Abstract

This research delves into the implementation of a circular economy in Semarang City, responding to thechallenges of waste management and its environmental impacts. Employing a methodology combiningliterature review and stakeholder interviews, the study analyzes the principles of a circular economy andthe pivotal roles of key actors in its practical application. The theoretical foundation rests upon the conceptsof a circular economy, waste management, and sustainability. The findings indicate progress inimplementation, particularly through the establishment of waste banks and waste management programsinvolving households. The significant roles of the City Government, Mulung Parahita, and the IndonesianNational Army (TNI) are acknowledged, though challenges such as coordination and public awarenessneed to be addressed. The contribution lies in a profound understanding of the circular economy inSemarang City and the identification of key roles and actors. The policy recommendations generated canguide the efforts of the City Government and relevant stakeholders to reinforce circular economy practices,promoting more sustainable resource management at the local level. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mengkaji faktor di balik meningkatnya belanja militer dan ekonomi Filipina. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan serangan terrorist di sisi selatan Filipina dan lonjakan hubungan ekonomi dengan Tiongkok menjadi konteks penting. Seperti negara berkembang lainnya, Filipina berfokus pada pembangunan infrastruktur sebagai landasan bagi aktivitas ekonominya. Kebutuhan tersebut bersinergi dengan kepentingan Tiongkok untuk berinvestasi. Hal itu memicu pertumbuhan ekonomi nasional di Filipina. Sayangnya, problem keamanan di sisi selatan menjadi tantangan serius bagi masa depan perekonomian. Situasi kontradiksi itu (pertumbuhan dan krisis keamanan) mendorong pemerintah meningkatkan anggaran militer. Pertumbuhan ekonomi sebagai akibat meningkatnya investasi asing menjadi konteks yang berkontribusi bagi peningkatan layanan keamanan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitaif dengan teknik analisa data dan literature. Ada dua pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu keamanan dan pertumbuhan. Dalam konteks ini, pendekatan pertumbuhan menjelaskan bagaimana peningkatan interaksi ekonomi dengan Tiongkok mendorong dinamika ekonomi nasional Filipina. Sementara pendekatan keamanan menjelaskan bagaimana stabilitas keamanan menjadi kebutuhan keberlangsungan pertumbuhan. Argumen penelitian ini menentang temuan umum penelitian sebelumnya bahwa di negara berkembang pertumbuhan militer dan ekonomi berkorelasi negative, kasus Filipina menunjukkan sebaliknya. Kata kunci: Terrorisme, Belanja Militer, Layanan Keamanan, Stabilitas, Pertumbuhan

Abstract

China is leading East Asia as the epicentrum of growth in the third decade of 21st century, however, the role of Indonesia is eminent in this rise. Meanwhile, the struggle over influence in the region is acrimonious, as USA, China and Russia are vying for support from countries in this strategic region. Through the lens of neorealism, this study attempts at examining the role of Indonesia in rising East Asia. It argues that Indonesia plays major role especially in mediating and balancing both US – China rivalries through carefully crafted diplomatic strategies. Indonesia provides regional frameworks within which cooperations between opposing countries is possible, while at the same time safeguarding these cooperations through balancing act. Indonesia's strategic position enables it to serve as a global balancer by accepting agreements with China and maintaining close security ties with the United States. Through prudent policies, Indonesia upholds regional stability and plays an effective mediating role among major global powers.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the reason why President Joko Widodo issued Presidential Regulation No. 125 of 2022. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by using secondary data types where the source of research data is obtained through intermediary media or indirectly in the form of books, journals, papers, newspapers. , articles and the internet. The results of this study indicate that the reason President Joko Widodo made Presidential Regulation No. 125 of 2016 regarding the handling of refugees is due to the influence of norms such as international norms, domestic norms, human rights norms and as an alternative to the 1951 Convention and 1967 Protocol not being ratified.

Abstract

ACFTA ASEAN is the cooperation of China or China with countries in an ASEAN region or countries under the Southeast Asian Region. With the establishment of ACFTA ASEAN member countries and China can simplify trade activities between the two. This research aims to find out why Indonesia supports ACFTA ASEAN cooperation in the national interest in the field of Politic, Economic, Ideology and Image in International Association. The theory used by the author is the Theory of the National Interest. This research method uses qualitative methods using a literature approach that generates secondary data from various sources as well as through case studies resulting from the implementation of the ACFTA program. The results in the study explained that ACFTA Cooperation is the existence of a political interest, economic interest, ideological interest and image interest in National Development.
