Abstract

The purpose of this study is to validate a theoretically based blended assessment model with SDL and to show empirical validation of it. The study materials developed include a Model Book, a Students’ Book, and a Lecturer’s Book modeled on an authentic blended assessment framework for Basic Reading. A mixed-methods approach was used, and the validation process involved six expert validators. one-on-one evaluations were conducted with ten students and one lecturer who were purposively selected to be part of the study. The data were collected from validation sheets as well as semi-structured interviews. The results of statistical analysis performed on expert validation showed that the evaluation model has achieved high validity (i.e., content, construct, criteria, and face validity), producing a highly valid prototype of instruction. The findings indicate that there is no need for any further refinements,  and the model is thus ready for immediate implementation. Moreover, the intrinsic and impact validity of the authentic blended assessment model was corroborated with the support of empirical user validation (lecturer and students) feedback. This describes the inherent characteristics that include main usability elements like clarity, easy usage, logical mapping, and completeness of learning content. The impact aspect highlights the effectiveness and worthiness of using the products in real-world learning environments. The study addresses an important gap in reading assessment and presents a practical and effective solution for educators and institutions looking to leverage Basic Reading assessor skills within a Self-Directed Learning principles approach. The results can provide an important link to promote autonomous learning, develop evaluation methods, and, finally, enhance students’ independent learning ability and academic achievement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh beberapa kendala dalam pelaksanaan Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila di SMP N 6 Lembang Jaya. yaitu seperti kendala, guru dan sekolah kesulitan menentukan tema projek yang bisa membuat siswa bersemangat dalam melaksanakan projek, kurangnya pemahaman guru dalam menyusun modul, kendala dalam penyedian alat dan bahan, sulit bekerjasama lintas sektor, pesatnya arus globalisasi sehingga membawa nilai-nilai yang tidak sesuai dengan karakteristik bangsa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kegiatan Implementasi Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila Tema Kewirausahaan kelas VIII di SMP N 6 Lembang Jaya. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu teori Konstruktivisme. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan tipe deskriptif. Teknik menentukan informan secara Purposive Sampling. Adapun informan dalam penelitian ini antara lain kepala sekolah, waka kurikulum, koordinator projek kewirausahaan, tim fasilitator kewirausahaan, dan siswa. Jenis data, data primer dan sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumen. Unit analisis dalam penelitian ini adalah kelompok. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Maka hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan di SMP N 6 Lembang Jaya kabupaten Solok, menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila dalam tema kewirausahaan diawali dengan tahap perencanaan terlebih dahulu, yaitu dengan membentuk tim fasilitator, mengidentifikasi tingkat kesiapan satuan pendidikan, merancang tema, topik dan alokasi waktu P5, menyusun modul, dan merancang pelaporan hasil prosek, serta tahap terakhir dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan projek ini adalah dengan melakukan tahapan evaluasi terhadap kegiatan P5 tersebut.

Abstract

Meskipun beragam definisi tentang literasi media telah dikemukakan oleh banyak pihak, namun secara garis besar menyebutkan bahwa literasi media berhubungan dengan bagaimana khalayak dapat mengambil kontrol atas media. Literasi media merupakan skill untuk menilai makna dalam setiap jenis pesan, mengorganisasikan makna itu sehingga berguna, dan kemudian membangun pesan untuk disampaikan kepada orang lain. Intinya adalah literasi media berusaha memberikan kesadaran kritis bagi khalayak ketika berhadapan dengan media. Kesadaran kritis menjadi kata kunci bagi gerakan literasi media. Literasi media sendiri bertujuan untuk, terutama, memberikan kesadaran kritis terhadap khalayak sehingga lebih berdaya di hadapan media. Sementara produser juga mengkonstruksikan isi media. Media memengaruhi khalayak dalam level sosial dan individual. Meski demikian, khalayak memiliki kemampuan untuk meng-handle media. Kemampuan tersebut berkaitan dengan bagaimana memilih media yang tepat, mengatur penggunaan media, kemampuan untuk memobilisasi media, serta bagaimana menginterpretasikan isi media. Literasi media bergerak dalam keempat hubungan di atas.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students’ critical thinking skills in social studies learning at SMP Negeri 12 Padang. The background of the study is based on the low level of students’ critical thinking ability due to the dominance of conventional teaching methods. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects were class VIII.5 as the experimental group and class VIII.4 as the control group. The instrument used was an essay test that had been validated by subject matter experts and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 29. The N-Gain analysis indicated that the experimental class showed a higher average improvement compared to the control class, with gains of 27.55% in the experimental class and 9.81% in the control class, although both were still categorized as low. The Mann-Whitney U test was used due to the non-normal distribution of data, and the results showed a significance value of 0.017 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference in posttest results between the two groups. These findings suggest that the PBL model is more effective than conventional teaching methods in enhancing students' critical thinking skills in social studies. Therefore, the implementation of PBL is recommended as an alternative instructional strategy to strengthen students' analytical and problem-solving abilities at the junior high school level.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of concentration in students' learning in grade 10 (phase e) at MA Muhammadiyah Tamiang, Ujung Gading, West Pasaman. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the application of ice-breaking techniques on student concentration at MA Muhammadiyah Tamiang, Ujung Gading, West Pasaman.This research method was quantitative. The population in the study was all 66 grade 10 students, and the sample was 35 students from class X1, studying sociology at MA Muhammadiyah Tamiang, Ujung Gading, West Pasaman. Sampling was conducted using a total sampling technique. The instrument used for the study was a questionnaire, with a t-test used to test the hypothesis.The results showed that: There was a significant effect of the application of ice-breaking techniques on student concentration at MA Muhammadiyah Tamiang, Ujung Gading, West Pasaman. This can be seen from the results of the data analysis: t-test = 2.848 > t-table = 1.669. Therefore, it can be concluded that H1 is accepted, indicating that there is a significant effect of the application of the ice-breaking technique on the concentration of sociology learning in class X (phase e) of MA Muhammadiyah Tamiang, Ujung Gading, West Pasaman.
