Abstract

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a considerable leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, is the most common primary liver cancer with poor prognosis and outcome. Many advances in prevention, screening, and new technologies in diagnostics and therapy have been achieved, but its incidence and mortality remain increasing. Co-infection of another viral disease in HCC patients with pregnancy might exacerbate the condition and double the mortality rate. The aim of this case report was to describe the co-infection of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in an HCC patient during pregnancy. A 26-year-old woman with 16–17weeks of gestation was admitted to Dr. Zainoel Abidin Hospital, Banda Aceh, Indonesia with shortness of breath. The patient also reported that the abdomen expanded rapidly in the last three weeks, followed by severe pain and collateral vein appearance. Laboratory findings revealed anemia, leukocytosis, HBsAg reactive, hypoalbuminemia, hyperbilirubinemia, elevated liver enzymes, increased alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), and cancer antigen 125 (CA-125). Ultrasonography indicated gestation with a single fetus, an enlarged liver with a 9.9 x 9.4 cm nodule, and massive ascites. The patient was also RT-PCR-confirmed COVID-19. On day 8 of hospitalization, the patient suddenly reported severe abdominal pain. Ultrasonography revealed fetal distress immediately followed by fetal death. Adequate management of cancer pain, continuous evacuation of ascites, and other supportive care could not save the patient who died on the day 17 of hospitalization. In this case, we found no proof that the patient experienced cirrhosis prior to HCC. Pregnancy through hormonal alteration is thought to be the aggravating factor that accelerates the progression of pre-existing liver disease into carcinoma and infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) worsened the outcome in this patient.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is well-known as an ancient disease that remains a global challenge until this era. The main goals of the treatment are to eradicate the colonization of acid-resistant basil and to prevent the occurrence of drug resistance. However, the accomplishment of this multi-drugs therapy is not always achieved due to several obstacles, one of is patient adherence to the treatment. Patient adherence is a considerable determinator that influenced by a number factors including the adverse drug reaction (ADR) which appeared to the patients. This study aimed to examine the correlation between adverse drug reaction and patients’ adherence to the anti-tuberculosis category 1 regimen during the intensive phase. This observational analytic study used cross sectional method and involved 35 subjects. Drug adherence level was measured using Medication Adherence Scale-8 (MMAS-8) questionnaire, the characteristics of ADR were collected using check list sheet of ADR, and the probability of ADR was analyzed using Naranjo Algorithm. The results showed that the majority of patients in this study were adherence to anti tuberculosis drugs (62,8%) and experienced ADR (74,3%). Bivariate analysis using chi-square statistical test showed there was significant correlation between adverse drug reaction and adherence to anti-tuberculosis drugs during the intensive phase treatment (P-value = 0,02288).

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of education level and compensation on work productivity of employees of the Padang City Market Service Office. The independent variables used are education level (X1) and compensation (X2). The dependent variable is employee work productivity (Y). The type of research methodology used is the causative method. The data used are primary and secondary data. Primary data was obtained by interviewing a sample of 97 Padang City Market Service employees. The analysis tool used is Multiple Linear Regression with the SPSS version 19.0 program. The results of the study show that the first hypothesis (H1) can be accepted. It can be seen that the tcount value for this variable is 3.137. Meanwhile the value in the 5% distribution table is 2.376. Then tcount (3.137) > ttable (2.376). This means that the education level variable (X1) has a positive influence. This is also reinforced by the significance value (0.004 <0.050) meaning that the education level variable (X1) has a positive and significant effect on the work productivity of Padang City Market Service employees. Whereas the second hypothesis (H2) is also accepted, seen in the tcount value for this variable of 5.020. Meanwhile the value in the 5% distribution table is 2.376. Then tcount (5.020) > ttable (2.376). This means that the compensation variable (X2) has a positive influence. This is also reinforced by the significance value (0.000 <0.050) meaning that the compensation variable (X2) has a positive and significant effect on the work productivity of Padang City Market Service employees. For the third hypothesis (H3) it is also accepted that Fcount is 15.535, while the results of Ftable in the distribution table with an error rate of 5% are 3.44. This means Fcount > Ftable (15.535 > 3.44). These calculations show that the variable level of education (X1) and compensation (X2) together have a positive and significant influence on employee productivity variables (Y).

Abstract

This study examines the influence of human capital quality on marketing performance from a strategic management perspective. In an increasingly competitive business environment, organizations are required to leverage internal strategic resources to achieve superior marketing outcomes. Human capital quality, reflected in employees’ knowledge, skills, experience, and capabilities, is considered a critical intangible asset that supports effective marketing strategy implementation. This research employs a quantitative explanatory approach using a survey method. Data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to employees and managers involved in marketing and strategic functions within business organizations. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis to test the proposed relationship between human capital quality and marketing performance. The results indicate that human capital quality has a positive and statistically significant effect on marketing performance, demonstrating that organizations with higher-quality human resources tend to achieve better marketing outcomes, including sales growth, customer acquisition, and market competitiveness. These findings confirm that marketing performance is not only shaped by external market conditions but is also strongly influenced by internal strategic resources. The study concludes that human capital quality plays a crucial role in enhancing marketing performance and should be integrated into organizational strategic and marketing planning. The results provide valuable insights for managers in aligning human resource development with marketing objectives to achieve sustainable competitive advantage.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of customer trust as a mediating variable in the relationship between digital marketing strategies and consumer behavior. As digital marketing evolves, companies are required not only to create engaging content but also to build strong trust to influence purchase intention, loyalty, and customer engagement. This research employs a systematic literature review (SLR) following PRISMA guidelines, selecting 52 empirical articles from reputable international databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, EBSCOhost, and ScienceDirect, published between 2015 and 2026. The analysis involved thematic and descriptive synthesis to assess the strength of digital marketing’s impact on customer trust and consumer behavior outcomes. The results indicate that digital marketing has a significant positive effect on customer trust formation (β=0.652; p<0.001). Customer trust functions as a partial mediator that strengthens the impact of digital marketing on purchase intention, loyalty, and engagement. The direct effect of digital marketing on consumer behavior is weaker when trust is not optimally established. These findings emphasize that effective digital marketing strategies must focus on transparency, security, credibility, and personalization to maximize consumer behavior outcomes. Practically, this study provides important implications for companies and digital marketing practitioners, highlighting that successful campaigns rely not only on content and visibility but also on the ability to build customer trust. The study also opens avenues for future research to examine more specific trust dimensions, including platform integrity, information quality, and social proof, within increasingly complex digital marketing contexts.
