Abstract

Abstract : Kepok banana skin waste is organic waste that has not been managed properly. Management of kepok banana skin waste can be used as Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC). To see the macro nutrient content, namely N, P and K on the POC kepok banana skin, an analysis of the content of N, P and K. was applied. The application of POC was applied to lettuce plants (Lactuca sativa). This study aims to determine the optimal concentration of POC kepok banana skin based on the content of N, P and K and to determine the optimal concentration of POC application of kepok banana skin to lettuce plants. This research uses a quantitative approach with two types of research Complete Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The results showed that without the addition of EM4 it had shown the highest mean for testing the content of N, P and K and its application to lettuce plants. It was concluded that the optimal concentration without addition of EM4 from kepok banana skin waste used as POC based on the content of N, P and K was at treatment K1 and there was the addition of EM4 in treatment K5. The optimal concentration of giving POC kepok banana skin without the addition of EM4 to lettuce plants (Lactuca sativa) was in treatment I1 and without the addition of EM4 was at treatment I5.Key words : Kepok Banana Skin Waste, Effective Microorganism 4, Molasses and Lettuce Plants

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to know about the effet of adding carrageenan preservatives to the quality of Mackerel’s Otak-otak of culinary local wisdom as a draft of the student worksheet (LKPD) in Biotechnology learning in High school. This research was conducted in March untill May 2019. This research uses a completely randomized design (RAL) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The observed of parameters included Protein content, Fat contant and Hedonic test which is covering aspects of appearance, aroma and texture. The results showed that the addition of carrageenan had a significant effect on protein content and fat content in the Mackerel’s otak-otak (Scomberomorus commersoni) where the treatment of 2% carrageenan concentration was the best treatment for 9.97% of protein content and treatment of 1% carrageenan concentration was the best treatment for 1.12% of fat content. Where as in the organoleptic hedonic test, most favorited color and taste by the panelists are Mackerel’s otak-otak with addition of 2% carrageenan concentration. The result of this study are uses as a draft of Student Worksheets (LKPD) in the learning of conventional Biotechnology in the High School.Key Words: Carrageenan, Mackerel’s,Organoleptic,Otak-otak, Proksimat, WorksheetStudent (LKPD)

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to produce an authentic assessment instrument of environmental change and conservation materials on biology learning with inquiry learning biology class X SMA. The research was conducted in Biology Education Campus of FKIP University of Riau and SMAN 2 Bangko Pusako in November 2017. The subject of this research is authentic assessment instrument of KD 3.11 material of environmental change and preservation. The way to analyze the authentic assessment instruments that teachers have made is to use assessment indicators. Assessment indicators are made according to the demands of the 2013 curriculum for each competency, both cognitively, affectively, psychomotorically. The result of analysis of authentic assessment instrument made by class X researcher for biology study of material change and environmental preservation in SMAN 2 Bangko Pusako can be seen that for written assessment test with average 3,26 with very valid category, attitude evaluation with average 3,36 with category is very valid, performance assessment with mean 3.56 with category very valid, assessment of project with mean 3.5 with category very valid, product rating with mean 3.5 with category very valid, self assessment with mean 3,42 with category very valid, portofolio assessment with average of 3.47 with very valid category.Key words: Authentic assessment, material change and environmental conservation,X-class biology teacher, SMAN 2 Bangko Pusako

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to produce a Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on Problem Solving on quality material for Environmental Change and Conservation for class X SMA. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Riau, SMAN 1 Koto Kampar Hulu and SMAN 2 Koto Kampar Hulu in October-January 2021. The type of research used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE research model consisting of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. In this study, researchers only reached the development stage. The data collection instruments were in the form of validation sheets and respondent questionnaires. The results of the validation of the Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on Problem Solving on the material for Environmental Change and Preservation of class X SMA are at an average value of 3.67 with a very valid category. The result of the limited trial score I was 3.60 in the very good category. The result of the limited trial score II was 3.61 with a very good category. Thus, problem solving-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) on Environmental Change and Preservation material for class X SMA have been successfully developed with very good quality and can be implemented on a wider scale. Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to determine the quality of scientific literacy competency test on biology knowledge instrument. This research is a development research using ADDIE model with stages which are analyzed, design, and development. During the process, this research is divided into two stages, namely research and development. The research phase includes needs analysis, design, and instrument development. The development stage includes validation to obtain validity by validator, first trial, and second trial. The subjects in this study is the questions of scientific literacy that has been tested in PISA 2006. Instruments used to collect data are validation sheet and scientific literacy competence test questions that have been designed. Validation is done to see the validity of competence test instrument of scientific literacy that is developed, while the test result aims to know the quality of the realibility, difficulty level, distinguishing power, and distractor function. The result of the research shows that the scientific literacy competency test on biology knowledge designed has already qualified with valid category. This instrument then can be used as a training material for senior high school students, especially in Riau Province, to improve their scientific literacy skills.Key Words: Design, instrument, scientific literacy

