Abstract

The research titled "Narrative Analysis Using Jungian Personality Psychology Perspective with Focus on the Character Mrs. Martopo in the Rough People Manuscript by Anton Chekhov aims to analyze gender issues in female characters in the manuscript using Carl Gustav Jung's perspective on personality psychology. This study applies narrative analysis using qualitative method with data collection techniques from the manuscript, translations, and relevant sources. Gender issues on Mrs. Martopo include her husband's infidelity, gender roles, and social adaptation. This narrative analysis provides new insights into the relationship between literature, personality psychology, and Jungian Theory, depicting how psychological understanding can provide interpretive depth to characters in literary works. This research can serve as a foundation for further research in the fields of theater, literature, psychology, and gender studies.

Abstract

The article entitled Analysis of the Role of "Tokoh Nenek" in the Kereta Kencana Performance by Eugene Ionesco Saduran Ws Rendra Director Efyuhardi uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive analysis approach, explaining and describing the analysis of the character "Nenek" in the Kereta Kencana show. The events of the performance in the Golden Train, more satirize the emptiness of polite conversation, mechanical pleasantries that are conveyed casually. In the Kereta Kencana show there are several characters including: Tokoh Kakek, tokoh Nenek, as well as imaginary figures presented with flowers (guest characters and child characters). This study aims to analyze the "Tokoh Nenek". The analysis process is divided into three parts of the analysis, namely; a) characterizations based on rational, b) characterizations based on orthology, c) based on structural.AbstrakArtikel berjudul Analisis Pemeranan “Tokoh Nenek” Dalam Pertunjukan Kereta Kencana Karya Eugene Ionesco Saduran Ws Rendra Sutradara Efyuhardi menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif analisis, menjelaskan serta menjabarkan anilisis tokoh “Nenek” dalam pertunjukan Kereta Kencana. Secara fisik dan kejiwaan tokoh “Nenek” menarik untuk dianalisis. Peristiwa pertunjukan  dalam Kereta Kencana, lebih menyindir kehampaan percakapan yang sopan, percakapan basa-basi mekanis yang disampaikan sambil lalu saja. Dalam pertunjukan Kereta Kencana terdapat beberapa tokoh diantaranya: tokoh Kakek, tokoh Nenek, serta tokoh-tokoh imajinasi yang dihadirkan dengan bunga-bunga (tokoh tamu-tamu dan tokoh anak). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa “tokoh Nenek”. Proses Analisa di bagi menjadi tiga bagian analisis, yaitu ;a) penokohan berdasarkan rasional, b) penokohan berdasarkan ortologis, c)  berdasarkan struktural.

Abstract

The study is based on the performance of the play Antigone by Sophocles. The aim is to analyze the way the cast uses body language, facial expressions, and voice intonation to convey messages and emotions of their characters. This research uses qualitative methods with text analysis, performance observation, and interviews. The study explains the various aspects of theatrical communication used in the cast of Antigone, providing an in-depth understanding of how communication can enrich the understanding of characters and stories in theatrical performances. The findings of this study are expected to deepen the understanding of theater arts practitioners and theater researchers, helping them develop more memorable interpretations and executions of characters in performing arts works. Furthermore, this research has the potential to enrich the repertoire of classical Greek literature and broaden the understanding of communication in modern performing arts.

Abstract

Tulisan berjudul PERTUNJUKAN SENI BENJANG ANAK SEBAGAI EDUKASI MEMBANGUN KARAKTER ANAK-ANAK DESA CIPOREAT menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan penelitian mengamati, mengumpulkan informasi, dan menyajikan data penelitian. beberapa tahapannya adalah menentukan objek (Populasi dan Sampel), teknik pengumpulan data (Studi Pustaka, wawancara, dokumentasi), analisis data. Pertunjukan seni benjang anak sangat menarik untuk diteliti. Sebab, pertunjukan benjang dimainkan oleh orang dewasa pada umumnya, berbeda dengan benjang anak yang seluruh pemainnya adalah anak-anak. Pertunjukan seni benjang anak juga di jadikan sebagai sarana edukasi dalam membentuk karakter anak-anak desa Ciporeat. Dua fenomena ini dapat dijadikan landasan dasar mengapa pertunjukan seni benjang anak menjadi permasalahan yang urgensi untuk di teliti saat ini. Tulisan ini bertujuan menganalisis bentuk pertunjukan seni benjang anak dan bagaimana seni benjang sebagai sarana edukasi yang membangun karakter anak-anak yang tergabung dalam kelompok putra budaya. Proses membangun karakter bukan hanya terdapat di dalam pertunjukan saja tetapi penerepan-penerapan nilai moral, agama, serta budaya juga dilakukan ketika proses latihan benjang.

Abstract

The Research on Preserving Cultural Heritage through Oral Tradition is of utmost importance, as the research represents an effort to maintain the cultural identity of the Kumun Debai District in the City of Sungai Penuh. The focus of the research is the role of folklore in preserving the oral tradition in the Kumun Debai District, through an in-depth understanding of proverbs, folktales, traditional songs, and other oral practices. The research aims to document, analyze, and comprehend the role of folklore in preserving the cultural heritage through oral tradition in the Kumun Debai District. This will help maintain the local cultural identity, prevent the loss of oral traditions, and ensure the preservation of local cultural values, which will be passed on to future generations. The study employs the theory of folklore in the context of preserving cultural heritage through oral tradition. The theory focuses on the in-depth understanding of proverbs, folktales, traditional songs, and other oral practices as an integral part of the cultural identity of a community. The use of the "Gerald C. Miller" theory emphasizes the importance of understanding and preserving oral traditions as an inseparable part of a community's cultural identity. Through this approach, the primary objective of the research is to explore the meaning, values, and functions of the oral heritage within the context of the community's life, and how this heritage can be safeguarded to remain relevant in the modern era.

