentation methods. There are 17 verses in the Qur’an, of which there is one thibaq al-ijab wa as-salb, there are 15 verses thibaq haqiqah, and there is only one thibaq ma’nawi. The meaning of the Qur’an has been explained in the interpretation of the verse in the analysis and the form of thibaq has been listed including the thibaq lafdzi and thibaq ma’nawi.

Abstract

Tanwir al-Miqbas min Tafsir Ibni ‘Abbas by Al-Fairuzabadi is a classical tafsir (Quranic exegesis) that compiles the interpretative methodology of Ibnu ‘Abbas and offers a unique perspective in tafsir studies. This study aims to deepen understanding of the interpretative methodology in "Tanwir al-Miqbas," detailing how Ibnu ‘Abbas interpreted the Quran as compiled by Al-Fairuzabadi. Utilizing a qualitative approach and bibliographic research, this study relies on primary and secondary data sources for a descriptive analysis of Al-Fairuzabadi’s biography, interpretative methodology, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of "Tanwir al-Miqbas" tafsir. It reveals that this exegesis emphasizes a global (ijmali) explanation of Quranic verses using popular and accessible language, incorporating narrations of Ibnu ‘Abbas in interpretation. Although considered a tafsir bil ma'tsur, it exhibits broader exploration on certain verses. "Tanwir al-Miqbas" presents an important perspective in tafsir studies, merging ijmali and linguistic interpretative methodologies that directly refer to Prophet Muhammad. Despite questions regarding the validity of its sanad (chain of transmission), this work remains a significant contribution to Quranic exegesis literature.Abstract: Kitab Tanwir al-Miqbas min Tafsir Ibni ‘Abbas karya Al-Fairuzabadi merupakan salah satu tafsir klasik yang menghimpun metodologi penafsiran Ibnu ‘Abbas dan menawarkan perspektif unik dalam studi tafsir. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk memperdalam pemahaman tentang metodologi penafsiran dalam Tanwir al-Miqbas, menguraikan cara Ibnu ‘Abbas menafsirkan Al-Quran yang dikompilasi oleh Al-Fairuzabadi. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan penelitian kepustakaan, penelitian ini mengandalkan sumber data primer dan sekunder untuk analisis deskriptif tentang biografi Al-Fairuzabadi, metodologi penafsiran, serta kelebihan dan kekurangan tafsir Tanwir al-Miqbas. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa kitab tafsir ini menekankan penjelasan global (ijmali) ayat-ayat Al-Quran menggunakan bahasa yang populer dan mudah dipahami, menggabungkan riwayat Ibnu ‘Abbas dalam penafsiran. Meski dianggap sebagai tafsir bil ma'tsur, terdapat eksplorasi lebih luas pada ayat tertentu. Kitab Tanwir al-Miqbas menawarkan perspektif penting dalam studi tafsir, menggabungkan metodologi penafsiran ijmali dan linguistik yang merujuk langsung kepada Nabi Muhammad SAW. Meskipun ada pertanyaan mengenai validitas sanad, karya ini tetap berkontribusi signifikan dalam literatur tafsir Al-Quran

Abstract

Surah Ar-Ra'd, the 13th chapter of the Quran, offers profound guidance and wisdom for humanity, encompassing various aspects of life. Within this surah, verse 8 introduces the term "Arham," derived from the root word رحم (raḥima), signifying mercy and compassion. "Arham" is intricately linked to Allah's attributes of mercy and encompasses all aspects of creation, including kinship relations and the womb. This article delves into the scientific indications embedded in Surah Ar-Ra'd, verse 8, particularly focusing on the interpretation of "Arham" as the womb and its correlation with modern medical instrumentation technology. Drawing from thematic interpretation methodologies, this article examines the theme of the Quran, identifies relevant verses, and prioritizes discussions based on Quranic language style. The thematic analysis of "Arham" unfolds through the lens of medical instrumentation technology, elucidating the advancements in understanding the womb's structure, health, and predictive capabilities. By integrating qualitative literature-based methods, the discussion not only presents factual information but also explores the underlying meanings and implications of "Arham." This thematic interpretation aims to enhance understanding and appreciation of the Quran's guidance while highlighting the compatibility between religious teachings and scientific advancements. The discussion underscores the significance of embracing both spiritual and scientific knowledge in enriching human comprehension and addressing societal issues.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the mapping of the development and research directions of various articles related to Quranic interpretation in publications indexed in the Scopus database. This includes methods, products, interpreters, and their implementations. The method employed is bibliometric analysis, which explores all publications indexed in the Scopus database from 1994 to 2023. Subsequently, the data is analyzed using Excel and R/R-Studio. Further analysis is carried out using VOSviewer to visually analyze keyword occurrences and document citations simultaneously. Based on the various analyses conducted, the authors found 189 publications that met the defined criteria, indicating an annual growth rate of 3.86%, with the highest number of publications in the year 2022. Malaysia contributed the most publications, with affiliations from the National University of Malaysia. Ibrahim, M. and Kadir, M.N.A. emerged as the most productive authors in the field of Quranic interpretation. The journals that published the most on the theme of Quranic interpretation were Cumhuriyet Ilahiyat Dergisi, Al Bayan, and Journal of Qur'anic Studies. It is important to note that this bibliometric analysis was limited to Scopus data, and other national and international databases were not considered in this study. This research provides a brief overview of literature accessible to researchers working in the field of Quranic interpretation and offers recommendations for future research.

