Abstract

The present study focuses on the languages operating on the written signage that contribute directly to theformation of the linguistic landscape. The study chose Sunan Ampel Tomb in Surabaya, Indonesia, as one ofthe sites that has become a heritage conservation due to the history hidden in the site. This site is a part of the other sites in a series leading to the history of nine saints (Wali Songo) who brought Islam to Indonesia through one of the islands, Java. The study aimed at describing the linguistic landscape of the site to help learn about the languages operating on the signage found in Sunan Ampel Tomb complex and the hidden history leading to multilingual multilingualism in the area. By using a direct observation and interview to gather the data, the study informs that the sites are typically dominated with Indonesian language operating in monolingualsignage. Despite a few in number, the multilingual signage can still be found to depict several languages including English, Arabic, and Indonesian language. The domination of Bahasa Indonesian demonstrates the implementation of policy for using the language as the national language. While English and Arabic are used for the business purpose. The study also discovers the characteristics of the language displaying on the signage from the size of the fonts. In conclusion, linguistic landscape in Sunan Ampel Tomb describes the history of how the saint brought Islam to the society. Arabic artifacts stereotyping Islam existence can hardly be found here, and it becomes a proof the saint taught Islam without trying to change the already existing customs, cultures, and languages as well.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of Fiqh learning based on the Merdeka Curriculum at MAN 2 Kota Kediri, focusing on the planning, implementation, and evaluation aspects within the Islamic education subject. Using a qualitative method with a case study approach, this research involves in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis, including syllabi, lesson plans, and teaching materials. The findings reveal that the Merdeka Curriculum provides significant flexibility for teachers to design lessons that align with students' needs and characteristics. Teachers adopt various methods, such as Inquiry-Based Learning, Discovery Learning, and Problem-Based Learning, and utilize media and technology to enhance learning effectiveness. The integration of classical Islamic texts further strengthens students' understanding of Fiqh. The implementation process is characterized by interactive and contextual approaches, while evaluations are conducted both formatively and summatively to monitor student progress. However, key challenges include the development of teaching media and modules that meet curriculum standards. Regular supervision by the school principal serves as an effort to support innovation and improve teaching quality. This research concludes that the Merdeka Curriculum positively contributes to Fiqh learning in madrasahs and offers practical recommendations for improving the quality of Islamic education, particularly within the context of a modern curriculum framework.

Abstract

Deliberation is a form of cohesion and social unity in solving a problem. The Al-Qur'an itself has at least three verses that talk about consideration, using the terms Shura, Tasyawur and Syawir, each of which is contained in Surah Al-Syurah: 38, al-Baqarah: 233 and Ali Imran: 159. Therefore, one of the aims of the authors of this study is to find out what the views of the scholars and religious leaders are regarding meditation and how the verses regarding meditation are explained. This search is research conducted as part of a library research, namely by studying literature related to research. In addition, this study uses theory as an analytical tool, namely descriptive analysis. After examining the interpretations of Quraish Shihab in Al-Misbah and Hamka in the interpretations of Al-Azhar, Wahbah Al-Zuhail, Fakhruddin Alrazi, Sayyid Qutb and Muhammad Abduh according to reasoning, it can be concluded that deliberation is classified as things that are recommended in the Al-Qur’an because there are many benefit in it. As for how negotiations should be carried out, the Qur'an does not explain this in detail. According to Hamka, deliberations are world affairs whose deliberations are based on Maslaha and Mafsadat. Quraish Shihab explained that by not explaining in detail about the deliberations, this allowed the community to negotiate according to the times because it was not explained in detail how the deliberations process was carried out.

Abstract

Zakat plays a crucial role in fostering social welfare and reducing economic inequality. However, its implementation in rural areas, such as Desa Tapen, often faces challenges due to limited access to information and technology. In the digital era, zakat payments can be made more efficiently through QR CODE technology, specifically with the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) system developed by Bank Indonesia. Nevertheless, online zakat payments have not yet been implemented in Desa Tapen due to the community's lack of knowledge about the platform. Therefore, there is a need for socialization regarding the use of QRIS as a modern solution for online zakat payments. It is hoped that this socialization will enhance the community’s understanding of the ease, security, and benefits of QRIS, encouraging the adoption of online zakat payments in Desa Tapen

Abstract

This research aims to explore how Arabic learners at Universitas Islam Tribakti Lirboyo Kediri utilize language learning strategies (LLSs) and whether gender influences their strategic preferences. The participants consisted of 100 students—40 male and 60 female—who completed the Language Learning Strategy Questionnaire (LLSQ) developed by Rita et al. (2019). The instrument asked students to reflect on how frequently they use specific strategies—cognitive, metacognitive, and social—when learning the four core Arabic language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The findings revealed that cognitive strategies were the most frequently used across most skill areas. Metacognitive strategies appeared more prominently in writing tasks, while social strategies—such as seeking help from peers—were generally used less often. Interestingly, statistical analysis indicated no significant gender differences in strategy use, suggesting that both male and female students approach language learning in relatively similar ways. These patterns point to a strong reliance on task-based strategies, with comparatively less emphasis on reflective or collaborative approaches. In light of these results, educators may consider supporting learners in diversifying their strategy use—particularly by promoting peer interaction and strategic planning behaviors—to foster deeper and more effective language learning.