Abstract

The research entitled Application Of Dramatic Elements In Theatre Performances In The 2023 Sunda Language Drama Festival uses qualitative research methods: observation, interviews, documentation, and data analysis. This research discusses how Sunda plays a role in building the dramatic elements of theater performances. The issue of the diminishing existence of regional languages is one of the factors in the formation of the Sunda Language Drama Festival. The Sunda Language Drama Festival does not focus on the application of Sunda dialectics but on the form of performance, so that Sunda only becomes a language in communication. these conditions are certainly not effective if the purpose of the Sunda Language Drama Festival is an effort to maintain Sunda. The phenomenon of shifting language use and forms of regional language preservation is an urgency to study at this time, one example is the Sunda Language Drama Festival. This paper aims to analyze the effect of Sunda dialogue on the dramatic structure of the performance.

Abstract

Introduction: This study explores the utilization of the emotional openness model through the inclusion stage as an innovative therapeutic approach to enhance emotional expression in children with disabilities. This therapeutic approach is designed to provide a platform for emotional expression and social interaction through the performance “I Love the Sea.” Methods: include participatory observation, interviews, and analysis to assess the impact of the stage therapy program on the emotional openness of the children. Results: indicate significant improvements in positive emotional expression, enhanced interpersonal communication skills, and increased self-confidence among the participants. The study demonstrates that the inclusion stage approach serves as a therapeutic medium, creating a space for children with disabilities to express themselves creatively and foster more open social relationships. Conclusion: the implementation of the emotional openness model through the inclusion stage offers an innovative and inclusive solution to strengthen the emotional aspects of children with disabilities, supporting active interaction and enhancing their social integration.

Abstract

Kesenian tradisional Indang Solok merupakan warisan budaya yang berasal dari Kanagarian Jawi-Jawi, Kabupaten Solok, Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Kesenian ini memiliki karakteristik unik dalam aspek musikal, seperti pola ritme, melodi, dan teknik vokal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi dan mendeskripsikan unsur-unsur notasi, menganalisis struktur dan karakteristik notasi, serta mengkaji makna dan nilai-nilai budaya yang terkandung dalam notasi kesenian Indang Solok. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnomusikologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa notasi kesenian Indang Solok memiliki ciri khas yang unik, seperti pola ritme yang kompleks, melodi berdasarkan tangga nada pentatonik, serta teknik vokal yang khas. Notasi Indang Solok juga mengandung makna dan nilai-nilai budaya Minangkabau, seperti filosofi alam takambang jadi guru, semangat kebersamaan, serta penghormatan terhadap alam dan leluhur. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah dokumentasi notasi kesenian Indang Solok dapat menjadi referensi berharga bagi upaya pelestarian dan pengembangan kesenian ini di masa mendatang. Temuan penelitian juga memberikan kontribusi bagi pengayaan kajian tentang kesenian tradisional Sumatera Barat.

Abstract

Penelitian Representasi Identitas Kolektif melalui Kesenian Indang Solok: Kajian Dramaturgi di Jawi-Jawi, Sumatra Barat bertujuan untuk melakukan identifikasi dan mendeskripsikan latar belakang historis serta perkembangan kesenian Indang di Kanagarian Jawi-Jawi. Selain itu, penelitian ini mengkaji fungsi dan makna kesenian Indang dalam kehidupan masyarakat serta menganalisis struktur pertunjukan yang membentuk kesenian tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara tekstual lagu Indang Solok berkaitan dengan teks pantun dan musik vokal, berisi tentang curahan perasaan. Analisis terhadap kesenian Indang Solok menunjukkan karakteristik yang kuat dan beragam, mencakup tema-tema yang mencerminkan propaganda pembangunan pemerintah, olahraga, keindahan alam, budaya Minangkabau, adat istiadat, serta pesan-pesan religius dalam konteks Islam. Teks lagu Indang Solok mengandung nilainilai kearifan lokal yang mendalam yang mencerminkan identitas budaya masyarakat Minangkabau, khususnya di Kabupaten Solok. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah etnomusikologi dengan pendekatan kualitatif, yang berfokus pada pendalaman kualitas data dari narasumber melalui deskriptif-analitis.

Abstract

The Study of Sintren in Gender Expressivity: The Role of Women in Dance Traditions analyzes the role of Cirebonese women in expressing and preserving the art of Sintren. This research aims to further analyze and examine how women contribute to the arts and culture of Cirebon. A qualitative, empirical approach was employed, involving diverse documentation of events, recordings of speech, words, and gestures of the subjects, specific behaviors, written documents, and various visual images related to the social phenomenon. The study employs five stages of qualitative research methods, namely: (1) participant observation, (2) conversation analysis, (3) discourse analysis, (4) content analysis, and (5) ethnographic data collection. The findings reveal that, in a broader social context, the role of women in Sintren dance reflects societal changes. Although Sintren remains deeply rooted in tradition, women involved in its practice have begun exploring new aspects, such as innovations in movement and interpretation. These changes demonstrate that women are not merely passive participants in tradition but actively contribute to enriching and developing the performing arts. This creates a space for dialogue between tradition and modernity, providing women with opportunities to express their identities in a broader context. The study concludes that Sintren is an art form closely linked to the mystical and cultural practices of the Cirebon community. However, in the modern era, Sintren is increasingly marginalized amidst the advancements of the times. This is evident in the limited studies on Sintren, the scarcity of its documentation, and its performances being limited to specific groups. Such conditions highlight the need for greater efforts in preserving and revitalizing this traditional art form.
