This research is conducted in the Salayo Nagari (local state), Kubung District, Solok Regency. There, the traditional wedding Perkawinan Alek Gadang includes the interesting ceremony of Malam Bakuruang, which is celebrated by slaughtering cow and water buffalo. There are several activities in the wedding; pulang dahulu (the groom comes home after the akad nikah (marriage contract), before the wedding ceremony), maanta nasi patang (the bride’s family presents foods for the groom’s family in the afternoon after the groom’s home), manurunkan marapulai (dress the groom), maanta marapulai (escort the groom to the bride’s house), malam bakuruang (the slaughtering ceremony), and arak-arakan (parade). AbstractThis study aimed to describe the motivation of students to take part in learning dance in SMP N 3 Padang. This type of research was qualitative research with descriptive analysis method. The main instrument in this study was the researcher selves and assisted with supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data. Techniques of data collection were carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. The results of data collection are presented, concluded and verified to obtain the correct data conclusions. The results showed that students' motivation in dance learning at SMPN 3 Padang was caused by individual students’ factors and teacher factors, with a poor percentage result, because the teachers in the learning process did not use varied methods and media. In the learning process, the teacher does not use media (laptops, pictures, videos, infocus, tape / speakers) as a tool. The teacher only explains the subject matter. From the results of observations and interviews, students' motivation looks less motivated caused by individual factors and teacher factors.Keywords: motivation, learning the art of dance

AbstractThis study aimed to describe the improvement of Students’ motivation in dance art learning in SMA Negeri 2 Kerinci at class X by using video. The type of this study was qualitative with analysis descriptive method. Instruments used in this study were the researcher and it was also helped by stationaries and digital camera. Data in this study were primary and secondary data. Techniques of data collection were done by using library research, questionaires, interview and taking documentation. Data was analyzed by counting the result of observation with precentage, it gave motivation category and analyzed qualitatively. The result of study showed that students’ motivation of class X-1 SMA Negeri 2 Kerinci was in good category.Keywords: student motivation, learning the art of dance

Abstract This study aims to determine and describe a descriptive study of the dancing activity at the Kindergarten An-Nur Simpang Tiga, Hamparan Rawang District, Sungai Penuh City. This type of research was qualitative research with a descriptive analysis approach. The instruments in this study were the researchers themselves and assisted with supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. Then, the type of research used primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of library studies, observations (observations), interviews and documentation. Next, the steps in analyzing the data were data reduction, data presentation, verification and conclusions. The results showed that there were two dancing activities namely learning activities program and non learning program at An-Nur Kindergarten, Simpang Tiga, Hamparan Rawang District, Sungai Penuh. The dances are taught namely animal dance as the learning activity program and the Depati Parbo dance taught as the non leraning program. The planning carries out before the dance learning program by making RPPM and RPPH.  Whereas, the planning for non learning program is arranged to make a special schedule for training the  children to participate in dancing and prepare everything what the children need when practicing and performing the dance. Keywords: descriptive study, dancing activities, early childhood.

Abstract This research aims to see and describe the students perception toward dance learning in SMA Negeri 7 Padang. Type of the research was qualitative with using descriptive approach. The instrument in this study was the researcher and it was supported by using supporting instruments such as stationery and camera. Types of data used were primary and secondary data. Techniques of data collection were done by using observation, interview and library study. The steps in analyzing data were done by collecting, classifying, describing data and drawing conclusion. The result shows that in general the perception of students at SMA Negeri 7 Padang in class XI IPS 2 is not good. It is because the teachers should use more varied methods or techniques in dance learning, facilities and infrastructures should be provided by the school for dancing, students perception on the dance and perception improvement and students motivation to join the dance lesson that can be supported by inviting the students to pay more attention to dance learning as the subject as important as the other lessons.Keywords: Student perception, Dance Learning