Abstract

Purpose: The focus of this study is to understand the pattern and direction of development in the study of the Qur'an and health in publications listed in the Scopus index. Methodology: This study utilizes bibliometric analysis methods to investigate all works recorded in the Scopus database on the Qur'an and Health from 1981 to 2023. The collected data was analyzed using Excel and R/R-Studio programs. VOSviewer is used to perform visual analysis of keywords and document citations. Results: The results found by the authors are several 238 publications that fit the function, subject, and criteria set. The results of this study showed an annual growth rate of 5.88% with the most publications on the Qur'an and Health in 2020. Malaysia is the biggest publisher with affiliations from the International Islamic University Malaysia. Abooul-Enein, B.H., Al-Rowais, N., and Isgandarova, N. became the most prolific writers on the theme of the Qur'an and Health. This analysis is limited to Scopus data and does not use international or nationally based-data. Applications/Originality/Value: This study briefly outlines the literature available to researchers in the field of the Qur'an and Health.

Abstract

This study analyzes the negative impacts of alcohol consumption and online gambling activities through a qualitative approach using library research methods, with the Quran and its interpretations as primary sources. Data indicates a significant rise in alcohol consumption and online gambling cases, correlating with increased accidents, violence, liver disease, mental disorders, economic losses, and divorces. The Quran strictly prohibits alcohol and gambling due to their harmful effects on individuals and society. Proposed solutions include strengthening faith and piety, family and community development, strict law enforcement, da’wah and economic empowerment. This research highlights the relevance of the Quran's teachings to modern scientific findings in addressing these social problems. Abstract

In the contemporary era marked by existential and spiritual crises, a deep understanding of the nature of life has become increasingly important. The Qur'an, as the primary source of Islamic teachings, presents the concept of life through the term Al-Hayah. This study examines the meaning of the term Al-Hayah in the Qur'an using a thematic exegesis approach, with a focus on the work of Abdurrahman bin Nashir As-Sa’di, Tafsir As-Sa’di, as the main reference. The research employs a qualitative methodology with a literature review approach, involving the analysis of Qur'anic verses and related interpretations. The aim of the study is to explore and analyze the meaning of the term Al-Hayah, identify key themes, and understand its context and implications within the Qur'anic view. The findings indicate that the term Al-Hayah encompasses physical, eschatological, spiritual guidance, and existential dimensions of life, as well as the relationship between humans and Allah. As-Sa’di’s interpretation of Al-Hayah not only reflects classical understanding but also remains relevant to the context of modern life, making a significant contribution to thematic Qur'anic exegesis and the application of Qur'anic values in daily life.

Abstract

'Ibadurrahman is an Arabic term that consists of two words: Ibad and Rahman. This term has been discussed in the tafsir of Ibn Kathir and Tafsir Al-Misbah according to their interpretation patterns. Tafsir Ibn Kathir and Tafsir Al-Misbah have different approaches to interpreting the Qur'an. Tafsir Ibn Katsir is known for its textual and historical approach, while Tafsir Al-Misbah uses a contextual and sociological approach. Comparing these two interpretations provides a broader and deeper insight into the criteria of 'Ibadurrahman. This research was carried out to address this problem. Using the comparative method, it is concluded that, as a whole, these two interpretations provide a comprehensive and complementary view of the criteria of 'Ibadurrahman, with different approaches but equally enriching understanding of Islamic teachings. The term ibadurrahman in the Qur'an refers to the character of humility (Tawadhu'), not arrogant, authoritative, gentle and always dhikr, which must be built with sincerity. Thus fostering urgency in life to achieve a noble position in the sight of Allah. The position of a servant on the side of Allah has a high position until Allah SWT praises their position as equal to the prophets and auliyya' then Allah relies on the attributes inherent in them in His great verse so that they are glorified with their position.

Abstract

Angels are servants of Allah who are obedient in carrying out worship. Many Muslims are not yet aware of the importance of the role of angels in influencing daily life. This research aims to know and understand the duties of angels in Surah Ar Ra'd verse 11 and the implications for contemporary life. This research can be classified as a literature study, where data collection is carried out through reading, understanding and evaluating various references related to the topic qualitative research. The data collection method involves triangulation, with inductive data analysis. The author uses qualitative descriptive methods and content analysis, starting by explaining the general phenomenon regarding the duties of the angel Hafadzah in the Koran. Conclusions are drawn based on specific verses of the Qur'an and hadith. This research uses a data collection method involving the study of related literature which includes how angels function. Analysis is carried out through the synthesis of information from various sources to understand the relevance, effectiveness, research results show that the job of Angels in this verse is Angels who guard, all on the basis of Allah's orders. These angels are called Hafadzhah Angels. The implications of this research can contribute to knowledge of the Duties of Angels and a servant's faith in Angels related to faith and Implications for Life Contemporary.
