Abstract

The objectives of this research are to find out the students ability in expressing gratitude and appreciation by using Think-Pair-Share Strategy and to find out the achievement levels of the students ability in expressing gratitude and appreciation by using think pair share strategy at the sixth grade students of SD Yabes School. The good teacher is able to find the good strategy in the teaching and learning process so that the students will interest to study English. One of strategy used in teaching speaking ability in express gratitude and appreciation is Think-Pair-Share Strategy. The population of this study was all of the sixth grade students of SD Yabes School which consist of 30 students, all the population used as the sample so that the sample consist of 30 students.This study use quantitative research using an experimental design and control design, the examiner intentionally revised appearance of the difference and then it was examined how the result was. This research required two groups of student namely experimental group and control group. experimental group was treated with Think-Pair-Share Strategy during speaking. where as control group was treated without Think-Pair-Share. From the total score pre test of the experimental class (1.600) and the total score pre test of the control class (1.360) can be concluded that the achievement of both group was the same. After getting the treatment (Thik-Pair-Share), the total score post-test of the experimental (2.337) was higher than the total score post-test of the control class (1.686) which did not get the treatment. It can be said that teaching Think-Pair-Share gave positive effect on the students, speaking achievement in expressing gratitude and appreciation Key Words : Gratitude and Appreciation, Think-Pair-Share Strategy

Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class IVA MIS Islamiyah GUPPI students by using a video learning model. This research is classroom action research. The data collection techniques used are conducting reviews, data collection and observation. The data collected is a test of student learning outcomes carried out in the second cycle. From the analysis of the data obtained, it can be concluded that there is a significant increase in learning outcomes after using the video learning model. It can be seen from the average (mean) value of test I, which is 76.67, while the learning results in test II have an average (mean) value of 87.33, which means there is an increase in each test carried out. So we can conclude that learning using instructional video media can improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class IVA MIS Islamiyah GUPPI students on the subject of simple fractions. Abstract

Tujuan dari pada Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara Bahasa Inggris Siswa SMA Muhammadiyah 18 melalui metode langsung ( Direct Method). Metode Langsung adalah suatu metode dimana siswa dapat mengaplikasikan pengetahuan yang ditrima dalam bentuk tindakan nyata yang mana hal yang dilakukan dalam metode langsung adalah menyimak, melatih berbicara dan kemudian meniru ucapan dari pendidik. Kegiatan Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan bersama dengan native speaker sehingga kegiatan ini sangat menarik bagi siswa dalam menerapkan metode langsung karena dapat berbicara langsung dengan native speaker. Hasil yang ditemukan dalam pengadian kepada masyarakat ini adalah : siswa/I sangat antusias dalam melatih target language ( English) hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang diberikan oleh siswa dan juga jawaban-jawaban yang diberikan siswa ketika native speaker memberikan pertanyaan, siswa/I juga antusias dalam meniru kalimat-kalimat yang disampaikan oleh narasumber. Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat dapat meningkatkan kembampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris siswa dan juga dapat meningkatkan kepecayaan diri siswa dalam menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Kegiatan ini juga disambut baik oleh pihak sekolah hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari respon kepala sekolah ketika kegiatan dilaksanakan juga berdasarkan wawancara dan hasil angket kepuasan mitra terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM. Abstract

The aims of this research was to find out the improvement on students’ speaking ability after being taught by using Audio-Lingual method. This research applied quantitative research method with 60 students of SMA Anugerah Harapan Negeri Medan, 30 students as sample in the experimental group and 30 students in the control group. The data were collected trough speaking test. The students were asked to listened the short paragraph then asked the student repeated, imitated and memorized the text then the students were asked to record what the students listened. The data were collected in form of recording. The result showed that mean of the students ability using Audio-Lingual Method and without the treat mean were different. The data obtained from the score were the result of the experimental and control class. From the total score pre test of the experimental class (1.574) and the total score pre test of the control class (1.424) can be concluded that the achievement of both group was the same. After getting the treatment (Audio-Lingual Method), the total score post-test of the experimental (2.305) was higher than the total score post-test of the control class (1.654) which did not get the treatment. It can be said that the speaking ability of the students of Eleven grade SMA Harapan Negeri have increased Key Words : Audio-Lingual, Method, Speaking Ability

