Abstract

This research investigates the continuous review inventory model involving variable lead time with partial backorders, where the amount is uncertain. PT ICI Paints Indonesia is one of chemical industries which produced paint. The main problems faced by company are often occur stock out and also over stock of raw material replenishment, and the second case is raw material ordering lead time which can’t be controlled and determined its extent so the company more depend on the supplier policy. The purpose of this research is to suggest the optimal raw material inventory system alternatives synchronized with the stock out characteristics and the condition can be occurred. Besides, the backorder raw material inventory control can reduce lead time and raw material ordering cost. After the calculation, the optimal solution of inventory models can be obtained; those are with backorder condition which produced the annual inventory total cost amount of 15.069.845.628, 27 rupiahs; which mean it just effectively save inventory cost by 5, 81% for the company.

Abstract

The trend of global manufacturing era (world class manufacturing) is partnership and long term cooperation. In the automotive industry, component and part supply chain structure is closely linked, so the quality of the supplier determines the quality of the final product. Global manufacturing quality benchmarking approach is used to improve the quality of the automotive component industry from domestic suppliers (local content). The purpose of this study is to assess the supplier in accordance to a predetermined quality to be a potential partner. The study was conducted for six groups of suppliers: engine component manufacturers, steering and suspension, car accessories, electric, chassis and tires. The assessment criteria consist of price, flexibility, quality, delivery, and services. Data were collected from 20 automotive components suppliers with check lists, interviews and direct observation to the factory. Determination of the weight of the assessment is done using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. By conducting priority sequencing, the benchmarking of six groups of suppliers of automotive components and best supplier selection can be done. In addition, the benchmarking process of a supplier that can serve as a best practices process is also obtained.

Abstract

Persaingan antar pelaku bisnis semakin ketat dalam era globalisasi yang menuntut perusahan untuk dinamis dan adaptif terhadap perubahan lingkungan bisnis. Perubahan kearah strategi yang dapat diimplementasikan sesuai dengan perkembangan pasar memerlukan system kendali yang seimbang dalam perspektif  finansial, pelanggan, proses bisnis dan pertumbuhan learning and growth yaitu dalam Balanced Scorecard. Dalam perspektif learning and growth merupakan hal mendasar untuk diperhatikan sebagai kontribusi sumber daya manusia dalam implementasi strategi. Workforce Scorecard dirancang untuk keperluan sebagai sebuah alat pengukuran yang lebih mendalam untuk memastikan terpenuhinya perspektif tersebut. Terdapat empat perspektif yang digunakan sebagai indicator yaitu kesuksesan pekerja, kepemimpinan dan perilaku, kompetensi, serta pola fikir dan budaya. Penelitian aplikatif tahap pertama  analisa dan matriks SWOT untuk perancangan Balanced Scorecard.  Dari hasil perpektif learning and growth dirumuskan Workforce Scorecard dan dilakukan klasifikasi penentuan tenaga kerja di posisi “A”. Kinerja yang dihasilkan adalah 77.52%  dan harus ditingkatkan pelayanan maksimal kepada pelanggan.

In this case, the inventory models also extent (Q, R) Inventory Model Under lead Time and Ordering Cost Reduction with lead time and ordering cost can be reduced. Abstract

East Indonesia focused on Small and Medium- Industry scale businesses (UKM) as one of theway to support society economical growth. UKM Marawey from Seram Island, Ambon, Maluku is facing aproblem on maintaining and preserving the facilities that relates to the venture. Preventive product,process, and facilities maintenance identification are important to assure customer safety and satisfaction.This research focused on analyzing the damage of biodigester machine, egg incubator, gas genset,handcraft machine, and three-wheeled motorcycle. Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) researchmethodology and approach was used. The primary step is to identify UKM’s punching operation activities,followed by rating and priority numbering. Preventive measures were given based in Risk Priority Number(RPN) for decisions on each rank of maintenance that were done during the occuring troubles. Theresearch suggests preventive maintenance in 3 categories: Scheduled discard task, scheduled restorationtask, and combination of task. Maintenance cost of machine damage, land, pond, and stall are alsoincluded in the preventive maintenance category. UKM Mawawey preventive maintenance program isexpected to be an example for other UKM in East Indonesia region.Keywords : bio digester, FMEA, maintenance, small medium enterprise

Abstract

Abstrak – Persaingan antara pelaku bisnis charter flight semakin ketat dalam persaingan global. perusahaan harus  dinamis dan adaptif terhadap perubahan lingkungan bisnis. Perubahan ke arah strategi yang dapat diimplementasikan sesuai dengan perkembangan persaingan charter flight untuk pelayanan yang terbaik bagi pelanggan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan aplikatif yaitu merancang suatu sistem yang dapat diaplikasikan pada perusahaan charter flight, yang telah memiliki sistem pengelolaan kinerja dengan menggunakan Balanced Scorecard. Pada perancangan Balanced Scorecard terdapat 4 perspektif utama yaitu : financial perspective , customer perspective, internal business processes , learning and growth perspective. Balanced Scorecard tidak di desain secara spesifik untuk perusahaan jasa dan tidak bersifat prediksi. Sementara Service Scorecard memfokuskan spesifik pelayanan pada customer perspective. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh Strategy Mapping yang memuat tujuan-tujuan strategis dan indikator (Lead dan Lag) dari Service Scorecard. Terdapat 17 ukuran kinerja yang temuat di dalam 17 tujuan strategis dan 7 perspektif dari Service Scorecard yaitu : Growth, Leadearship, Acceleration, Collaboration, Innovation, Execution, Retention. Tujuan strategis yang dibuat dalam suatu Strategy Mapping dan indikator sangat berguna untuk menyusun langkah selanjutnya yang akan ditempuh oleh perusahaan.  Abstract – Competition between charter flight businesses increasingly stringent in a global competition. Companies must be dynamic and adaptive to changes in the business environment.  Changes in the direction of strategy that can be implemented in accordance with the competition  development of charter flight for the best service for customers. This research uses applicative approach to design a system that can be applied to the charter flight company, which already has a performance management system by using the Balanced Scorecard. In the Balanced Scorecard , there are four main perspectives: financial perspective, customer perspective, internal business processes, learning and growth perspective. Balanced Scorecard is not designed specifically to service companies and non-predictive. While the Service Scorecard specific focus on customer service perspective. This research has resulted a strategy map with subsequent strategic objectives and indicator (Lead and Lag) for Service Scorecard. Finally, there are 17 performance measures with subsequent 17 strategic objectives and 7 perspectives Service Scorecard: Growth, Leadearship, Acceleration, Collaboration, Innovation, Execution, Retention. Abstract

Achieving production targets is the goal of all companies, especially manufacturing companies. PT Ganding Toolsindo is an automotive component manufacturing company that aims to provide a high level of service and is committed to its clients, so achieving production targets is essential. However, it is unfortunate that there are still problems regarding the non-fulfillment of production targets. In addition, issues regarding rusty raw materials and waste also occur there. The cause of this problem is the advantages and disadvantages of raw materials because production planning and control have not been appropriately implemented. Therefore, this Community Service (PkM) aims to assist partners in solving these problems through training, production planning, and control assistance. The PkM series is carried out with a preliminary survey, material preparation, training, and mentoring. The material given in this PkM activity is about "Introduction to Production Planning and Control" and "Production Planning and Control Systems for Make to Order (MTO) Type Companies.” In addition, assistance is provided to solve problems that are the company's focus, namely making Side Tube part products by making dual kanban for the parts. Based on the evaluation results, this PkM activity has been carried out well and received a positive response from PkM partners, namely PT. Ganding Toolsindo.
