Abstract

Education for a child is very important for motor development and his thinking becomes critical in responding to an incident. His skills can be honed properly and master skills that support his future career. So that the potential for the progress of each child can be achieved and learning objectives can be completed optimally. In life, of course, you will not be separated from various kinds of problems, so the solution to every problem must exist and be able to solve it. The problem based learning strategy is the answer to improve problem solving skills. This strategy is a problem-triggered learning model, which encourages students to learn and work cooperatively in groups to find solutions, think critically and analytically, be able to determine and use appropriate learning resources. For this reason, it is necessary to apply this method in education. The purpose of this research was to improve problem solving skills using the problem based learning (PBL) method. By maximizing this method many positive impacts will be obtained. The method used in this research is a quantitative method. The data obtained is through the distribution of a questionnaire. The questionnaire was made using the Google form application. The results of this study explain that the use of problem based learning strategies to improve problem solving skills in education can help students solve problems with the right solutions. As well as sharpening the ability to think critically and systematically, so that they can be more mature in responding to various problems. The conclusion of this study is that the use of problem-based learning strategies to improve problem-solving skills by students can be maximized, because they have mastered the right and effective way to solve a problem. The limitation of this research is that researchers only conduct this research at the school level where the method requires new strategies in learning such as the use of problem based learning strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of AR: GeoGebra 3D Calculator in improving students' understanding of mathematical concepts in three-dimensional materials. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pseudo-experimental method. The sample consisted of 69 eleventh grade students from MAS Al-Washliyah 22, which was divided into an experimental group (35 students) using AR: GeoGebra 3D Calculator and a control group (34 students) using conventional methods. The data collection technique is carried out through a concept comprehension test, namely pretest and posttest. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively on the test results obtained using an independent t-test test for normalized gain. The results showed that the experimental group showed a significantly higher increase in average scores from pretest to postes compared to the control group. The results of the independent t-test of the postes scores showed that there was a significant difference between the two groups. The normalized gain analysis further confirmed that the experimental group achieved a higher improvement (0.61) than the control group (0.41), with a significant difference (t = 4.876, p <0.001). The results of this study show that the use of AR: GeoGebra 3D Calculator significantly improves students' understanding of concepts in three-dimensional materials compared to conventional methods

Abstract

Matematika merupakan pelajaran yang membosankan di kelas jika tidak menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Maka diperlukan suatu aplikasi pembelajaran yang mendukung siswa dalam belajar, salah satunya adalah aplikasi autograph. Autograph merupakan aplikasi khusus yang dikembangkan untuk pembelajaran matematika. Saat pelatihan berlangsung, siswa diberi kebebasan untuk mencoba berbagai sistem pertidaksamaan, mengamati gambar grafik, memperhatikan arah arsiran, dan bagaimana memperoleh titik potong yang terbentuk dari dua garis atau lebih. Metode yang dilakukan dalam pelatihan ini adalah metode praktik langsung dan pendampingan. Berdasarkan hasil tes setelah dilakukan pelatihan, diperoleh 82% siswa mampu menggunakan aplikasi autograph. Hasil angket diperoleh data 85,3% menyatakan bahwa pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi autograph sangat bagus untuk pembelajaran di kelas. Pelatihan ini memberikan pengalaman baru bagi siswa dalam belajar matematika dan mempermudah siswa dalam memahami konsep materi yang diajarkan.

Abstract

This research aims to describe gamification-based learning using Kahoot to enhance students' interest in online learning. This study employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. The design used is one group pretest-posttest. The sample in this study consists of 30 students from the Physical Education, Health, and Recreation study program. Data collection techniques were conducted through a learning interest questionnaire given before the learning (pretest) and after the learning (posttest) and an observation sheet for the implementation of learning. Data analysis used paired t-test. The research results indicate that there is a 15.5% increase in student learning interest with a t-value of 15.847, p < 0.001, which means there is a significant difference in the increase of student learning interest before and after the implementation of gamification-based learning with Kahoot. The success rate of the learning implementation is 88.75% across all observed aspects, including lesson preparation, execution, student activities, and time management. These findings indicate that gamification-based learning using Kahoot can enhance student learning interest in online learning.

