Abstract

The changing times require people to be creative and innovative. People are required not only as users but also as a creator of goods thing. People needs to think creative to produce something that useful and also effective and efficient. One thing that in line with the demands of effective and efficient is an open source. Open source stimulates innovation and ensures that ideas can spread rapidly to the creation of a new product. Open source also can drive innovation to ensure sustainable value for companies with different business models. Open source is one of the most inexpensive solution and the most effective in the transfer of technology and knowledge in particular for developing countries. Open source does not just offer a low cost alternative to acquire the technology but also network-based cooperation. Characteristics of the open source compatible with the concept of frugal innovation. Concept of frugal innovation itself responding to resource constraints, both financial, material or institutional and using a variety of methods that transform obstacles into advantages. Frugal innovation minimizing the use of resources in the development, production and delivery, or by utilizing new ways that can dramatically produce products and services become less expensive. The success of frugal innovation is not only determined by its low cost but also provide an alternative edge that also can be made on a large scale. In addition, although not always, explicitly frugal innovation has a social mission. Through this paper the author aims to explore open source as a driver of frugal innovation. Spirit of open source along with the concept of frugal innovation. This paper attempts to explore the role of open source as a driver of frugal innovation and to explain that the spirit of open source along with the concept of frugal innovation.

Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies like ChatGPT has made global management easier. Since 2020, AI has been widely utilized for all purposes, notably due to its ease in access for scientific production. This study aims to analyze open-ended questions and responses from web-based survey in Indonesian public research and development (R&D) institutions using topic modeling. A total of 205 data points were obtained through web-based surveys conducted among researchers in Indonesian public R&D institutions. To learn their thoughts on the use of ChatGPT (Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer), two AI language topic modeling, Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA), were employed to detect survey topic structures and show the results. Three theme groups represent the institution's research cohort. Based on generational disparities in birth year and functional position level, this study selected the seven most popular topics from three themes of researchers' opinions on ChatGPT. Researchers of certain age generations and functional position levels focused on new AI technologies, efficiency, and production gains, while others valued methodological innovation, ethics, and scientific integrity. When formulating a strategy for incorporating AI into the public R&D institution's future research agendas, it is imperative to include diverse perspectives.

Abstract

Changes in institutional structures, mandates stated in laws and regulations, growing community participation, and the involvement of government institutions in international space organizations have resulted in issues related to countries’ contribution of roles and responsibilities, as well as the strategic value of collaboration for implementing national space science. This study presents the discourse on space science activities in Indonesia. Based on the analysis results of 92 online media articles published from 2022 to 2024, various actors spoke about space science, emphasizing more collaboration and a formulary of technical regulations to handle the country’s wide area, while considering modalities that need to be strengthened and challenges that need to be addressed. Using a relationship mapping method known as discourse network analysis (DNA), in which the results were analyzed for causal-effect among them, this study has identified three gaps as the national priority needs: space security for national sovereignty, space disaster mitigation due to falling space objects, and flight safety due to space weather. This study has explained these challenges through a framework that captures the interplay of actors, policy gaps, specific sophisticated technologies, and mandates of actors.

Abstract

Abstract

Jakarta has experienced numerous significant floods since 2002, including those in 2007, 2013, and 2015, a source of concern for the residents of Jakarta. Residents of DKI Jakarta have expressed their concerns regarding the disaster on Twitter and other platforms, which offer a comprehensive account of the flood experiences of Jakarta residents, which is beneficial to stakeholders in the field of flood management. The status of an incident can be rapidly determined using Twitter data. This project investigates the Twitter responses of Jakartans to the flood disaster. The analysis of flood tweets from Jakarta residents is conducted in three phases: 2015, 2020, and 2021. Utilizing topic modeling, this initiative maps emerging topics. Topic modeling is particularly effective in the context of flood issues, as it can assist in the clustering of topics and thedissemination of specific information to the public. Seven modeling-based topic groups are used to organize twenty topics. The results of this project indicate that the majority of Jakartan flood tweets are related to "Weather Report" topics. The findings indicated that "Submerged Houses" has a substantial proportion and is anticipated to increase with each flood. The increasing number of submerged houses in Jakarta should cause concern among the local populace.