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to (i) describe the character of environmental care students of class XI SMA N 1 Pekanbaru; (ii) to know the relationship between the character of environmental care and mastery of ecosystems concept; (iii) to know the relationship between the character of environmental care and mastery of environmental change concepts. This research was conducted in Juli-Agustus 2018. The sample in this study amounted to 50 students determined based on random sampling techniques.The instrument consisted of environmentally caring character questionnaires, description test of ecosystem and description test of environmental change. The data obtained were analyzed using the correlation test product moment at the level of 5%, test of determination, and descriptive analysis. The results of the study showed that (i) the character of the environmental care students of class XI of SMA N 1 Pekanbaru showed an average of 82.6% in the good category; (ii) there is a significant relationship between the character of environmental care and the mastery of ecosystem concepts of 0.676 with a strong category and the coefficient of determination (r2) is 0.457; (iii) there is a significant relationship between the character of environmental care and mastery of the concept of environmental change of 0.784 with a strong category, and the value of the coefficient of determination (r2) is 0.614. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the character of environmental care students of class XI SMA N 1 Pekanbaru is included in the good category, there is a strong relationship between the two variables.Key Words: Ecosystem, Environmentally Caring Character, Environmental Change, Mastery Concepts

Abstract

Abstract : Research has been conducted at Pekanbaru SMP N 8 in April to November 2018 which aims to determine the correlation between student learning independence and learning media with the science learning outcomes of class VIII students at Pekanbaru 8 Junior High School using purposive sampling technique. The sample used in this study was students of class VIII-5, amounting to 30 students. The variables observed in this study were student learning independence and learning media and the instruments used were learning independence questionnaires and learning media. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by Spearman rank correlation analysis at the level of 5% using the SPSS application and descriptive analysis was carried out. The results of the analysis of learning independence and learning media have a correlation at a significant level of 5% with student learning outcomes. Learning independence has a correlation of 0.765 with learning outcomes and learning media has a correlation of 0.728 with learning outcomes. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there is a strong correlation between learning independence and learning media with science learning outcomes which is equal to 0.798.Keywords: Correlation, Learning Independence, Learning Media, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the learning difficulties of students in the biology learning process of class X SMA PGRI Pekanbaru. This type of research is a descriptive study. The research was conducted at SMA PGRI Pekanbaru from November to December 2019. The sampling technique used the total sampling technique so that the sample in the study, namely class X IPA SMA PGRI Pekanbaru were 30 students and class X IPS SMA PGRI Pekanbaru were 30 students in total. a total of 60 students. Collecting data using questionnaire distribution techniques and data collection instruments using a questionnaire. The questionnaire trial data was tested for validity and reliability using the SPSS software program. The results showed that the average indicator of internal factors causing learning difficulties in biology class X IPS SMA PGRI Pekanbaru was 71% in the "Difficulty" category. The average indicator of internal factors that cause learning difficulties in biology class X IPA SMA PGRI Pekanbaru is 75% with the category "Enough difficulty". The average indicator of external factors causing learning difficulties in biology class X IPS SMA PGRI Pekanbaru is 70% in the "Difficulty" category. The average indicator of external factors causing learning difficulties in biology class X IPA SMA PGRI Pekanbaru is 74% in the "Difficulty" category. The average learning difficulty of students in the biology learning process for class X SMA PGRI Pekanbaru is 73% in the "Difficulty" category.Key Words: Biology, difficulties, learning

Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted to determine the effect of the concentration of baker's yeast on the quality of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and the design of the Student Worksheet (LKPD) for biotechnology material for class XII SMA in May-October 2021. This research was carried out in 2 stages, namely the experimental stage: the effect of concentration baker's yeast on the quality of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and the LKPD design stage: analysis of the potential development of biotechnology teaching materials for class XII SMA. The study used an experimental method by conducting experiments at the Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) and the Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (Faperika), Pekanbaru. Sampling was carried out using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications. The parameters in this study were yield, water content, free fatty acids and organoleptic. Based on the results of the analysis of variance (Anava) with an accuracy level of 0.05 or 5%, the concentration of baker's yeast showed a significant effect on the quality of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). Giving baker's yeast with a concentration of 20% gave the best quality improvement of Virgin Coconut Oil and based on the analysis of potential research results, it can be used as a student worksheet design for biotechnology material for class XII SMA.Key Words: Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO), fermentation, baker's yeast, LKPD Design

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of feeding fermented vegetable waste of mustard greens and cabbage of use different percentage of feed to growth of catfish (Pangasius sp.) and produce leaflet for class XII biology learning on biotechnology materials. This research was conducted at the Binakrida Street, Simpang Baru Subdistrict, Binawidya District, Pekanbaru City in March-July 2020. The research was conducted in 2 stages, namely: experimental research the effect of feeding fermented vegetable waste of mustard greens and cabbage to growth of catfish and potential analysis stage and leaflet design from experimental research results. The experimental research was designed with a Randomized Block Design consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications. The feed used is artificial feed containing fermented vegetable waste of mustard greens and cabbage with different percentage of feed, the treatment consists of T1 (15%), T2 (30%), T3( 45%), T4 (60%). The test parameters are the specific growth rate, feed efficiency, survival rate, and water quality. Based on the ANOVA test (analysis of variances), it shows that the feeding fermented vegetable waste of mustard greens and cabbage has a significant effect on the growth of catfish (p <0.05) and T2 treatment produces the best growth with a 2.11% specific growth, 63,36% feed efficiency, 100% survival rate, and water quality that can support the growth of catfish. Based on the analysis of the potential results of experimental research, it can be used as a biology learning leaflet design for biotechnology material in high school.Key Words: Mustard and Cabbage Vegetable Waste Flour, Fermentation, Catfish Growth,Learning Leaflet Design
