Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh pemberian teh herbal kombinasi daun salam (Syzygium nervosum DC) dan kayu manis (Cinnamomum burmannii (Nees & T. Nees) Blume) terhadap penurunan kadar asam urat pada tikus putih jantan model hiperurisemia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian teh herbal kombinasi daun salam dan kayu manis dibanding pemberian tunggalnya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental menggunakan 30 ekor tikus dan dikelompokan menjadi 5 kelompok perlakuan. Untuk mendapatkan tikus yang hiperurisemia diinduksi dengan kalium oksonat selama tiga hari dan jus hati ayam selama tujuh hari. Dari masing-masing kelompok kemudian diberikan sediaan uji yaitu tween 80 1% sebagai kontrol negatif, allopurinol 1,8 mg/200gBB sebagai kontrol positif, kontrol perlakuan teh herbal daun salam 72mg/200gBB, teh herbal kayu manis 72mg/200gBB, teh herbal kombinasi daun salam dan kayu manis (1:1). Pemberian sediaan diberikan selama 14 hari. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah strip test, kemudian dilanjutkan analisa data menggunakan uji Independent-Samples T Test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa teh herbal daun salam, teh herbal kayu manis dan teh herbal kombinasi memiliki efek antihiperurisemia dengan persen penurunan kadar asam urat berturut-turut sebesar 30,122%, 42,426%, 43,628 %. Dari data analisis menunjukan bahwa sediaan teh herbal kombinasi menghasilkan efek yang setara dengan tunggalnya.

Abstract

Cholesterol and uric acid increase the risk of heart disease and stroke because they often occur together. To prevent and control cholesterol and uric acid, it is important to understand the causes, symptoms, and treatments. One way to reduce cholesterol and uric acid levels is pineapple juice, the purpose of the activity is to increase knowledge about the use of pineapple juice as a cholesterol and uric acid reducer in the community, the activity method with education and assistance in making pineapple juice, the activity was carried out on Elementary Madrasah and Junior High School Teachers, Ummul Quro Al-Hamidiyah Foundation, Jl. Kyai Muara Ogan Kertapati Palembang Mosque, totaling 15 people on December 19, 2024. The results of the activity stated that the teachers understood the function of pineapple and were able to practice in making juice. The conclusion of the activity stated that the teachers' knowledge increased after direct evaluation after education and assistance were carried out.

Abstract

The introduction and use of traditional medicine is an alternative step to carry out natural and effective treatment. Traditional medicine has great potential to improve people's health. Not many people use herbs for medicinal purposes, so the community service activity team aims to increase knowledge about Traditional Medicine (Herbal Medicine), especially for teenagers. Currently, teenagers prefer to use modern medicine, so their knowledge and experience regarding traditional medicine are still very lacking. Knowledge about herbal medicine is important for teenagers because it can help them use traditional medicine appropriately. Good knowledge of herbal medicine can also help prevent traditional medicine that can heal from becoming dangerous. The activity method is carried out using education through counseling about the introduction and use of traditional medicine (Herbal Medicine), which is carried out for students at Ummul Quro Al-Hamidiyah Foundation Middle School, Masjid Kyai Muara Ogan Street, Kertapati Palembang. This activity was held on December 19, 2024, with 50 participants from Ummul Quro Al-Hamidiyah Foundation Middle School students. The activity results stated that students understood the counseling about using traditional medicine (Herbal Medicine) well.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the long-term conditions that can lead to serious complications. One of the best ways to reduce the risk of hypertension complications is to inform people about blood pressure checks and to have blood pressure checks early. Therefore, the purpose of the activity is to increase knowledge of early detection of blood pressure checks in preventing the risk of hypertension complications, the method of activity with education and blood pressure checks was carried out on Elementary Madrasah and Junior High School Teachers of the Ummul Quro Al-Hamidiyah Foundation Jl. Kyai Muara Ogan Mosque Kertapati Palembang, totaling 15 people on December 19, 2024. The results of the activity stated that teachers understand early detection of blood pressure checks in preventing the risk of hypertension complications. The conclusion of the activity stated that teachers' knowledge increased after direct evaluation after education and mentoring were carried out.

Abstract

The biosynthesis of ZnO nanoparticles and chitosan-ZnO nanoparticles has been carried out. The aims of this research were to modify and characterize of chitosan-ZnO nanoparticles and their application as an antibacterial agent of Escherichia coli. The characterization of chitosan-ZnO nanoparticles was conducted by FTIR spectroscopy and X-Ray diffractometer. ZnO nanoparticle was synthesized by the reaction between leaf extract of the common guava (Psidium guajava L) and zinc acetate dihydrate. Chitosan-ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized by the reaction between chitosan and ZnO nanoparticles. The agar diffusion method was used to study the antibacterial activity of chitosan-ZnO nanoparticles. The result showed that the wavenumber of FTIR spectra chitosan-ZnO nanoparticles appeared at 3427 cm−1. The crystalline size of ZnO nanoparticles was 16.54 nm. The average inhibition zone of chitosan-ZnO nanoparticles at concentration 10,000; 5,000; and 2.500 mg/L were 30.57 ± 0.87; 25.97 ± 1.42; and 23.10 ± 1.61 mm, respectively. The higher the concentration of chitosan-ZnO nanoparticles, the greater the inhibition zone.