AbstractThis article aims to improve the learning outcomes of the art of dance at SMK Negeri 2 Padang in learning the art of dance.This type of research is the research action class (PTK) using the Think-Pair-Share. Research procedure consists of 4 stages namely action planning, implementation, observation, reflection and reflection. The implementation of the actions conducted as many as two cycles. data collection Techniques used are observation, tests of the subject, as well as documentation. Data analysis technique used is the formula ketuntasan klasial. The results of this study showed that the increase in the acquisition value of the students. It can be seen rising average value of students from pratindakan 71.56 then Cycle I and cycle II 74, 2. Learning outcomes students class X Accounting I SMK N 2 Padang in learning the art of dance with the application of the method of the Think-Pair-Share on Twelve Serampang dance learning increases. The results looked when students have been active in the classroom so that learning becomes effective and efficient as well as impact to the improvement of student learning outcomes. Abstract This research aimed to describe the implementation of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) model on Dance subject at VIII grade of SMP 03 Mukomuko.This research was classroom action research. The object of the research was 25 students of VIIIA class of SMP 03 Mukomuko. The research instrument was the researcher herself and additional instruments were observation sheet and test. The data were attained through library research, observation, documentation, performance test. Then, the data were analyzed.The result showed that the implementation of STAD model on Dance subject at SMP 03 Mukomuko in cycle 2 ran well. Students were motivated in learning in every cycle. The indicators were paying attention to teacher’s explanation, doing group discussion, expressing opinion, spirit of learning, and good movement. Students learning activity in meeting I of cycle 1 was 49.5%, in meeting II was 61% and in meeting I, cycle 2 was 77%. The average score increased from 71 to 80 as it was “very good” and passed the minimum achievement criteria. In short, STAD model was very effective to improve students’ curiosity and made fun learning so that students’ activity and learning result also increased.Keywords: Application Model STAD, Learning Dance, Junior High School Students

AbstrackThe purpose of Students at SMP N 2 Padang Panjang unwillingly attended self-development activities of dancing class. Students were less serious in attending self-development of dancing class during learning. The purpose of this study was to describe students' perceptions on self-development activities of dancing class at SMP N 2 Padang Panjang.This research type was qualitative research which used descriptive approach. The population of this research was the students of grade VII at SMP N 2 Padang Panjang who joined self-development activities of dancing class. The research used primary data. In collecting the data in the field, observation sheets, interviews and cameras were used as the instruments of the research.The findings of this research showed that students 'perceptions on self-development activities of dancing class in SMP N 2 Padang Panjang were, the students' intentions and talents to join the activities, but they did not agree with the teacher’s way and material selection. As a result, the students thought that the activity was boring. The indicators of students' perceptions at SMP N 2 Padang Panjang were 1) the acceptance of students in which the students were interested and talented but they could not focus due to the hasty way of teachers so that students could not understand the material well and they could not express their talent well, 2) Students’ understanding in which the students were not familiar with dance material given by using video; the students did not want to do it, 3) students’ assessment in which students like their teachers but the hasty and repeated way the teachers used in delivering the materials made students feel bored. Abstract Purpose of this research is to conduct cooperative learning method that is STAD to increase students` activities and students` learning outcomes in dance and art learning at Junior High School number 3 Bukittinggi (SMP Negeri 3 Bukittinggi). This research is kind of quantitative research using experimental technique. Instruments of this research are observation sheets of learning process and essay test. The data is analyzed by using t-test in order to see the differences between two groups. The result of the research shows that by using STAD cooperative learning method, students` activities and students` learning outcomes in dance and art learning are increased. In the pre data before the experiment, mean of second semester mid-term test in 2013/2014 period of teaching is 74,19. The mean in experimental group after STAD cooperative learning applied is 83,39, comparing to the mean in control group is 75,83. Abstract This study was aimed to describe and analyze meaning of Bucerai Kasih dance on wedding party in Desa Rantau Pandan Kecamatan Rantau Pandan Kabupaten Bungo Provinsi Jambi. Type of this study was qualitative approach with using analytical descriptive method. Type of data in this study were both primary and secondary. Data were collected by using library research, observation, interview and documentation. The study object was Bucerai Kasih dance on wedding party in Desa Rantau Pandan Kecamatan Rantau Pandan Kabupaten Bungo Provinsi Jambi. Result of this study showed that Bucerai Kasih dance was a traditional dance as the embodiment of the values of society’s daily life in Desa Rantau Pandan. It was about responsibility in living acitvies on the wedding party. The meaning of Bucerai Kasih dance which was seen in aspect of motion were spirit and working hard to keep on living. Besides, in floor pattern aspect, it could be seen that there were solidarity and team work attitudes. Then, in some tools namely properties was meant like each other sign inter the dancer. Costum was meant identity of malay and music was namely song lyric was meant worry of youth who were afraid in separating from love. Moreover, meaning of the dance on wedding party was a warning for the youth that in building of household was not easy. Performance of this dance gave satisfaction to the audicences and people who had celebration and it contained of social values namely teamwork, responsibilty and respect each other which were as the identity and the harmony of life of Desa Rantau Pandan’s society.
