Abstract

Artificial reefs have capability to enhance the environment, improve aesthetics and provide protection needed in certain coastal areas. The perforated hollow cylindrical shape artificial reefs are proposed as submerged breakwater due to characteristics that are not found in conventional breakwaters such as the water circulation and fish habitat enhancement capability. As submerged breakwater, the performance of artificial reefs are displayed by their capabilities in reducing wave energy. The change of wave energy spectrum in the vicinity of perforated hollow cylindrical shape artificial reefs is presented in this paper. The influence of wave steepness, relative reef height and relative reef width to the spectrum wave transmission were studied by physical model. The change of the wave spectrum were observed by comparing the area of the incoming wave spectrum to the transmitted wave spectrum. It is shown that the energy of incoming wave were reduced significantly by artificial reefs, providing the quiescent area in the shoreline.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara indeks pengindraan jauh (Burn Area Index/BAI, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index/NDVI, dan Enhanced Vegetation Index/EVI) dengan tingkat pencemaran udara, khususnya konsentrasi PM2.5, di kota Jakarta pasca pandemi. Data diambil dari berbagai stasiun pemantau kualitas udara (SPKUA) di Jakarta selama tahun 2022. Hasil analisis menunjukkan variasi signifikan dalam konsentrasi PM2.5 yang berkaitan erat dengan fluktuasi BAI, NDVI, dan EVI. Peningkatan BAI selama musim kemarau bertepatan dengan peningkatan konsentrasi PM2.5, menandakan aktivitas kebakaran yang lebih intensif. Sebaliknya, NDVI dan EVI yang lebih tinggi selama musim penghujan berkorelasi dengan penurunan konsentrasi PM2.5, menunjukkan kondisi vegetasi yang lebih baik dapat membantu mengurangi polusi udara. Analisis Principal Component Analysis (PCA) lebih lanjut mengungkapkan bahwa bulan-bulan dengan karakteristik musim yang sama memiliki pola pencemaran udara dan indeks vegetasi yang serupa. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya strategi mitigasi polusi udara dan manajemen lingkungan yang tepat untuk meningkatkan kualitas udara dan kesehatan lingkungan di Jakarta.

Abstract

The level of waters fertility is closely relate to the abundance and composition of plankton. Phytoplankton is a biological parameter that can be used as an indicator of the fertility of a waters. The purpose of this study was to determined the community structure of phytoplankton and the level of fertility in the waters of Pasir Putih beach, Situbondo. The study was conducted at five stasions in Watu Lawang waters, Pasir Putih Beach, Situbondo. The Sampling used purposive sampling method. Seawater samples were filtered on the surface of each station using plankton net number 25. Then, water samples were identified in the Microbiology Laboratory of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The results of identification of phytoplankton in the waters of Watu Lawang, Pasir Putih Beach, Situbondo obtained 4 classes that consisted of Bacillariophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Chlorophyceae, and Dinophyceae family. The phytoplankton composition found during the study was dominated by the Bacillariophyceae class. The genus Bacteriastrum sp and Chaetoceros sp were found in all observation stations. The highest phytoplankton abundance was at station IV with an abundance of 1670 cells L-1. And the lowest abundance of phytoplankton was at station I with an abundance value of 730 cells L-1. The diversity of phytoplankton was categorized in the low diversity level (H’<2.3). The Uniformity index value was classified as unstable (0 <E <0.5). On the other hand, The average value of the Saprobic Index in the waters of Watu Lawang, Pasir Putih, Situbondo was 1.6 which was classified as the Oligosaprobic phase (very slight polluted).

Abstract

Kanker payudara merupakan penyebab kematian kedua terbanyak di Indonesia. Bioprospeksi senyawa bioaktif dari organisme laut diharapkan dapat menjadi salah satu solusi pencegahan kanker payudara. Crassostrea angulata merupakan salah satu spesies tiram laut yang biasa dikonsumsi dan memiliki sejarah etnomedik di kalangan masyarakat Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi potensi senyawa bioaktif antikanker dari ekstrak metanol C. angulata menggunakan analisis in-silico. Identifikasi senyawa aktif C. angulata menggunakan LC-HRMS melalui pendekatan molecular docking dengan mengombinasikan program-program KNApSAcK, CLC-Pred, SEA, STRING, PubChem, UniProt, PyMOL, PyRx, and PoseView. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 12 senyawa aktif antikanker pada C. angulata, namun hanya 2 senyawa antikanker payudara (Flufenamic Acid, FA dan Hymenamide C, HC). Hasil molecular docking menunjukkan bahwa binding affinity yang kuat antara senyawa aktif Flufenamic Acid (FA) dengan protein target kanker payudara (CSF1R, PLK4, MKNK2, dan ABL1) dan senyawa Hymenamide C (HC) dengan protein target kanker payudara (GRB2 dan OXTR). Senyawa bioaktif FA menunjukkan nilai RMSD yang lebih rendah (mendekati 0Å) dengan ligan asli dari masing-masing protein target. FA memiliki potensi sebagai senyawa antikanker payudara yang lebih baik dari HC. Senyawa FA dan HC berpotensi sebagai penghambat protein target kanker payudara, namun masih memerlukan penelitian lebih lanjut terutama untuk penggunaan senyawa tersebut pada manusia.
