This research was carried out in the Experimental Field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Cokroaminoto Palopo, Jalan Lamaranginang, Batupasi Village, Wara Utara District, Palopo City. The experimental method used was a randomized block design (RBD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications to comprise 20 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of 2 plant units so that there were 40 plant samples. The parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, root length, pod weight and the number of seeds. The results showed that the application of liquid fertilizer prepared from fruit and vegetable waste had a significant effect on the growth and yield of peanut plants. The effective concentration of fruit and vegetable waste liquid fertilizer was P4 (250 mL.L-1 water) that produced the best plant height with an average value of 20.93 cm, the average age of flowering was 33 days, the average root length was 4.49 cm, and the best average pods (22.77 grams), while a concentration of 200 mL.L-1 water (P3) produced the best average number of seeds (340.25 seeds).

Abstract

This study was aimed to increase the production of Thai eggplant (Solanum melongena L) grown at altitude of 2 masl using myccohirzal biofertilizer. The study was conducted in Experimental Farm of Agricultural Faculty of Campus II University of Cokroaminoto Palopo, Batu Pasi Sub-district, Wara Utara District, Palopo City. This research applied the method of Randomized Block Design with four replicants and five treatments; P0 = Without treatment (control), P1 = Mycorrhizal fertilizer of 5 gr/plant, P2 = Mycorrhizal fertilizer of 10 gr/plant, P3 = Mycorrhizal fertilizer of 15 gr/plant, and P4 = Mycorrhizal fertilizer of 20 gr/plant. Research of this study showed that one treatment significantly affected the root length of eggplant, namely P2 with root length of 39.42 cm. In general, application of mycorrhizal fertilizer did not significantly affect the growth and production of eggplant, but several doses resulted in better outcome. Treatment of P3 obtained the best plant height of 9.22 cm, while the best average flowering age was found in P2 and P4 of 31.8 days after planting. Moreover, P3 and P4 produced the most number of flower, namely 3.83 flowers, while the most number of fruits was obtained by P4 of 3.53 fruits. At last, P3 produced the heaviest fresh weight of fruit of 221.13 gram

This study was conducted in the trial land of Campus 2, Faculty of Agriculture, Cokroaminoto University, Palopo from September to December 2019. The method used in this study was the randomized block design with 5 treatments and 4 replications, therefore there were 20 experimental units. Each experimental unit comprised 2 plant units, therefore there were 40 plant samples on the given concentration of P0: Control, P1: 50 mL/L fruit waste local microorganism concentration, P2: 100 mL/L fruit waste local microorganism concentration, P3: 150 mL/L fruit waste local microorganism concentration, and P4: 200 mL/L fruit waste local microorganism concentration. The results showed that the local microorganism application on the soybean plants had no significant effects on the plant height, total of leaves, flowering period, and a total of pods. The local fruit waste microorganism with 100 mL concentration was capable of improving the plant height, total of leaves, flowering period, and a total of pods with the respective average of 31.9 cm, 51.6 leaves, 21,8 days, and 35 soybean pods

Abstract

This study aimed to observe (1) The formation of parthenocarpy fruit in cucumber with the application of Giberelin hormone and (2) the concentration of Giberelin to form the parthenocarpy fruit on cucumber. This study was held at campus 2 trial land, Faculty of Agriculture Cokroaminoto University, Palopo. The method used in this study was group randomized design method with five treatments and three replications, i.e P0 (without Giberelin application), P1 (200 mg/L Giberelin), P2 (250 mg/L Giberelin), P3 (300 mg/L Giberelin) and P4 (350 mg/L Giberelin). The result showed that the application of Giberelin with 350 mg/L concentration (P4) significantly affected the formation of parthenocarpy fruit on the number of seed produced with 379.96 seeds. The highest number of seeds produced was observed in control treatment (P0) with 496.27 seeds. Furthermore, the fruit fresh weight, diameter, and length had no significant difference

Abstract

Bananas are a horticultural commodity that originates from Southeast Asia and the West Pacific, including Indonesia. Banana cultivation is carried out with the aim of increasing the economic value of the community by cultivating the Cavendish banana species. Cavendish banana (Musa acuminata L.) is one type of banana that is widely exported, and has high economic value. The constraints in the cultivation of this Cavendis banana plant are the small, high-quality tillers produced in large quantities and in a short time. Propagation of seeds with tissue culture technology is one solution in dealing with the problem of providing these seeds. This study aims to determine the effect of ZPT IAA and BAP concentrations on the growth of cavendish banana shoots in vitro. This research was conducted at the Tissue Culture Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Cokroaminoto University, Palopo, on Jalan Lamaranginang, Batu Pasi Village, Wara Utara District, Palopo City. Starting from January to May 2020. This research was arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD), which consisted of 5 treatments and 3 replications with a total of 15 experimental units. By giving treatment concentrations of P0: Control, P1 (IAA 0.5 mg L-1 and BAP 1 mg L-1), P2 (IAA 1 mg L-1 and BAP 2 mg L-1), P3 (IAA 1.5 mg L-1 and BAP 3 mg L-1), P4 (IAA 2 mg L-1 and BAP 4 mg L-1). With research parameters callus color, callus texture, root emergence time, shoot emergence time, number of shoots, and number of leaves. The results showed that at the concentration with treatment P3: IAA 1.5 mg L-1 and BAP 3 mg L-1 produced the highest number of leaves, namely 3 strands. The fastest root emergence time was 25.33 days and the highest number of shoots was 2.33. While for the time of emergence of treatment shoots P0: Control showed the best results, namely 7 DAS (days after planting). This is because a balanced amount of auxins and cytokinins can affect the growth of banana plants in vitro

Abstract

The program of cotton variety improvement is carried out by increasing the productivity and quality of fiber in order to rise the competitiveness of cotton farming through the production of fiber quality that is in accordance with the demand of export-oriented national textile industry. This study aimed to determine the performance of the Kanesia-10 cotton phenotype cultivated using liquid organic fertilizer in the lowlands and obtain the best concentration of liquid organic fertilizer in improving Kanesia 10 cotton performance. This research was conducted in Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Cokroaminoto Palopo from August to November 2018. The genetic material used was Kanesia 10 cotton variety for its fiber content of 27.2%, production of 2.457,2 kg cotton seed per hectare and fiber uniformity of 83,3-84,6%. This study used a randomized block design consisting of five treatments and four times. The treatment used was control (P0), 50 ml/L POC of gamal leaves (P1), and 100 ml/L of gamal leaves (P2) 150 ml/L POC of gamal leaves (P3), and 200 ml/L POC of gamal leaves (P4), so that there were 20 experimental units. The use of liquid organic fertilizer produces heterogeneous phenotypic performance for the parameters of the number of fruits per plot with a diversity coefficient value reaching 32.93%. The treatment of liquid organic fertilizer with a concentration of 50 ml / L resulted in the performance of plant height, number of leaves, number of fruits per plot, and the best fruit weight per plot with a mean of 64.13 cm, 57.75 strands, 43.00 fruits and 7.60 g, respectively
