Abstract

PT Shoes Bata Tbk is a company engaged in the manufacture of leather shoes, canvas shoes, casual and sports shoes, injection/slop sandals and industrial footwear safety mats. Financial performance is a description of the financial condition of a company which is analyzed using financial analysis tools, usually the measure used is the ratio. Research conducted by the author to analyze the financial performance of PT Shoes Bata Tbk based on profitability ratios and activity ratios. The profitability ratio can be measured by Gross Profit Margin, Net Profit Margin, and Return on Investment. Where Gross Profit Margin and Net Profit Margin are ratios that measure the company's ability to earn profits on sales, Return on Investment is a ratio that measures the company's ability to use all assets owned to generate profits after tax. The activity ratio can be measured by Receivable Turnover, which is a ratio that measures the company's ability to quickly manage the level of accounts receivable turnover. Inventory Turnover is a ratio that shows how quickly inventory turns over in sales activities. And Total Asset Turnover is a ratio that measures a company's ability to create sales using all the assets it owns. The aim of this research is to find out and analyze the financial performance of PT SEPATU BATA Tbk during 2016-2021 based on the two ratios. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach method. The data source used is secondary data in the form of profit/loss financial report data and balance sheet reports. The results of this research indicate that the financial performance of PT Shoes Bata Tbk for the 2016-2021 period based on GPM is considered very good because the company was able to reduce the cost of goods sold, resulting in high sales and high gross profit. NPM is considered not good because the net profit generated is less with quite high sales. ROI is considered very poor because the high total assets are not commensurate with the net profit generated. RT is considered very good because it increases every year. IT is considered very poor due to the decrease in cost of goods sold and increase in average inventory each year. TAT is considered quite good because the company is able to manage its assets well. Financial performance as measured by the profitability ratio and activity ratio can be said to be less efficient, because the components of the profitability ratio and activity ratio are still low and do not reach good company standards.

Abstract

This study examines the use of technology as a development strategy for Islamic Rural Banks (BPRS) in North Sumatra in the context of the digital era. Employing a qualitative approach, it explores the adoption of digital tools—including mobile banking, management information systems, and digital payment platforms—by six BPRS operating in the region. The findings reveal that while several BPRS have initiated digital transformation through the implementation of mobile banking applications, digital risk management systems, and integration with Islamic fintech, the extent of adoption varies significantly, largely influenced by each bank’s financial capacity and strategic orientation. Other institutions remain in the early stages of digital development. Despite these initial efforts, major challenges persist, including inadequate technological infrastructure, limited capital, and a shortage of skilled human resources. Furthermore, collaboration with fintech companies and the application of digital marketing strategies remain underutilized. This study underscores the need to strengthen technological infrastructure, enhance capital capacity, and invest in human resource development to improve the competitiveness of BPRS in an increasingly competitive Islamic finance landscape. The findings offer practical insights for BPRS management in formulating technology-driven development strategies and promoting financial literacy within North Sumatra's communities.

Abstract

Indonesia is a Muslim-majority country with a large market potential and a Muslim population of 85 percent. However, the number of Sharia fintech companies is still far behind compared to conventional fintech. The government in Indonesia is focusing on the halal economic and financial industry, and the Sharia P2P lending business model is being explored to increase the sustainable growth of MSME financing in the country. This research, qualitative and quantitative, uses the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method to transform primary data from in-depth interviews with experts and practitioners. According to the findings, a Sharia P2P lending business model based on the fintech ecosystem can increase long-term MSME financing by combining regulatory factors, community-based financing products, and the major ecosystem network. A business model that complies with Sharia principles and considers the needs of MSMEs is crucial for ensuring sustainability in financing. It entails developing mechanisms that increase access to MSMEs while adhering to Sharia principles, such as sustainable community-based financing products and Sharia-compliant risk adjustments.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the role of law in encouraging innovation in village financial management. Through a qualitative approach, this study collected data through interviews, observations, and documentation studies involving various stakeholders, including village officials, communities, and law enforcement. This method allows researchers to understand in depth the dynamics that occur in village financial management as well as the challenges and opportunities faced. The results of the study show that clear and firm regulations are a key factor in encouraging innovation. The law provides a framework that facilitates transparency and accountability in the management of village funds. In addition, regulations requiring community participation in the planning and supervision process further strengthen the relationship between village officials and the community, creating a greater sense of ownership over financial management. This study also found that the application of information technology in village financial management has resulted in increased efficiency and accuracy. The design of information systems that are transparent and easily accessible to the public contributes to better supervision. In addition, training and capacity building of village officials are critical in ensuring they have the necessary skills to manage finances effectively. This research confirms that the law not only functions as a regulatory tool, but also as a driver of innovation in village financial management. By strengthening cooperation between the government, communities, and law enforcement, villages can better manage their resources, thereby improving the overall well-being of the community.
