Abstract

AbstractThis article aims to reveal esthetic values embodied in the traditional plate dance from Jorong Limau Sundai, Pasir Talang Village, South Solok Regency. The dance isspecially performed by women. This qualitative research used descriptive method. Theobject of this study is the structure of performance of the plate dance from Jorong LimauSundai. The researcher is the key instrument in this study. Data was collected byobserving, interviewing, and documentation study. Data was then analysed usingethnographic method.  The research found that this dance has traditional esthetics based on local culturalvalues of the Jorong Limau Sundai community. The esthetic values are reflected in themovement structure, costume, floor design, music design, dance technique, and facialexpression of the dancers who are mostly women aged 45 to 48 years old. The estheticvalues of this dance derive from tradition that based in daily values of Jorong LimauSundai community.  Key words: Plate Dance Of Jorong Limau Sundai, Esthetic Values, Dan DancePerformance  Abstrak Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan nilai  estetika yang terkandung dalamstruktur penyajian tari Piriang tradisional dari Jorong limau Sundai Pasir TalangKabupaten Solok Selatan. Tari ini khasnya ditarikan oleh penari perempuan. Penelitianini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Objek penelitaian adalahstruktur penyajian tari Piriang tradisional Jorong Limau Sundai. Peneliti merupakaninstrumen kunci dalam penelitian ini. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui pengamatanlangsung, wawancara, dan studi pustaka serta pendokumentasian. Data dianalisisdengan metode etnografi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa tari ini memiliki estetika tradisional yangberakar pada nilai-nilai budaya lokal masyarakat Jorong Limau Sundai. Nilai estetikapada tari Piriang Jorong Limau Sundai terdapat pada struktur gerak, kostum, disainlantai, disain musik, dan teknik tari serta ekspresi dari penari perempuan yang rata-rataberusia 45 sampai 48 tahun. Nilai estetika tari Piriang Jorong Limau Sundai tidakterlepas dari nilai budaya yang menjadi dasar bagi masyarakat Jorong Limau Sundaidalam kehidupan sehari-harinya. Abstract

This article is intended to get the concept of Minangkabau dance movement in the context of ethnic philosophical values. Today, ninik-mamak, cadiak pandai, and alim ulama in West Sumatra develop ideas about Minangkabau philosophy in all aspects of life. How this idea is reflected in dance movements? To answer this question, a qualitative method is used by taking six samples of popular Minangkabau traditional dance. The data were collected using Focus Group Discussion, observation, and interviews to confirm previous findings. Through the triangulation technique, it is expected to obtain credible data and be analyzed using the models of Miles and Haberman. The results of this study indicate that the basic movements of Minangkabau dance are silat movements. The martial arts movement is the basis of movement used by many traditional dances in Minangkabau. Every district has its unique cultural values and identities and these values are manifested in dance created by dance activists.

Abstract

Abstract The creation of the dance Works "Kumara" aims to create creative dance works and train, educate the creative power of a choreographer or stylist to prepare the idea of being directed through an innovative motion as a language of communication in dance works.  The plot on the dance works "Kumara" tells of the child as the most injured victim when his parents decide to divorce. The form of presentation in the dance Works "Kumara" is symbolic of representational. The results of the study show that "Kumara" is a dance work inspired by the social phenomenon of life in which family integrity is the most important thing in a family. When the child becomes a victim of his parents ' farewell, the child's behavior in responding to divorce also varies depending on their age when the event occurs.  Children of divorce victims will tend to be more inclined, aggressive because of the erratic feeling. Silent culture will also arise due to parents ' divorce. The silent culture will be characterized by the absence of communication and dialogue between family members. The dance Works "Kumara" is a dramatic dance. The interpretation of the parents ' inner turmoil is manifested through motion, stage, make-up, fashion, lighting, and emphasized by the music. Keywords: Kumara, Dance Kumara, Perform Art

Abstract

Abstract The dance work "Ratu Bagus Kuning" aims to realize a dance work that originate from a story in South Sumatra, especially Palembang. The idea of the dance work "Ratu Bagus Kuning" originated from the desire of the choreographer to make a dance claim originating from Palembang folklore. The form of presentation in the dance work "Ratu Bagus Kuning" is a symbolic representational. This dance work tells the story of Princess Mulya Syarifah Mahani’s journey in spreading Islam in the city of Palembang. In the art work "Ratu Bagus Kuning", there is a moral value to connoisseurs of art that everything we do may not be acceptable to people around us, even though it is a kindness. Abstract

AbstractThis article aimsed to reveal and describe the preservation of Ketalang Petang Dance in Rantau Panjang Village, Tabir District, Merangin District, Jambi Province. The type of this research was qualitative research with descriptive methods. The instrument of this research was the researcher herself assisted with supporting instruments such as stationeries, flash disk and photo camera. The types of data in this research were primary and secondary data. The techniques of data collection were literature studies, observation and documentation. After collecting the data, the data were analyzed according to the needs and systematically arranged related to Ketalang Petang dance preservation efforts. The results showed that the Serengkuh Dayung studio in Tabir District, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province, was still teaching and preserving the Ketalang Petang dance. Preservation efforts were carried out by Serengkuh Dayung Studio through the development and spreading. Preservation efforts by developing and spreading namely 1) adding motion, 2) adding traditional musical instruments, 3) modifying costumes, 4) developing floor patterns, levels, and group composition. Abstract

