Abstract

Weeds are plants whose presence is unwanted because they interfere with and reduce the yield of cultivated plants. One of the plantation crops with high economic value is coconut. Coconut is a commodity that can make a major contribution to the economy in Indonesia. The presence of weeds in coconut plantations will reduce yields. This study aims to determine the diversity and dominance of weed species that grow in the coconut plantation area in Tial Village, Central Maluku Regency. This study uses the "weed survey" method to collect data by direct observation in the field. In conducting vegetation analysis, the quadratic method was used with a sample plot measuring 1 m x 1 m. For sampling in the coconut planting area in Tial Country, 6 plant samples were taken at each plant stage to obtain 12 plant samples and repeated 3 times to obtain 36 observation samples. Observations of weeds in Tial Village showed that in the immature coconut planting area, there were 11 broadleaf weed species from 10 broadleaf weed families, 3 pakisan weed species from 2 pakisan weed families and 1 grassy weed species from the Poaceae and 1 type of tekian weed from the Cypeaceae tribe, as well as from observations of weeds in Tial Village, it shows that in the coconut plantation area at the productive stage, there are 13 types of broadleaf weeds from 11 broadleaf weed families, 2 types of pakisan weeds from 1 pakisan weed tribe and 1 type of grass weed from the Poaceae tribe and 1 type of tekian weed from the Cypeaceae tribe. Based on the total dominant value Summed Domination Ratio (SDR) the immature plant had the highest value, Thuja occidentalis 26.78 percent from the Convovulaceae tribe. In the coconut planting area the mature stage of the plant having the highest SDR value was Stelaria holasta.L 29.21 percent from the Caryophylaceae.

Abstract

Indonesia has a very high diversity of ecosystems ranging from land areas to the ocean, includingsmall islands in Maluku Province. The diversity of plant species on small islands is stronglyinfluenced by local habitats and climates. The Maluku region has site-specific crops such as clovesand nutmeg that are cultivated by most farmers. But in reality, there has been a continuous declinein production and one of the causes is the presence of weeds. The objective study is to identify thetypes of weeds and SDR values in the clove planting area in Ariate Village, West Seram Regency. The survey method is used to collect data directly in the field. In conducting vegetation analysis, thepurposive quadratic method is used. Data collected in the form of primary data and secondary dataThis study used a sample plot measuring 1 x 1 m. The results showed the presence of 10 types ofbroadleaf weeds, from 6 families in this village. The dominant weed in the clove planting area at thestage of immature plants is Clidemia hirta weed with an SDR value of 57,574%

Abstract

Fertilizers are very important nutrients added to plants. Bokashi fertilizer is an organic fertilizer that is very useful when applied to plants because it contains beneficial microorganisms that are able to provide plant nutrients through the recycling process and form a soil structure that is suitable for plant growth. This study aimed to determine the growth of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) by the application of water weed (Pistia stratiotes) bokashi. The research method used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) of two factors with three replications. The treatment factors consisted of water weed (Pistia stratiotes) bokashi doses of P0, P1, P2 and P3 (0, 10, 20, and 30 ton.ha-1), and bokashi time application of T1, T2 and T3 (14 days before planting, 7 days before planting, at the same time as planting). The size of the plot is 1 m × 1 m and in 1 plot there are 12 plants. Data observed in this study consisted of growth variables analysed using Analysis of Variance and continued with the Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at ? = 5%. Results of this study showed that the dose of bokashi water weed (Pistia stratiotes) treatment was 20 ton.ha-1 (P2), bokashi time application was 7 days before planting (T2), and the interaction gave a very significant effect on all growth observation variables including plant length, number of leaves, and area leaf.

Abstract

Coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) is a species to be cultivated in Mollucas. Recently, the population of coconut plants has to be decreased as a result of broad leaf weeds that impede the growth of coconut, especially in the nursery phases. The identification of broad leaf weeds is the first step in controlling weeds. However, until now, there has been no research on the influence of broad leaves weed species is important as the base of accurate weed control. This research on broad leaf weed composition in the coconut planting area is important as the base of accuracy is based on Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) at the production plant in Tial Village, Village Central Mollucas District. This research uses the weed survey method type quadrat method with a sample plot size of 1 m x 1m. The result shows that 13 species of broad leaves weed, 12 families in the areal coconut planting in Tial village

Abstract

Productivity of Chinese cabbage (Brassica rapa L.) often declines due to low nitrogen nutrient availability and high competition from weeds in cultivated land. The inappropriate application of nitrogen fertilizer doses can result in suboptimal plant growth, while uncontrolled weeds compete with crops for water, light, nutrients, and growing space. In addition, ineffective weeding frequency may inhibit growth and reduce the yield of Chinese cabbage. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyze the effects of nitrogen fertilizer dosage, weeding frequency, and their interaction on the growth and production of Chinese cabbage as a basis for improving crop cultivation management. The study employed a two-factor Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications. The factors consisted of nitrogen fertilizer dosage and weeding frequency treatments. The results showed that nitrogen fertilizer dosage and weeding frequency significantly affected the growth and production of Chinese cabbage. The N2P3 treatment (urea at a dose of 200 kg/ha combined with three weeding applications) produced the best results in suppressing weed growth and increasing Chinese cabbage production.
