Abstract

The choice of a diesel-fueled engine is often a problem among the public because there are often complaints that the old diesel-fueled motors are too wasteful with low house power, and it is often doubtful when buying a new engine with high house power, increasing fuel consumption. large, therefore we carry out testing to eliminate doubts in the community in order to get specifications that are in accordance with good power or power but efficient fuel consumption, therefore to get real and real evidence in the selection it is necessary to test 2 engine units with different house power, different types, and different production times, therefore a test of fuel consumption against time, load against time is carried out, using a 7.5 HP diesel engine with 8 HP provided that this 7.5 HP engine is an old engine and the 8 HP engine is a new engine, after By experimenting with fuel comparisons, it was found that the new engine with a larger house power capacity was in fact more efficient in fuel consumption than the old engine with a capacity of 7.5 HP with an average ratio of about 18.49%.

Abstract

The Batang Agam Hydroelectric Power Plant is the oldest Hydroelectric Power Plant in West Sumatera, which is located in the district of Lima Puluh Kota. The Hydroelectric Power Plant started operating in 1976 with a Nett power is 10.5 MW. In its operation so far the turbine of the Batang Agam Hydroelectric Power Plant decrease in the performance compared to the initial commissioning. The impact of decreasing turbine efficiency of Batang Agam Hydroelectric Power Plant lead use of water to convert its energy electricity be wasteful. Therefore it is necessary to research so that the turbine can effectively use the river water that has been dammed in the Kolam Tando more efficient. From the results of analysis obtained the conclusion that the efficiency of the turbine Batang Agam Hydroelectric Power Plant at 3.5 MW from the highest to the lowest; Unit 1 with 86.7% efficiency, Unit 3 with 83.9% efficiency and Unit 2 with 79.2% efficiency. Compared with commissioning data unit-units in the turbine of Batang Agam Hydroelectric Power Plant has decreased efficiency of the amount; Unit 1 of 0.32%, Unit 2 of 7.80% and Unit 3 is 3.05%.

Abstract

Air tanah merupakan sumber air yang digunakan oleh Panti Asuhan Aisyiyah Cabang Koto Tangah Kota Padang untuk keperluan sehari-hari seperti: wudhu, cuci, mandi dan kakus. Sayangnya, masalah air sumur di panti asuhan ini adalah air kualitas rendah dengan ciri-ciri fisik tampak keruh dan berbau, serta menimbulkan bercak kuning kemerahan pada dinding dan lantai kamar mandi yang diprediksi akibat kadar besi (Fe) dan mangan (Mn) yang berlebih pada air tersebut. Dari permasalahan diatas, maka diperlukan solusi untuk membantu pengelolaan air di Panti Asuhan tersebut, berupa usaha pemberdayaan mitra melalui peningkatan pengetahuan tentang jenis-jenis penjernihan air dan foto-foto pemasangan filter air akan mengolah air di panti asuhan ini. Kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah sosialisasi tentang metode penjernihan secara alami dan buatan, video pembuatan alat pengolahan air kurang layak menjadi air bersih, dan melakukan penyebaran kuisioner awal dan akhir sosialisasi, dimana terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan mitra tentang pengolahan air bersih dari 22% menjadi 64,62%

Abstract

The presence of street food in Kubang village varies greatly in the form of light and heavy snacks. Since the mothers in Jorong Tanjung Barulak have activities to help their husbands in farming, they prioritize buying snacks for family daily food needs that focuses on being full and delicious, without paying attention to nutrition and its effects. Various diseases can appear such as diarrhea and poisoning. The mother lacking time and the awareness to make their own family meals is a problem. Giving information about the safety street food is necessary in order they can intelligently choose snacks, know the good foods and not good for their children, educate the types healthy and practical food to make by themselves that lacks synthetic dyes, preservatives, and flavor enhancers. The increase of the healthy food knowledge is known from the results of the questionnaires distributed before and after from 36% to 86.67%.

