Abstract

As technology develops, air quality tends to decline. One of the air pollutants that is often encountered is bacteria that infect through the air such as Staphylococcus aureus. As a basic protection tool, a cloth mask with a membrane layer can be an alternative solution. One of the materials that can be used is chitosan and lime peel pectin. Lime peel produces essential oils that are used as stimulant, aromatherapy, and antimicrobial enhancers. This study aims to determine the results of characteristic tests, content analysis through phytochemicals and Staphylococcus aureus. The research method used is descriptive exploratory and experimental. The membrane mask made from chitosan of shrimp skin and lime peel has a characteristic thickness of 00.24 mm with a density of 0.60 - 0.90 g/cm3 with a textured heterogeneous surface. Has a water vapor transmission power of 0.00088 g/day/m2. It takes 27.54 days to completely decompose. Grapefruit peel essential oil contains secondary metabolites in the form of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, phenolics and triterpenoids. The membrane mask had Staphylococcus aureus antibacterial activity ranging from 14.05 mm. Keywords: Lime peel (Citrus aurantiifolia), Shrimp Skin Chitosan, Membrane mask, Antibacterial.

Abstract

Pest control officers have a fairly high level of risk in their work so they require the use of complete PPE, especially when exposed to pesticides for a long time and frequency. Pesticides can enter through the skin, into the mouth or through inhalation. Therefore, this study aims to determine the factors related to the characteristics of pest control officers including age, education level, knowledge of K3, nutritional status, frequency of spraying, number of types of pesticides and their relationship with the level of poisoning in the blood of pest control officers. This study used a cross sectional method with a sample of 25 people. Sampling was carried out using the total sampling method to obtain an overview of the factors associated with the level of poisoning by pest control officers in Denpasar. Based on the research conducted, the results obtained that there is a description of the factors associated with the level of pesticide poisoning. The results of the examination of cholinesterase activity in the blood can be used as confirmation (confirmation) of the occurrence of pesticide poisoning in a person. The process of pesticide poisoning is caused by the interaction between chemical agents or chemical agents, humans as hosts and supporting environmental factors. Chemical agents resulting from human activities can have various effects on health. The level of K3 knowledge and the use of personal protective equipment is very important for pest control officers because it has an impact on long-term health and exposure to pesticides that can cause poisoning.   Keywords         : Overview, Factors, Poisoning, Pesticides, Officer

Abstract

Abstract

Wood processing generally involves the use of large machines for cutting and grinding. This process is customized according to consumer needs. During wood processing, workers are exposed to noise generated by machines, with an average level exceeding 85 dBA. These workers typically work eight hours a day with a one-hour break. The impact of this noise extends beyond hearing loss, as it also disrupts the workers' sleep quality. This study aims to examine the relationship between noise levels and sleep quality among wood processing workers, specifically at UD. Adhi Santa in Tabanan, Bali, which serves as the research site. The study design employed was a cross-sectional study with a sample population of 40 wood processing workers who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Noise levels were measured using a sound level meter in the work machine area, while sleep quality was assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleeping Quality Index (PSQI). The data were analyzed using computer software, utilizing Spearmans to determine the significant relationship between noise levels and sleep quality among workers in the wood processing factory. The results indicated that, out of the 40 workers, the analysis revealed a significant relationship between noise levels and sleep quality (p = 0.002, p < 0.05). In conclusion, it can be stated that there is indeed a significant relationship between noise levels and sleep quality among wood processing workers.

Abstract

From a preliminary study conducted on 10 private junior high school students in Denpasar, data were obtained that 40% of students experienced complaints of dizziness, 50% glare and 10% sore eyes. In addition, students' musculoskeletal complaints were caused by the size of the chairs and study desks not in accordance with the student's anthropometry and as a result of a monotonous environmental condition, causing less stimulus or stimulation to affect student concentration during learning. With the above background, a research was conducted with The same-subject design involved 26 students with an age range of 13-15 years. The study was conducted for 3 days in a row, namely on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday by measuring the anthropometry of the student's body using a super brand anthropometer 686, musculoskeletal complaints with the Nordic Body Map before and after repairs were made. Data were analyzed using paired t-test at the significance level of p=0.005. The results showed that the mean of musculoskeletal complaints before successive improvement was 27.44 ± 0.27; 26.94 ± 0.61 and 27.00 ± 0.55. An unnatural learning attitude caused by the chair being not high enough, an additional 2 cm of chair was made to compensate for the height of the table which had been adjusted to the popliteal height and elbow height in the sitting position. By making improvements to the chair can reduce musculoskeletal complaints by 42, 14%. From the research, it can be concluded that repairing tables and chairs can reduce students' musculoskeletal complaints and it is suggested that the layout of these improvements will be used in the future for students with an age range of 13-15 years.
