Abstract

PT. Ukindo Blankahan Mill, a company engaged in the palm oil industry and plantations, has faced a significant decline in performance and productivity, with production achievements falling short of company targets from 2021 to 2023. This decline in performance is influenced by various factors, including leadership style and employee compensation. This study aims to analyze the impact of leadership style and compensation on employee performance at PT. Ukindo Blankahan Mill. The research seeks to understand the extent to which these two factors contribute to improving employee performance and productivity. This study employs a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. Data were collected through surveys, observations, and documentation from 119 employees of PT. Ukindo Blankahan Mill, with a sample of 54 employees selected using stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire measuring leadership style, compensation, and employee performance. Data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, as well as classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity) and multiple linear regression analysis. The study found that the leadership style variable was mostly valid with three significant indicators. However, the compensation variable did not show adequate validity for all tested items. Reliability tests indicated that the leadership style variable had acceptable internal consistency, while the compensation and employee performance variables showed low reliability. These findings underscore the importance of effective leadership style and compensation in enhancing employee performance, and highlight the need for improvements in the company’s compensation system.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of compensation, physical work environment, and corporate culture on employee job satisfaction at PT Adira Dinamika Multi Finance Medan 3 branch. This study employed a quantitative approach with an associative method. The research population consisted of 65 employees, with a sample of 65 respondents selected using a saturated sampling technique. Primary data were obtained through the distribution of questionnaires, and the results were processed using SPSS software version 24. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression to examine the relationship between independent variables and the dependent variable. The results showed that compensation, physical work environment, and corporate culture, both partially and simultaneously, had a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction. Compensation had a regression value of 0.395, a t-value of 4.877, and a significance value of 0.000. The physical work environment had a regression value of 0.292, a t-value of 3.393, and a significance value of 0.001. Corporate culture had a regression value of 0.236, a t-value of 2.912, and a significance value of 0.005. Simultaneously, the F-value was 233.927 with a significance value of 0.000. Compensation became the most dominant variable influencing job satisfaction with the highest regression value. The coefficient of determination (adjusted R²) of 0.916 indicated that 91.6% of the variation in job satisfaction was explained by the three independent variables. In addition, the strength of the relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable was classified as very strong, with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.959.

Abstract

Employee performance is the backbone of organizational success in public service institutions, including PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Binjai. This study aims to analyze the effect of work-life balance and workload on employee performance, both partially and simultaneously. A causal associative quantitative approach was employed, with data collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire ranging from 1 to 5. A total of 58 respondents were selected from 136 employees using Slovin's formula at a 10% margin of error. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 26. The results indicate that work-life balance has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, evidenced by a t-value of 15.918 with a significance level of 0.000. Meanwhile, workload shows no significant partial effect on performance, with a regression coefficient of +0.074, suggesting that employees have sufficiently adapted to existing work pressures. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence employee performance, with an Adjusted R Square of 0.949, meaning 94.9% of performance variation is explained by the two variables. These findings confirm that maintaining a healthy balance between professional and personal life is the dominant factor driving employee productivity in the electricity service sector.