Abstract

Penulisan skripsi merupakan salah satu persyaratan untuk mendapatkan gelar sarjana di Univesritas Pembinaan Masyarakat Indonesia (UPMI) Medan. Tujuan kegiatan ini memberikan pelatihan penulisan sitasi dan daftar pustaka bagi mahasiswa tingkat akhir dalam penulisan skripsi menggunakan aplikasi mendeley. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di Universitas Pembinaan Masyarakat Indonesia (UPMI) Medan. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini adalah mencakup ceramah variatif disertai dengan tutorial. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah berupa kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menulis sitasi dengan benar menggunkan aplikasi mendeley sehingga dapat menghindari plagiarism dalam penulisan skripsi, sebelumnya mahasiswa masih menulis sitasi dan daftar pustaka secara manual, plagiarism juga masih ditemukan pada skripsi. Dengan diberikan pelatiahan ini mahasiswa memiliki kemampuan menulis sitasi dan daftar pustaka dengan aplikasi mendeley. Kata Kunci: Pelatihan; Mendeley; Penulisan; Skripsi

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan sosialisasi kepada guru tentang penggunaan platform quizizz untuk evaluasi pembelajaran. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini adalah mencakup ceramah variatif disertai dengan simulasi, kegiatan dikatakan berhasil apabila respon peserta yang menjawab sangat bermanfaat lebih dari 70%. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah berupa kecakapan guru-guru dalam menggunakan platform quizizz pada kegiatan pembelajaran. Sebelumnya guru – guru  SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Medan belum pernah menggunakan platform quizizz dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Kegiatan ini mendapat respon sangat bermanfaat bagi guru sebesar 90%, artinya kegiatan PKM ini berhasil dilaksanakan. Kata Kunci: Sosialisai; Penggunaan; Platfrom Quizizz

Abstract

Educational tools are very important to be implemented in the learning process. This is because educational tools can increase students' learning motivation so that learning is more meaningful, innovative and creative. However, the reality in the field is that when the learning process is in the classroom, teachers do not use learning media such as educational tools. This results in low student interest in learning mathematics, which also makes students' mathematical abilities low. Therefore, the community service team carried out community service activities regarding the use of educational tools in classroom learning. This community service activity aims to increase students' interest in learning and also their mathematical abilities. This community service activity was carried out at MIS Nurul Hidayah Medan. Participants in this activity were grade IV students consisting of 32 students. This activity was carried out on May 7, 2025. The methods used in this community service activity were preparation and planning, implementation and evaluation. The results of this community service activity were that students were more interested and enthusiastic in using educational tools with picture cards (flash cards) and there was an increase in students' mathematical abilities after using the educational tool.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the computational thinking (CT) skills of elementary school students through unplugged coding activity sheets in mathematics learning. The research uses a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design pre-experimental design. The subjects of the study are 25 fourth-grade students from Muhammadiyah 18 Medan, selected through purposive sampling. Data was collected using a CT ability test administered before and after the learning session. Data analysis was conducted using a paired sample t-test and N-Gain calculation. The research results show a significant increase in students' CT ability with an average score rising from 54.48 (pre-test) to 73.32 (post-test), a t-statistic value of -86.782, and a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The N-Gain value of 0.65 indicates the effectiveness of learning in the medium category. All CT indicators showed improvement, with generalization experiencing the highest increase (39.6%), followed by decomposition (39.3%), abstraction (38.9%), and algorithmic thinking (38.6%). However, the debugging and iteration indicators showed relatively lower increases of 28.7% and 23.6%, respectively. This research demonstrates that mathematics learning with unplugged coding activity sheets can be a solution to develop the CT abilities of primary school students with limited technological devices.

Abstract

Matematika merupakan salah satu pelajaran yang kurang disukai siswa karena dianggap sulit dan membosankan. Oleh sebab itu diperlukan aplikasi pembelajaran agar pembelajaran menjadi menyenangkan seperti aplikasi kalkulator grafik. Pada kalkulator grafik, siswa diberi kebebasan untuk mencoba berbagai pertidaksamaan garis, mengamati berbagai bentuk garis, arah arsiran sesuai dengan bentuk pertidaksamaan, dan titik potong yang terbentuk dari dua garis atau lebih. Melalui aplikasi ini, siswa akan lebih mudah memahami materi program linear dan tidak merasa bosan belajar di kelas. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah metode pendampingan dan praktik langsung. Setelah dilaksanakan pelatihan, 85% siswa telah mampu menggunakan aplikasi ini dan hasil angket menyatakan bahwa 95% siswa merasa pelatihan ini sangat bermanfaat. Pelatihan ini memberikan informasi yang baru kepada siswa bahwa belajar matematika tidak sesulit yang mereka bayangkan.