Abstract This study aims to express and describe the efforts of Tukuk Tunggak dance development  in the society of Parumpuang, Limapuluh Kota Regency. The type of study was qualitative research with using descriptive method. The main instrument of this study was the researcher and it was also assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery, camera and flashdisk. The types of data used were primary and secondary data. Techniques of data collection were done by using literature studies, observations, interviews and documentation. Techniques of data analysis were done by collecting data, describing data and making conclusion.The result shows  that the Tukuk Tunggak dance is an art that developed in Parumpuang, Limapuluh Kota Regency which had not been played for a long time. The development efforts are conducted by the researcher is cooperate with dance tuo, schools and society to carry out the Tukuk Tunggak dance. The activity is conducted in order to increase the dancers who are able to play and the usefulness of the Tukuk Tunggak dance is not only for the establishment of the rumah gadang but also for other events . By using the Tukuk Tunggak dance training which is held in schools, it can add the number of the dancers  in playing the Tukuk Tunggak dance which is showed at school farewell events and in the middle of society activities to e nliven Idul Fitri feast. Dance tuo hopes that the Tukuk Tunggak will develop continuously and the younger generation will recognize and know the traditional art that exist in their area and they can continue to develop the dance to the next generation. Keywords : Efforts, Development, Tukuk Tunggak Dance

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to reveal and describe the values of Indang Tagak dance in Jorong Sampu Nagari Lubuk Gadang Utara Sangir District, South Solok Regency: Analysis of Time Aspects ". This research was a qualitative research that produced descriptive analysis data. The main instrument of this research was the research herself and assisted by supporting instruments such as stationeries and cameras. The techniques of data collection were carried out by means of literature study, observation, interviews and documentation. The steps for analyzing data were collecting data, describing data and making conclusions. The results confirmed that the social values contained in the Indang Tagak Dance which were material, vital and spiritual values of the Indang Tagak Dance were useful for humans. Indang Tagak Dance is a folk art group in Jorong Sampu Nagari Lubuk Gadang Utara which is always performed during traditional ceremonies for the celebration of Muslim days. The creation of Indang Tagak Dance tells the history of spreading Islam, its movements and songs have meaning about the basics of teachings of Islam. Keywords: Indang Tagak dance values, time aspect review

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to describe the Impact of the implementation of extracurricular activity in dancing at SMP Negeri 5 Kerinci . The type of research was qualitative research with using descriptive method. The object of research was the students of class VIII and the researcher. Techniques of data collection were done by using library research, observation, interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, Techniques of data analysis were done by  collecting, identifying and analyzing data. The result shows that the students who get the highest score (Very Good) are included in participating on the FLS2N competition in Kerinci Regency appropriate with the direction of the headmaster of SMP Negeri 5 Kerinci .The headmaster gives his appreciation to all school parties who have contributed and participated in reviving extracurricular activity at SMP Negeri 5 Kerinci especially to students delegation, Amir S. because by holding the extracurricular activity in 2019, SMP Negeri 5 Kerinci sends delegation to participate on district level. It is different from the previous year, SMP Negeri 5 Kerinci do not participate in the FLS2N competition. It indicates that SMP Negeri 5 Kerinci  has progressed. Keywords: Implementation, Extracurricular, Dance.

Abstract

AbstractThis article aimed to reveal and describe the Forms of Tak Oyai Dance Presentation at the Malam Bainai Party in East Painan Village, IV Jurai District, Pesisir Selatan Regency.. The type of this research was qualitative research using descriptive analysis methods. The types of data in this research were primary and secondary data. The main instrument in this study was the researcher himself and assisted with supporting instruments such as stationeries and camera. Technique of data collection were carried out by literature studies, observations, interviews and documentations. In analyzing the data, there were two steps, namely describing the dance elements contained in the Tak Oyai dance, then describing the sequences of the Tak Oyai dance event that were found in the Malam Bainai party. The results showed that the Tak Oyai dance was one of the traditional dances located in East Painan Village, IV Jurai District, Pesisir Selatan Regency. Tak Oyai dance consisted of 6 different types of movements and might be danced by even numbers of male and female dancers. Tak Oyai dance used internal music, namely dendang music sung by an artist named Amlis who was the heir of Tak Oyai, and the dance used adok which was used as a symbol to express his sense of joy in doing activities. The form of the presentation of Tak Oyai dance at Malam Bainai party was begun with the reading of the Holy Qur'an, then picking up the bride followed by an apology to the parents, then continued by the Tak Oyai dance performance. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the development of Silek Lanyah from tradition to creation in Kubu Gadang Village, Ekor Lubuk Village, Padang Panjang Timur District, Padang Panjang. The type of study was a qualitative with descriptive methods. The instrument of study was the researcher and it was assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery, camera and gadget / smartphone. The type of data used primary and secondary data. Techniques of data collection carried out by doing literature study, observation, interview and documentation. Techniques of data analysis were done by doing collection, reduction,  data presentation and making conclusions. The result shows that Silek Lanyah has progressed in terms of the quality of the movements, performers, costumes, music and practice camp or targets. The development of Lanyah Silek originates from Silek Tuo Gunuang as a source of Silek Lanyah movement. Young men and women in Kubu Gadang Village as the perpetrators of Silek Tuo Gunuang preserve their traditional arts that are developed in a new form, which become a martial arts attraction as a icon of touristm.Keywords: silek lanyah, the development, tradition to creation