Abstract

An effective and environmentally friendly dishwashing soap is needed because conventional dishwashing soaps often contain harmful chemicals that can damage the environment. Petai cina leaves, or Moringa oleifera, have antibacterial and antioxidant properties, making them a natural choice for cleaning care. Housewives will not be separated from dishwashing soap, so the PkM team aims to Socialize the Making of Dishwashing Soap with the Innovation of Adding Petai Cina Leaf Infusion to Teachers at the Ummul Quro Al-Hamidiyah Islamic Education Foundation. The method used is education and explaining how to make it, although not all participants can make it, at least they know the process of making it, the number of participants is 15 teachers, carried out on December 19, 2024. The results of the activity showed that participants were enthusiastic about participating in the activity. After the educational activities and mentoring, teachers understood what was explained by the speaker.

Abstract

Acne is a common skin problem experienced by the community. Characterized by red spots, inflammation, and blackheads, or clogged pores, on the face, neck, and back. Acne is a scary specter for teenagers, especially during puberty, where teenagers want to look their best and glowing, this will be a big problem if the teenager has acne, it will reduce their level of self-confidence, so there is a need for education for students. The purpose of this PkM activity is to introduce students to the innovation of natural products that can be used to treat acne. The method of activity carried out by means of education and assistance in the Innovation of Natural Products That Can Be Used to Treat Acne. The education participants were students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah and SMP Yayasan Ummul Quro Al-Hamidiyah totaling 50 students. The activity was carried out on Thursday, December 19, 2024. The results of the activity showed that the students were very enthusiastic about participating, and the students had understood what was explained by the speaker. The conclusion of the activity shows that there was an increase in student knowledge after being given education about Natural Product Innovations That Can Be Used to Treat Acne.

Abstract

Muscle pain is a common muscle pain experienced by people. Actually, there are household spices that can be used to reduce muscle pain, including ginger, turmeric, galangal, and pepper, etc., therefore the community service activity team aims to provide education about the benefits of Household Spices to Relieve Muscle Pain. The activity method is by means of education and introduction of Household Spices to Relieve Muscle Pain, the activity was carried out on Elementary and Middle School Teachers of the Ummul Quro Al-Hamidiyah Foundation Jl. Kyai Muara Ogan Kertapati Palembang Mosque, totaling 15 people on December 19, 2024. The results of the activity stated that the teachers understood the Utilization of Household Spices to Relieve Muscle Pain.

Abstract

Herbal tea has many health benefits. Herbal tea has attracted public attention as a potential source of natural antioxidants. Keji Beling leaves (Strobilanthes crispus L.) and cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum burmannii) are natural ingredients that can be processed into herbal tea that has antioxidant compounds. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity value (IC50) of the combination of Keji Beling tea and cinnamon (1:0, 0:1, and 1:1) with variations in brewing temperatures of 60°C and 80°C for 5 minutes. Antioxidant testing used the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) method. The results of this study indicate that a 1:1 comparison sample at 60°C can have greater antioxidant activity than the two single sample with an IC50 value of 60.13 ppm.Keywords: Antioxidant, keji beling, cinnamon, infusion, herbal tea.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kulit buah naga merah dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai media untuk interaksi secara kimia dengan larutan boraks secara sederhana. Kegiatan ini mempunyai tujuan yaitu demonstrasi tentang interaksi kimia antara antosianin di dalam kulit buah naga merah dengan larutan boraks dan dilanjutkan dengan diskusi dengan para siswa SMA Islam Terpadu Bina Ilmi. Pembuatan ekstrak cair dari kulit buah naga merah yaitu dengan metode sederhana dan mudah. Proses ini adalah mereaksikan kulit buah naga merah yang telah dihaluskan dengan aquades. Ekstrak cair kulit buah naga merah selanjutnya direaksikan dengan larutan boraks. Hasil dari demonstrasi yang telah dilakukan dinyatakan bahwa ekstrak cair kulit buah naga merah dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai medium untuk pengujian secara kualitatif senyawa boraks. Warna ekstrak cair kulit buah naga merah berubah menjadi warna ungu setelah diinteraksikan dengan larutan boraks. Kata Kunci: Ekstrak Cair, Boraks, Demonstrasi, Diskusi  ABSTRACT Peels from red dragon fruits can be utilized as a media for straightforward chemical reactions with solutions of borax. This activity had the aim of demonstrating the chemical interaction between anthocyanin in red dragon fruit peel and borax solution and was followed by a discussion with the students of Bina Ilmi Integrated Islamic High School. Making a liquid extract of red dragon fruit peel is done using a simple and easy method. This process involves reacting the mashed red dragon fruit peel with distilled water. The liquid extract of red dragon fruit peel is then reacted with a borax solution. The results of the demonstration that had been carried out stated that the liquid red dragon fruit extract of peel could be used as a medium for qualitative testing of borax compounds. The color of the liquid extract of red dragon fruit peel changes to purple after interacting with the borax solution.  Keywords: Liquid Extract, Borax, Demonstration, Discussion
