Abstract

One of the fire extinguishers commonly used in various places and also utilized in practical training for students in the Aircraft Accident Rescue Program (Diploma Three) is the Portable Fire Extinguisher (APAR). In their learning, students are not only taught how to use APAR but also about its working system, maintenance, and refilling process. A drawback of the current APAR refilling process is the frequent spillage of dry chemical powder (DCP) and inaccurate measurements. The aim of this research is to design an automatic APAR refilling device that can serve as a learning tool for students. The method used is VDI 2221 (Verein Deutscher Ingenieure), a systematic approach for solving problems and optimizing the use of materials and technology. The outcome of this research is the development of a comprehensive APAR refilling device that integrates the removal of old DCP, refilling with new DCP, and nitrogen charging. The test results showed that the process of suctioning DCP powder and filling nitrogen for a 6 kg cylinder takes 7 minutes and 50 seconds. This tool makes the APAR refilling process easier, minimizes DCP spillage, and saves time during the refilling process.

Abstract

Online marketing is one of the main strategies in increasing business income, including for traditional market traders in South Sulawesi. Although internet penetration in Indonesia, especially in South Sulawesi, continues to grow, many traditional market traders have not utilized digital potential to market their products. This study aims to explore online marketing activities implemented by traditional market traders in Gowa Regency, as well as to analyze their influence on increasing income and the factors that influence their success. Based on literature studies, the use of social media and e-commerce platforms has been shown to increase product visibility and attract more consumers, which in turn can increase sales. However, the adoption of digital technology among traditional market traders is still limited, mainly due to the lack of skills in managing social media accounts and digital platforms. This study uses a qualitative approach with interviews and observation methods of traders in traditional markets in Gowa Regency. The results of the study show that online marketing has a positive influence on increasing trader income, but the level of adoption varies based on factors such as age, education, and business experience. Therefore, digital marketing training and support from the government and trader associations are needed to accelerate the adoption of this technology. This study is expected to provide recommendations for the development of more effective digital marketing strategies for traditional market traders in South Sulawesi, in order to increase competitiveness and strengthen the local economy.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze online sales collaboration with traditional market traders in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi, and its impact on economic welfare. Along with the development of information technology, many traditional traders have difficulty competing with the modern market. Therefore, collaboration between traditional market traders and online sales platforms is considered an effective solution to increase competitiveness and income. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with a number of traditional market traders and online sales platform owners. The research results show that this collaboration not only increases market access for traders, but also helps them understand broader consumer behavior. Merchants involved in this collaboration reported significant increases in sales turnover and customer satisfaction. In addition, this research also identifies challenges faced by merchants in adapting new technology, including a lack of understanding of digital marketing and limited access to technological tools. Therefore, training and mentoring are important to ensure the success of this collaboration. By strengthening trader capacity, economic welfare can increase sustainably. Overall, online sales collaboration with traditional market traders in Gowa Regency has proven to have a positive impact on economic prosperity. It is hoped that these findings can become a reference for local government policies in supporting digital transformation for the traditional trade sector.
