Abstract

Tantrums are a common behavioral issue in early childhood, characterized by intense and excessive emotional outbursts that occur in specific situations. These episodes often reflect the child's limited ability to articulate needs or emotions verbally. This study aimed to identify and analyze the strategies employed by teachers in managing tantrum behaviors among early childhood learners at PAUD Permata Ibu and TKS IT Misbahul Ikhlas in Aceh Besar. A qualitative descriptive approach was used in this research, employing observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection methods. The subjects of the study were four teachers from Class A in early childhood education institutions, with the object of the research focusing on the strategies these teachers implemented in managing tantrums. The findings revealed that teachers use structured and empathetic methods, allowing children to express emotions under close supervision. Once calm, teachers engage in gentle communication to address the root of the tantrum and guide children toward better behavior by explaining consequences. Emotional bonding, such as hugs or gentle touches, provides comfort, while corrective actions, like marking fingers with tape to deter harmful behavior, remain educational. Teachers also redirect attention to positive activities and provide encouragement to boost confidence and emotional regulation. These strategies highlight the importance of patience, empathy, and tailored approaches to foster emotional growth and self-control in young children.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the use of Indonesian and Acehnese languages in the learning process at PAUD Farisa, Aceh Besar District. This study used a qualitative approach with acase study method. The subjects of the study were three teachers, and data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that Indonesian is predominantly used by teachers in all stages of the learning process. In the opening stage, Indonesian is used to greet students and convey the learning objectives. During the main activities, Indonesian is utilized to explain materials and provide instructions, while Acehnese is selectively used for storytelling, singing traditional songs, and strengthening social bonds. In the closing stage, Indonesian is again used to summarize lessons and deliver messages to children. Barriers to using Acehnese include limited culturally-based learning resources and teachers' lack of proficiency in effectively using the language. Teachers address these challenges by creating simple media, such as illustrated folk tales, and involving children in interactive discussions. These findings support Vygotsky's theory on the role of social interaction in children's language development and Chomsky's theory emphasizing the innate ability of children to acquire language. This study recommends that teachers balance the use of both languages, provide culturally-based learning materials, and involve parents in supporting the preservation of the Acehnese language at home and school.Kata Kunci: Acehnese Language; Early Childhood Education Learning Process; Indonesian Language; Language Use

The study follows a Research and Development approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data were collected through observations, interviews, literature reviews, and questionnaires. The results indicate that the Marble Maze media, which is effective for enhancing problem-solving skills, features labyrinth games with winding paths and sticker challenges. The feasibility of the Marble Maze media, based on validation results from media experts, received a score of 90%, categorizing it as "very valid." Similarly, validation results from material experts also scored 87%, confirming its very valid status. The effectiveness of the Marble Maze media is assessed based on trial results, which indicate that it is very valid. Validation results from both experts confirm that the product is valid.