Abstract

The comfort factor of a room is determined according to the location, characteristics and activities in the room. In order for the room to feel comfortable, a tool is needed to cool the room. The hall of Campus III UM West Sumatra as a place for academic activities measuring 28.3 m long, 8.3 m wide, 3.2 m high with a capacity of 130 people, requires air conditioning according to the needs of the room. This study aims to determine the need for air conditioning cooling load for the hall space. The research carried out literature review and observation, calculating temperature, temperature, hall size, and others. The result of the research is that the cooling load is 25.44 kW, so 3 units of split PK type AC are needed

Abstract

the engine performance is very important at the automotive world, especially on 4-stroke motorcycles, where most people want the engine performance to be better and more economically. In this case to improve engine performance is done by changing the piston on the motor. With a different piston shape can increase the compression ratio. The purpose of this study is to determine changes in compression ratio, torque, power and fuel consumption, after replacing the piston. The test was carried out on a 2006 Honda Tiger, with a standard piston specification with a diameter of 64.5 mm (flat surface) and replaced with a 64.5 mm pro newtech piston (convex surface) by using Pertamax 92 fuel. The results obtained from the comparison of the compression value of 1, 6 : 1, 12.65 ft-lbs of torque, and 2.87 ft-lbs of power so that fuel consumption increases by 5.685%

Abstract

Tomat merupakan salah satu tanaman hortikultura yang dapat di olah menjadi saus tomat untuk meningkatkan nilai ekonomis buah tomat. Kelompok tani Usaha bersama kelompok mandiri di Nagari batu palano kabupaten agam mengolah tomat menjadi saus tomat. Dalam pengolahan saus tomat membutuhkan waktu 6 jam sampai 8 jam, hal tersebut disebabkan karena material pengukus berukuran tebal yaitu 1 mm dan jarak antar dandang luar dan dandang dalam berukuran 5 cm. untuk mengatasi hal tersebut dilakukan modifikasi dengan mengganti material berukuran 0,6 mm dan jarak antar dandang menjadi 2,5 cm, kemudian dilakukan pengujian dengan faribel api besar, api sedang dan api kecil. Maka didapat perbandingan waktu laju perpindahan panas antara dandang UBK Mandiri dengan dandang modifikasi. Dengan api besar dandang UBK Mandiri membutuhkan waktu untuk mendidihkan air hingga titik didih 95 oC selama 2 jam 15 menit, dandang modifikasi 1 jam 30 menit. Dengan menggunakan api sedang dandang UBK Mandiri membutuhkan waktu 4 jam, dandang modifikasi 2 jam 30 menit. Dengan api sedang dandang UBK Mandiri membutuhkan waku 6 jam, dandang modifikasi membutuhkan waktu 4 jam 45 menit. Jadi dalam proses memdidihkan iar hingga titik didih dandang modifikasi lebih cepat dari dandang UBK Mandiri.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the largest rice producers in the world. technological developments created a rice threshing machine to facilitate the work of farmers. In the manufacture of the engine frame, of course, must be calculated accurately. Here the SolidWorks 2019 application is used to make it easier to analyze the strength of the rice threshing machine frame. In the simulation of the strength of the frame using SolidWorks 2019, the type of material used is ASTM A36 Steel, and loading is carried out on the frame with a load of 1 of 50 kg and a load of 2 of 30 kg. The simulation results get the largest von misses stress value at load 2 of 79,183,792,000 N /m2 with a displacement of 0.657 mm. The safety factor values obtained from the simulation results are 3 and 2,635. Based on Dobrovolsky in the book "machine element" the safety factor range for dynamic loads is 2.0 - 3.0, then the strength of the frame of the rice thresher machine is able to support the performance of the machine during use.

Abstract

The spark plug electrode gap is a narrow distance between the center of electrode and the mass of electrode.  This gap has a very big influence on the performance of the gasoline motor. If the spark plug electrode gap is not adjusted correctly or too tight, it will result the spark produced be weaken and the power generated will decrease, meanwhile if the spark plug electrode gap is too wide, it will cause to combustion failure while operate with high rpm. In this research, the effect of the spark plug electrode gap (0.6 mm,0.7 mm and 0.8 mm) on the GL 200 D motorcycle performance is conducted with different input torque and power. Abstract

This research to design a smaller and easy to operate meatball maker machine. This design will simplify, speed up and minimize the energy expended in the meatball maker machine. Simulation of frame strength using Solidwork 2018. The simulation value of von Mises stress on the frame is with a maximum stress of 10,550,430.00 N/m2 and a minimum of 90,629 N/m2 with a yield strength of 250,000,000.00 N/m2. Displacement in the simulation of displacement is with a maximum value of 0.154 mm and a minimum of 0.000 mm. The value of the safety factor from the simulation results is 24. Static simulation results of the strength of the meatball printing machine frame using ASTM A36 Steel L 30 mm x 30 mm 3 mm thick with a load of 25 kg, the frame is able to withstand engine performance during operation.
