This study was conducted to determine the effect of using palm kernel meal fermented with Lentinus edodes in feed rations on the performance of laying quails. The method used was an experimental design with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% fermented palm kernel meal (FPKM). The parameters measured were feed consumption, daily egg production, egg weight, egg mass and feed conversion. The results showed that the use of FPKM had no significant effect (P>0.05) on feed consumption, egg production, egg weight, egg mass, and feed conversion. The conclusion of this study is that the use of palm kernel meal fermented with Lentinus edodes as an alternative feed up to a level of 20% in the ration can reduce the use of corn by 20.83%, soybean meal by 53.85%, and rice bran by 50.00%, while maintaining performance equivalent to the control. Thus, it can be used as an alternative feed to address fluctuations and reduce feed costs. The best results in this study were obtained from treatment E, with a feed consumption of 20.17 g/bird/day, egg production of 85.29%, egg weight of 10.86 g/egg, egg mass of 8.64 g/bird/day, and a feed conversion ratio of 2.32.Keywords: Palm kernel meal, fermentation, Lentinus edodes, quail performance.
