Abstract

Abstract

The Citarum River is the largest and longest river in West Java Province. The basin in that location has influenced by human activities and the industrial sector. One of the hazardous pollutants contained in industrial wastewater is heavy metals. This study aims to identify the content of dissolved heavy metals (Fe, Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Pb, and Zn) in Citarum River water, Purwakarta Regency, at three observation points, namely Jatiluhur Reservoir Outlet, Cilalawak Bridge, and Cilele Bridge. The Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry Method is used to analyze the dissolved heavy metals. Determination the level of metal contamination using the Heavy Metal Pollution Index (HPI) method. The study results that three metals exceeded the standard based on Government Regulation 22 of 2021 Class II, namely Fe, Hg, and Zn. Fe metal in the range between 0.277-1.179 mg/L, Hg metal between 0.011-0.100 mg/L, and Zn metal between 0.017-0.074 mg/L. HPI analysis showed that at three points in both sampling periods, it indicated that heavy metals highly polluted river water because the results obtained exceeded the HPI pollutant index, which was > 100. The biggest contribution of dissolved heavy metals in the Citarum River water body was dominated by the Hg parameter

Abstract

Cirebon Regency is experiencing flood and drought problems where this area is experiencing a change in land use from green areas to housing due to population growth. This change causes a decrease in the land's ability to absorb water and an increase in water runoff. This research aims to analyze the application of environmentally friendly drainage with retention ponds to overcome this problem. The case study was conducted in a new housing complex with an area of 49.2 ha. The design method of the retention pond is related to the Directorate General of Human Settlements. The results of the research at the site required three retention ponds with a volume of 3,543.60 m3, 4,443.30 m3 and 2,303.40 m3. The efficiencies of reducing runoff water for each pond are 32%, 37%, and 21%. The total reduction efficiency of the three ponds is 90%. The remaining 10% of the runoff water goes into the drainage canal. If you want to implement zero waste, the remaining runoff water can be captured by building absorption wells at several points. The application of this environmentally friendly drainage concept has the effect of reducing runoff water and increasing infiltration water.

Abstract

Since the emergence of the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in Wuhan City, China, in 2019, many countries in the world have been infected with the virus with very serious cases. This has caused a slump, especially for Indonesia, with a lower-middle-class society of 115 million people or 45% of the total population. The virus's rapid spread through droplets resulted in the Indonesian government implementing a lockdown called Large-scale Social Restrictions within months. This system is an effort to break the chain of virus spread. A pure birth process can be called a stochastic process with a continuous parameter space and a discrete state space. This research will focus on the application of the Pure Birth Process, which is expected to provide scientific studies on Covid-19 in Indonesia, become a new reference for the development of mathematics, and provide information on research results so that they can be used in policymaking to overcome and overcome the spread of Covid-19. 19. At the end of this study, it was known that the spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia was very drastic, which had a rate of increase in cases as big as a person/hour or person/day, which is a very significant increase. Based on calculations using Pure Birth, it is hoped that it can be used in policymaking for the government and the community to overcome and overcome the spread of Covid-19.

Abstract

Abstract

This study analyzes the increase in runoff caused by residential development in Sumber, Cirebon Regency, West Java. Housing development causes land conversion into impervious areas, which reduces rainwater infiltration and potentially increases the risk of downstream flooding. This study uses the calculation of runoff discharge before and after development, the rational method to measure runoff discharge. The predicted pre-development runoff was 0.205 m³/sec, which increased to 0.685 m³/sec after the development was completed; the potential increase in runoff was 0.481 m³/sec. The results show the significant impact of the development on the increase in runoff and potential flood risk. As a solution, environmentally sound drainage practices such as detention ponds and infiltration wells were developed to reduce the impact.
