Abstract

Mathematics is an important foundation in human intellectual development and daily life, yet many students struggle to understand its abstract concepts. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of Khan Academy-based hybrid learning in improving students’ understanding and engagement in SIKL. The research subjects were 9 students in grades 3-5 (aged 9-14 years). The method used was mixed, with quantitative data through pre-test and post-test on basic mathematical concepts on Geometry and fraction, analyzed using paired t test, as well as qualitative data from questionnaires and content analysis. The study was conducted over 28 days with a hybrid approach combining online learning with Khan Academy and offline guiding by tutor assistance. Statistical analysis using the paired t test showed a significant increase between pre-test and post-test scores (p = 0.0074), with an average difference of 17.33. This finding indicates an increase in students' understanding of basic math concepts. Qualitative analysis showed that 88.89% of students found hybrid learning interesting, 77.78% found the material easier to understand, and 33.33% appreciated the combination of online and offline learning. However, students also suggested improvements in video quality (44.44%) and learning duration (33.33%) This study concluded that the Khan Academy-based hybrid approach is effective in improving students' mathematical understanding. However, the success of this approach still requires the role of tutors in explaining concepts that are difficult to understand. With improvements in video quality and lesson duration settings, this approach has the potential to be applied more widely.

Abstract

This research aims to foster awareness of clean water among students through the Zero Waste Water Day Program. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive with a One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The research subjects are the 25 students of class VB at SDN Kalongan 02. The data collection technique used pretest and posttest questionnaires. This program uses a contextual and participatory approach, thereby directly involving the students. The implementation of the Zero Waste Water Day Program received a positive response from the students; they showed high curiosity, enthusiasm, and full spirit. Based on research data, students who have participated in the Zero Waste Water Day Program have shown an increase in awareness of clean water, and they are increasingly understanding the importance of clean water for daily needs. The N-Gain test result of 0.7178 indicates an increase in the high category. Thus, the research results indicate that the Zero Waste Water Day Program is effective in fostering awareness of clean water among students

Abstract

This study was motivated by the observation that fourth-grade students exhibited relatively low learning outcomes, which were caused by students still experiencing difficulties in understanding the abstract concepts of solid geometry. Furthermore, students tended to perceive mathematics as a difficult subject, and there was a lack of motivation in the context of mathematics learning. The primary purpose of this research was to determine whether the implementation of pop-up book media has a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes in solid geometry. This study employed a quantitative research approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique applied was saturated sampling, in which the entire population of 43 students was selected as the sample. The researcher employed a multiple-choice test comprising 25 items, which had been previously assessed for validity and reliability. Data analysis techniques included tests for normality, homogeneity, correlation, and hypothesis testing using IBM SPSS Statistics 27 and Microsoft Excel 2019. The findings of the analysis reveal that implementing pop-up book media in teaching three-dimensional shapes to fourth-grade students during the 2024/2025 academic year significantly enhances their learning outcomes. This conclusion is further substantiated by the results of the t-tes, which show a biserial correlation coefficient of r_b= 0,7895 and a calculated t_value of 8.2372, which exceeds the t_table value of of 2.021 (8.2372 > 2.021). Therefore, It can be inferred that the implementation of pop-up book media has a significant effect on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in studying three-dimensional shapes at SD N Wiru 03, Bringin District, Semarang Regency.
