Abstract

The instrument is said to be valid if the instrument can measure what is to be measured. Type of construct validity using the method confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with the help of software SPSS. The results of this study say that 15 instrument items consist of critical thinking, motivation, and learning achievement variables, after confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) it can be seen that the variables are grouped into 3 factors. Members of factor 1 are pb1, pb2, pb3, pb4, and pb5. Then those included in the dimension factor 2 are mt1, mt 2, mt 3, mt 4, and mt 5. Those included in factor 3 are bk1, bk2, bk3, bk4, and bk 5. So it can be concluded that all items are grouped and have a value loading factor > 0.5 thus all variables are declared valid.

Abstract

Background: Comparison is a complex mathematical concept that often leads to misconceptions among students. This study is focused on evaluating the understanding of comparative material among PGSD students at Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta.Aim: The main objective of this study is to assess the level of understanding of comparative material concepts, including mathematical comparison, comparative mathematical understanding, the ratio of turning around, and mathematical understanding of scale, among the students.Method: A survey method was employed for this research. The study involved 46 PGSD students at Sanata Dharma University who participated through Quizizz and Google Drive. The instrument consisted of 10 conceptual questions and 5 discussion questions, followed by reinforcement material to enhance understanding. Participants were instructed to complete questions via https://join.quizizz.com, and the completed steps were submitted through Google Drive.Result: The analysis revealed that 1) the mathematical understanding of the concept of comparison was at 83%; 2) comparative mathematical understanding stood at 68.67%; 3) the mathematical understanding of the ratio of turning around was 73.2%; and 4) the mathematical understanding of scale was at 83%.Conclusion: The study indicates that the understanding of mathematical concepts related to comparative material among PGSD students at Sanata Dharma University is in the high category. These findings could serve as a foundation for further instructional design aimed at bolstering comparative concept understanding.

Abstract

This research explores how Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) has been applied within the Indonesian context. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, the study involves identifying, examining, critically evaluating, and interpreting scholarly articles from multiple perspectives. The data set comprises 15 peer-reviewed international publications from the Scopus database through the Publish or Perish tool, covering 2005 to 2022. These articles originate from various countries, including Indonesia, the Netherlands, Vietnam, Turkey, Greece, Norway, the United States, and Italy. The study examines the application of RME across different nations, focusing on Indonesia, and identifies the key elements that facilitate its implementation. Findings indicate that the integration of RME in Indonesia contributes to improving students’ conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the effects of differentiated instruction on primary students’ mathematics achievement in the Indonesian context by comparing learning outcomes between classes taught with differentiated instruction and those taught with conventional methods.Method: This quantitative study employed a quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control group design with two intact Grade 4 classes from a primary school in Indonesia. The experimental class received differentiated instruction based on students’ readiness, interests, and learning profiles, while the control class received conventional teaching. Data were collected using a validated mathematics achievement test with acceptable reliability. Assumptions were checked, and independent-samples t tests compared posttest achievement between groups.Findings: Students taught with differentiated instruction obtained significantly higher posttest scores than those in the control class, indicating a positive effect on mathematics achievement.Significance: The study provides empirical evidence that differentiated instruction can improve primary mathematics achievement in Indonesian classrooms. The findings offer practical guidance for teachers and inform school leaders and policymakers seeking strategies to enhance learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the steps of module development and the level of mathematics module fourth grade with realistic mathematics education learning approach quality. This research includes Research and Development (RnD) with the ADDIE development model. The object and subject in this research is the understanding of grade IV faction material in SD Negeri 2 Riau Silip. The instruments used are speech guidelines, expert assessments, and teacher responses, and student responses. The data analysis technique used qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data was analyzed from the results of testing the quality and validity of the module. The results of the research contain development steps, namely analysis stages, resistance to pressure, and resistance to development. The results of the assessments of media experts, material experts, learning experts and language experts obtained the following values of 85.3, 90.7, 80, and 80. While the results of the responses of fourth grade teachers and students were 100 and 92.8, the average assessment and expert validation test and the response of class IV teachers and students was 88.13 with the "Very Good" category. Based on the results of the assessments from the experts, the fourth grade teacher's response, and the student's response it was stated that the fourth grade mathematics modui fraction material with a realistic mathematical education learning approach was included in the "Very Good" category so that it was suitable for use in the classroom learning process.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary schools is one of the lessons developed in the student environment. Students in class III usually have difficulty in understanding the concept of division. The purpose of this research is to find out whether there is an influence on the application of the problem-based learning (PBL) model assisted by TPACK significantly affected the mathematics learning outcomes of division material in class III students at SD Muhammadiyah Pajangan 2. This research is quantitave with experimental research. The design of this research is quasi-experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The data collected by pre-test and post-test. This research uses 2 classes such as control class and experimental class. The validation results in this study used product moment. The validation results is , so 10 questions of pre-test and post-test are valid. The experimental class that was given treatment using the PBL model showed significant results when viewed from the standards on the subject 57.9, this is classified as quite effective. The control class itself which was given treatment using the conventional learning model showed poor results, seen from the gain score of 28.7. Problem-based learning (PBL) assisted by TPACK can be concluded to be applicable in the learning process of third-grade division mathematics. Thus, the contribution of this research can assist teachers in implementing a learning model that supports students' understanding of division material.
