Abstract

This study was to determine how long, chest circumference, shoulder height, and hip height, as well as other body measurements, fall with body weight and carcass weight. Regression and correlation analysis were used after data were collected directly through observation. Mat Beken Farm in Jambi was the source of this data. Male Jawarandu goats were selected as samples for this study. Goats at the ages of (2-2.5) years and (3-3.5) years were known to have permanent incisor teeth, weighing, and body measurements such as length, chest circumference, shoulder height, and hip height. Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the relationship between slaughter weight and carcass weight with yield grade and Rib Eye Muscle Area (udamaru) in male Jawarandu goats. The research involved 30 male Jawarandu goats slaughtered at the Mat Beken Slaughterhouse, Jambi City, which were classified into two age groups, namely I2 (2–2.5 years) and I3 (3–3.5 years). Data collected included slaughter weight, carcass weight, yield grade, and Rib Eye Muscle Area, and were analyzed using simple and multiple linear regression methods.The results indicated that in the individual age groups I2 and I3, the relationship between slaughter weight and carcass weight with yield grade and Rib Eye Muscle Area was not statistically significant. Abstract

Dadih or Curd is a fermented product from buffalo milk. The availability of milk buffalo is limited so try replacing it with cow’s milk. This research applies cow's milk to make curd which is enriched with Moringa leaf powder. This research aims to evaluate the level/concentration of Moringa leaf powder which can improve the physical quality of the curd milk cow. This research was arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments of Moringa leaf powder levels which consist of 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2%. The data had analyzed with analysis of variance (ANOVA) and different between treatment were analyze with Duncan's tests. The experiment results showed that the addition of Moringa leaf meals in the curd did not difference effect of physical quality of curd cow's milk. The research  concluded that the use of Moringa leaf powder of up to 2% can be used in producing of  cow's milk curd.

Abstract

Biogas slurry is an organic product derived from livestock manure and produced through an aerobic fermentation process that can be used to improve soil fertility, forage production, and quality. This study aimed to investigate the effect of slurry organic fertilizer on crude protein content, crude fiber, and total fermentation gas production in the rumen in vitro . The study was conducted in a completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of five treatments of slurry levels as organic fertilizer and four replications consisting of two experimental units. The treatments consisted of S0 = without slurry, S1 = slurry 20 g/polybag, S2 = slurry 25 g/polybag, S3 = slurry 30 g/polybag, and S4 = slurry 35 g/polybag. The variables measured in this study were crude protein content, crude fiber, and total fermentation gas production. The data obtained were analyzed using a variance analysis (ANOVA). Duncan’s test was used to determine the effect of different levels of slurry on the measured parameters. The results showed that the use of slurry as an organic fertiliser increases crude protein content by an average of 16.06%, increases crude protein production from 1.47 g/poly bag to 96.38 g/poly bag and improves fermentability in the rumen by an average of 8.08% of setaria grass (Setaria splendida Stapf). The use of slurry at the level of 35 g/poly bag is recommended for the cultivation of setaria grass (Setaria splendida Stapf).

