Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic, driven by the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, has brought about substantial global lifestyle changes. Governments worldwide have responded with various strategies, including the implementation of social distancing, which necessitates maintaining physical distance and limiting social interactions to curb virus transmission. This study seeks to assess the pandemic's effects on adolescent mental health and identify potential strategies for fostering positive mental well-being during these trying times. Utilizing systematic review and literature methods, data were collected from research journals conducted by experts and sourced from two databases, Google Scholar and PubMed. The findings indicate a notable impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on adolescent mental health, with disruptions in daily routines, especially due to distance learning resulting from social distancing measures, contributing to increased mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and trauma among adolescents. In conclusion, this analysis, based on a review of 12 pertinent articles, underscores the significant influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on adolescent mental health. Effective efforts aimed at promoting positive mental well-being during this crisis require further attention to mitigate the resultant negative consequences. Further research and tailored preventive measures are crucial for assisting adolescents in navigating the mental health challenges posed by this ongoing pandemic.

Abstract

The process of bone repair after trauma or fracture will involve cells, signalling molecules, and processes that have been active during the remodelling process. The new study found that Aloin can promote the expression of osteogenic differentiation regulators, such as Bmp-1 (Bone morphogenetic protein 1) and Runx1 (Runt-related transcription factor 1) in MC3T3–E1 cells, where Runx1 is a transcription factor in osteogenic differentiation—knowing and analyzing aloin extract on the histopathological picture of osteogenesis in Wistar strain rattus norvegicus fractures. This type of research is a laboratory experimental test with a post-test-only control group design. The population number will be divided into four groups, namely positive control group (+), negative control (-), treatment group 1, and treatment group 1, with 14 samples using the Purposive Sampling technique. Univariate data analysis is presented as mean and standard deviation and one-way ANOVA statistical test. Data processing using computerized IBM version 15.0 of the SPSS program. Histopathological picture of osteogenesis in fractures of male rats (Rattus norvegicus) based on osteoblast values at least at K(-), which is 30.64, and K(+), which is 31.90. In the P1 group, the highest average osteoblast value was 39.58, and P1's was 38.14. The osteoclast value is obtained at least at K(-) and 8, and K(+) is 19.01. In the P1 group, the highest average osteoclast value was 16.73, and P1 was 11.70. Aloin extract did not affect the histopathological picture of osteogenesis in fractures of male rats (Rattus norvegicus) with a sig of >0.05.

Abstract

Background : Hypertension is a blood pressure disease, where there is an increase in systolic (≥140 mmHg) and/or diastolic (≥ 90 mmHg) blood pressure quickly or slowly. Objective : This study aims to determine the relationship between potassium intake and the incidence of hypertension in inangkabau ethnic women. Methods : This research is a type of analytical research with a case control research design. The population in this study were all Minangkabau ethnic women who suffered from hypertension who went to the Air Padang Children's Health Center, with 114 samples that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Bivariate and univariate data analysis is presented in the form of frequency distribution and percentage, and the data is processed using the SPSS program. Result : This study showed that as many as 112 people (98.2%) of Minangkabau ethnic women with less potassium intake, and 2 people (1.8%) with adequate potassium intake. The average potassium intake in the hypertensive women group was 855.0146 mg, while the nonhypertensive women group was 1699.5777 mg. Hypertensive women have an average systolic blood pressure of 151.44, while a diastolic blood pressure of 92.09. Women without hypertension had an average systolic blood pressure of 111.49, while a diastolic blood pressure of 76.93. Less potassium intake was found in the hypertensive women group, namely 57 people (100%) compared to the nonhypertensive women group, namely 55 people (96.5%). Conclusion : There is no significant relationship between potassium intake and blood pressure in Minangkabau ethnic women.  Keywords: Hypertension, Potassium, Minangkabau
