Abstract

This study aims to determine the cause and magnitude of the effect of workload on the performance of the Class II A Narcotics Prison officers in Muara Beliti. This study uses quantitative research methods and uses an experimental design to determine the cause and magnitude of the influence of the independent variable (work-load) on the dependent variable (performance). Simple linear regression analysis was used in this study as a data analysis tool to determine the magnitude of the effect of workload on the performance of Class II A Narcotics Prison officers in Muara Beliti. There are 2 sources of data used in this study, namely primary data sources by distributing questionnaires via Google form and secondary data sources, namely books, the internet, and journals related to research. Probability sampling is used in this study as a sampling technique with a simple random sampling type because all members of the population have the right to be the research sample, then the sampling method using the Slovin formula is used to narrow the population. This research shows that there is a positive influence and significance of the independent variable (workload) on the dependent variable (performance) with the magnitude of the influence of 63.4%.

Abstract

A correctional institution is a correctional technical implementation unit that has the duty and function to provide guidance to prisoners. That way, the correctional officers are required to have work engagement or work involvement in carrying out their duties, and one of the factors that can increase work engagement is job crafting. This study aims to determine the effect of job crafting on the work engagement of Class III Rangkasbitung Correctional Officers. This research method uses quantitative methods with a population sample of 63 officers, where the entire population is sampled. There are a total of 38 statement items that will be researched and distributed to all officers. Based on the results of the study, the regression results between the two variables were Y = 39.584 + 0.281X, and the results of hypothesis testing analysis through the determination test showed that the job crafting variable had an influence of 10.8% on the work engagement of Class III Rangkasbitung Prison Officers. Then, from the results of the t value of (5,045) > from the t table (2,000), which means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, the conclusion of this study is that there is a positive relationship between job crafting and work engagement among class III prison officers in Rangkasbitung.

Abstract

This article discusses the world of corrections as a place of punishment for prisoners, which still causes dynamics of internal problems that have not been resolved. The clash with the limitations imposed by the state on the basic needs of prisoners gives rise to various social problems as a result of the social interaction process that can disrupt the process of the correctional system. The problem of deviant sexual behavior by prisoners as a result of the loss of the right to sexual relations is something that has so far become an unresolved discourse. The purpose of this research is to identify the adaptation patterns of homosexual prisoners in prison, which mapping can later become material for strategies to control the problem. This article uses a descriptive qualitative research method to examine dynamic field phenomena. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews and document studies. The results of the discussion show that homosexuals have a pattern of conformity and innovation adaptation that can be observed and studied as material for controlling sexual deviation problems in prisons using situational crime prevention. Abstract

This study analyzes the socio-demographic factors that influence the increase in recidivism at Pematang Siantar Class IIA Correctional Facility. Data shows an increase in the number of recidivist prisoners each year, with factors such as age, gender, education, and social environment playing an important role in the tendency of former prisoners to re-offend. This study uses qualitative methods through interviews and observations to identify the relationship between these socio-demographic factors. The results show that prisoners who are younger, male, lower education, and less supportive social environment are more vulnerable to becoming recidivists. This study recommends a rehabilitation program that focuses more on skill building, psychosocial support, and family and community involvement in supporting the reintegration of ex-prisoners. Abstract

The implementation of the social rehabilitation program using the Therapeutic Community (TC) method at the Narcotics Prison of Purwokerto has shown significant progress. The program consists of planning, execution, and evaluation stages. Initially, residents undergo a screening process, followed by orientation and the primary phase, where they engage in structured activities aimed at behavioral change. The re-entry phase, although hindered by the mixing of residents with other inmates, provides opportunities for adaptation through vocational training and family counseling. While the aftercare stage is not conducted within the prison, strategies are developed to prepare former residents for independent living. Challenges such as limited human resources and inadequate facilities are identified and evaluated for improvement. Recommendations include enhancing collaboration with relevant agencies and providing specialized training for staff to optimize the rehabilitation program's effectiveness. Abstract

Security guards play an important role in maintaining stability and security in correctional institutions and detention centers. Therefore, the balance between work and personal life (work-life balance) is a key factor that can affect their performance and well-being. This research focuses on comparing the level of work-life balance of security squad officers at the Class IIA Serang Correctional Institution and the Class IIB Serang State Detention Center. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is a significant difference in the level of work-life balance between officers in the two institutions. This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional survey approach, involving 72 respondents consisting of 36 officers in each institution. The data collection technique was conducted through a questionnaire with indicators measured based on the three main dimensions of work-life balance: time balance, involvement balance, and satisfaction balance. Data were analyzed using a normality test and t-test to see the difference between the two groups of respondents. The results showed a significant difference in the level of work-life balance between officers at Class IIA Serang Correctional Facility and Class IIB Serang Detention Center, with officers at the correctional facility showing higher scores. This improvement is due to factors such as the work environment, supporting facilities, and better management policies in correctional facilities. The conclusion of this study shows that work-life balance has a major influence on officers' well-being and performance, and there are significant differences between the two institutions. Abstract

This research examines religious development in the Tangerang Class I Children's Special Development Institution, which is important given the increase in law violations by children in Indonesia. Although the existing justice system regulates children's rights, challenges in the development of children in conflict with the law, especially in the religious aspect, still need to be addressed. The purpose of this study is to explore the implementation of religious guidance and its impact on the character development of fostered children. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach, where data is collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving foster children and correctional officers. The results showed that religious development Tangerang Class I Children's Special Development Institution focused on two religions, Islam and Christianity, and was implemented in a structured manner. The program has succeeded in improving the religious knowledge and positive character of the juveniles, which can be seen from improvements in worship and self-awareness. However, this study also identified various challenges in implementation that need to be addressed to achieve optimal results. Keywords : Religious Guidance; Child Prisoners; Behavioral Development

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of health services in Class IIA Karawang Prison, specifically for vulnerable and high-risk inmates. Health services within the prison include promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative aspects; however, their implementation has not been optimal due to limitations in facilities and medical personnel. The overcapacity situation at Karawang Prison further increases the risk of infectious and chronic diseases among inmates, necessitating greater attention to fulfilling their health rights. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, involving vulnerable inmates, inmates with high-risk health conditions, and medical staff. The results indicate the need for improved health facilities, an increase in medical personnel, and enhanced quality of health services to ensure that inmates' health rights are met optimally according to applicable regulations.