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the shape and closeness of the relationship between slaughter weight and carcass weight with yield grade and rib eye muscle area in kacang goats. The material used in the research was 30 male kacang goats at the Mat Beken livestock business with 15 age groups I2 (2 -2,5years), and 15 I3 (3 -3,5 years). The tools used are knives, machetes, ropes, "WeiHeng" hanging scales with a capacity of 50 kg with an accuracy of 0.01 kg, digital cake scales with a capacity of 10 kg with an accuracy of 0.001 kg, transparent plastic, grid paper, number label paper, latex gloves. , calipers with an accuracy of 0.01 mm and writing tools. The variables observed were slaughter weight, carcass weight, rib eye muscle area, fat depok percentage, back fat thickness. Data analysis was carried out using correlation and regression analysis. To determine the form of relationship between slaughter weight and carcass weight (Independent Variables) with yield grade and rib eye muscle area (Dependent Variables) in kacang goats. Multiple linear regression was used, while to determine the relationship between slaughter weight and carcass weight with yield grade and rib eye muscle area, simple linear regression was used. To determine the accuracy of the regression formula in estimating yield grade and rib eye muscle area, the deviation percentage is used. The results of a simple correlation analysis showed that there was a very significant relationship (P<0.01) between slaughter weight and yield grade and rib eye muscle area for I2-aged Kacang goats, while the age of I3-aged Kacang goats for slaughter weight and yield grade had a correlation. significant (P<0.05), there was a very significant relationship between carcass weight and yield grade and rib eye muscle area for I2 and I3 goat ages (P<0.01). The results of multiple analysis showed that slaughter weight and carcass weight with yield grade and rib muscle area for I2 and I3 age goats had a very significant relationship (P<0.01). Based on the results and discussion it could be concluded that slaughter weight and carcass weight can be used as an estimate of yield grade and rib muscle area of kacang goats.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of condensed tannin from sengon leaf extract in protecting Indigofera zollingeriana (TIZ) flour protein as seen from the total gas and methane gas production produced in vitro. The research was conducted using a completely randomised design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments consisted of P0 = TIZ + 0% condensed tannin (CT), P2 = TIZ + 0.5% CT, P3 = TIZ + 1% CT, P4 = TIZ + 1.5% CT, P5 = TIZ + 2% CT. The observed variables were total gas, methane gas, carbon dioxide (CO2), and pH. The results showed that the protection of TIZ protein with CT from sengon leaf extract, significantly (P<0.05) decreased the production of total gas, methane gas (P<0.05), and increased carbon dioxide gas (CO2) (P<0.05) and significantly (P<0.05) affected the pH. It can be concluded that the protection of TIZ with CT from sengon leaf extract at the 1% level effectively reduces total gas production and methane gas. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas dari tannin kondensasi dari ekstrak daun sengon dalam memproteksi protein tepung Indigofera zollingeriana (TIZ) yang dilihat dari gas total dan produksi gas metan yang dihasilkan secara in vitro. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Perlakuan yang diterapkan terdiri dari P0 = TIZ + 0% tanin kondensasi (TK), P2= TIZ + 0,5% TK, P3 =TIZ+ 1 % TK, P4 = TIZ+ 1,5% TK, P5 = TIZ + 2% TK. Peubah yang diamati terdiri dari total gas, gas metan, karbondioksida (CO2) dan pH. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan proteksi protein TIZ dengan TK dari ekstrak daun sengon, berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) menurunkan produksi total gas, gas metan (P<0,05), dan meningkatkan gas karbondioksida (CO2) (P<0,05) serta nyata,(P<0,05) berpengaruh terhadap pH. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa proteksi TIZ dengan TK dari ekstrak daun sengon pada taraf 1% efektif menurunkan total produksi gas dan gas metan.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of dietary inclusion of sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) in high-concentrate ruminant feed on the in vitro digestibility of fiber fractions, including Neutral Detergent Fiber digestibility (NDFD), Acid Detergent Fiber digestibility (ADFD), and hemicellulose digestibility. The experiment was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments consisted of: P0 = 20% forage + 80% concentrate + 0% sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3); P1= P0 + 2.5% (NaHCO3); P2 = P0 + 5% (NaHCO3); P3 = P0 + 7.5% (NaHCO3); and P4 = P0 + 10% (NaHCO3). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki performa pertumbuhan ternak sapi Bali yang dipeliharaan oleh peternak melalui suplementasi limbah tahu dan mineral Zn-Cu organik. Ternak yang digunakan sebanyak 12 ekor sapi Bali jantan muda umur 1.5 tahun dengan kisaran berat badan 120 - 130 kg. Pakan yang diberikan yaitu berupa hijauan rumput rawa yang diberikan secara tidak terbatas sesuai dengan kebiasaan peternak. Sedangkan ampas tahu diberikan sebanyak 1% dari berat badan. Mineral organik berupa Zn dan Cu diberikan sebanyak 1% atau 2% dari BK ampas tahu yang diberikan. Percobaan in vivo dilaksanakan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan empat perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari : R0 = Rumput rawa + 0% Ampas Tahu (AT) + 0% Zn-Cu Organik; R1 = Rumpu Rawa + 1% AT/kg BB Sapi + 0% Zn-Cu Organik R2 = Rumput rawa + 1% AT/kg BB sapi + 1% Zn-Cu Organik/kg BK AT; R2 = Rumput rawa + 1% AT/kg BB sapi + 2% Zn-Cu Organik/kg BK AT. Peubah yang diamati yaitu konsumsi bahan kering rnasum, pertambahan bobot badan dan efisiensi penggunaan ransum. Analisis ragam dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh perlakuan terhadap peubah yang diamati, dilanjtkan denganuji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi AT dan Zn-Cu organik pada taraf 2% (R3) cenderung menghasilkan pertambahan bobot badan harian tertinggi (0,51 kg), konsumsi bahan kering (6,99 kg) dan efisiensi penggunaan pakan (7.92%). Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi probiotik asal dari kulit nanas yang ditambahkan ke dalam mineral blok sebagai suplementasi dalam ransum. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan dua tahap: Tahap pertama isolasi bakteri asal kulit nanas.Tahap kedua adalah pembuatan mineral blok yang berisikan probiotik disusunlah 4 macam komposisi minerail blok plus probiotik lalu di analisa secara invitro dan uji daya tahan penyimpanan mineral blok-plus. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan 4 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan. Analisis data dikerjakan menurut program SAS. Peubah yang diamati adalah total produksi gas, KCBK, KCBO sampel secara invitro. Hasil isolasi yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah pada kulit nanas terdapat bakteri positif dengan jumlah koloni bakterinya sebanyak = 2, 92 x 10 10 . Jumlah koloni bakteri dalam I gram mineral blok adalah 1,72 x 10 6 , ketahanan bakteri dalam mineral blok pada penyimpanan seminggu 1,97 x 10 10 (pengenceran sepuluh) dan penyimpanan 1 bulan dengan jumlah koloni sebanyak 1,52 x 1010 pada pengenceran tujuh serta ketahanan bakteri dalam mineral blok hingga 1,5 bulan pada pengenceran lima adalah 1, 45 x 10 9 cfu sampai 107. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan perlakuan mineral blok-plus tidak nyata (P>0.05) berpengaruh terhadap nilai KcBK, KcBO dan Total Produksi gas. Total produksi gas yang dihasilkan berkisar(109,00 – 152,83 ml), KcBK mineral blok-plus berkisar 63.58 – 66.33% dan KcBO berkisar 71.02 –72.79%. Dari hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa Penggunaan probiotik sebesar 0,5% dalam mineral blok sebagai suplemen pakan ternak ruminansia sudah dapat memberikan hasil yang baik