Abstract

Duolingo aplication is one media that very useful in learning, especially in learning English. This is because this application can improve the students’ skilss in English. The application can be used repeatedly and continuously until the students understand about the material. The purpose of this research was to improve students learning outcomes in English in class VII of Junior High School Students and to make the students interest in studying Englsih.The sample used in this study was consist 61 students. The method used in this study is quantitative research methhod, this study has two variables : the Variable (X) is duolinggo Aplication and the Variable (Y) is the improvement of English learning outcomes. The instrument in collecting data is a sheet of students test result in the control group and experimental group. From the result of this study indicate that pre-test and post-test in the control group and experimental group it can be concluded that duolingo aplplication can : ( 1) Improve students learning outcomes or students learning achievement in SMP Katolik class VII Delimurni (2) Increase the interest of students of class VII SMP Katolik Delimurni in learning English, as evidenced by the significant increase in the result of the students score betweeen control group and experimental group. The result of the students average score in the pre-test in the control group was 47,26 and the post test 55.00, the averange score in the experimental group in the pre-test was 51,67 and the post test was 79,26. Therefore it can say that the use of duolingo application can enhance learning outcomes and students’ speaking ability in English

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai moral kepada siswa/i SMA Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar. Moral seseorang dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan yang diterima serta sikap orang-orang di lingkungan sekitarnya. Saat ini, pendidikan moral siswa sangat memprihatinkan, terlihat dari maraknya kasus perundungan (bullying), keterlibatan dalam tawuran, serta pengaruh negatif seperti LGBT dan seks bebas. Banyak siswa yang menunjukkan perilaku tidak sopan terhadap orang tua, guru, maupun teman sebaya. Rendahnya moral ini dipengaruhi oleh perkembangan teknologi dan kurangnya penanaman nilai moral di sekolah. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, diperlukan penyuluhan rutin agar tercipta siswa yang beriman dan bertakwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, berbudi pekerti luhur, sehat jasmani dan rohani, berilmu, kreatif, disiplin, mandiri, cerdas, serta menjadi warga negara yang bertanggung jawab. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini meliputi ceramah, diskusi, tanya jawab, praktik, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini mendapat sambutan positif dari guru dan siswa SMA Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kesadaran moral siswa, terlihat dari antusiasme mereka dalam mengikuti sesi, aktif bertanya, serta semangat mempraktikkan materi yang diberikan. Guru dan siswa berharap kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat serupa dapat dilaksanakan kembali di masa mendatang. Kata Kunci: nilai moral, siswa, pengabdian masyarakat, penyuluhan

Abstract

The use of video based learning is the appropriate media that use for the students in  this modern era. Learning by using video open the door and it make the students  more interesting and memorable learning experience for the students.. In improving education, it is necessary to apply the use of learning media to students, so that students are more motivated to participate in learning and get maximum grades, and it become an interesting aspect in increasing of the students motivation and the effectiveness in the learning process. The objective of this research is to find out the studentst motivation and learning result  by Using Video Based Learning in English . The Methodology of This research is quantitative research, namely by conducting classroom action research, where in looking at the results of this research a test is given to the control group and experimental group by giving a pre-test and post-test. The population of this study was Singosari Class X High School, and the sample consisted of 62 people. The results of this research were the experimental class sa pre-test 51.48 and post test 79.25. while in the control group class it was 47.29 and post test 54.87. This figure is proof of the effectiveness of Video Based Learning users in improving the English grammar skills of class X Singosari Delitua High School students.
