Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning design and evaluate the effectiveness of implementing a personalized learning approach in video editing education to enhance students' 21st-century digital competencies. The research focused on providing flexibility in the choice of video editing software to accommodate diverse hardware capabilities, ensuring inclusive participation regardless of students’ device limitations. A sample of 20 students from the Content Creator extracurricular program at Al Ulum Medan Junior High School was selected based on specific criteria, particularly the inability to install Adobe Premiere Pro due to hardware constraints. Data collection methods included pre-test and post-test assessments, surveys, and skills tests. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired t-tests to assess improvement in video editing skills after allowing students to use software suited to their devices. The findings indicated a significant improvement, with a 40% increase in mean scores from pre-test to post-test. The personalized approach not only enhanced students' technical skills but also improved motivation and engagement. The study concludes that personalized learning, through adaptive software selection, is effective in overcoming technical barriers and significantly enhances video editing competencies among junior high school students.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the crucial role of visionary leadership in transforming educational practices within Islamic educational institutions. The research employed a qualitative method, incorporating a literature review and secondary data analysis, which began with a review of relevant journals on leadership in Islamic education. The author collected and analyzed several articles related to visionary leadership, educational governance, and the challenges faced by Islamic educational institutions in the era of globalization. The findings indicate that visionary leadership plays a central role in integrating traditional Islamic values with modern innovations, significantly enhancing educational quality, fostering community engagement, and ensuring the sustainability of Islamic educational institutions. This leadership also supports effective change management, the application of technological innovations, and the development of leadership models based on ethical principles and Islamic teachings. Furthermore, the internal and external challenges faced by leaders require adaptability, innovation, and strategic resource management to maintain the relevance of institutions in an increasingly interconnected world. This study implies that the effective implementation of visionary leadership, supported by key factors such as institutional image-building, relevant curriculum development, and strategic management practices, is essential for improving the effectiveness and sustainability of Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the internalization of polite behavior through animated video learning resources at SMKN 2 Ponorogo. It investigates the impact of these media on shaping students' polite behavior. Utilizing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and presented descriptively with narrative texts from illustrators. The findings reveal that the internalization of polite behavior via animated videos occurs in three phases: 1) value change, where students grasp the learning material; 2) value transaction, where teachers demonstrate concepts through videos; and 3) value instillation, which influences both students and their personalities. The effects noted include students' understanding of politeness, observable improvements in their behavior at home and school, and the application of polite behavior in daily life. This encompasses speaking respectfully, honoring teachers and parents, dressing appropriately, and practicing the 3S (smile, greet, salute), along with religious practices like the Dhuha prayer and reciting Surah Yasin and Surah Ar-Rahman. A significant contribution of this study is its focus on the SMKN level, contrasting with previous research conducted at the SDN level, highlighting notable changes in student habits

Abstract

This study examines the effects of AI-based learning tools on Arabic language learning among Arabic students, with student engagement and educational content quality as mediators. This study used a quantitative causal-explanatory design and administered an online questionnaire to students, teachers, and education professionals (N=960). Using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze the data, there was a large direct positive effect of AI tools on proficiency and an even stronger positive mediating effect of student engagement. Unexpectedly, perceptions of educational content quality were strongly negatively associated with proficiency, suggesting that a mismatch between content design and the learner’s sociocultural context may impede learning even when the pedagogical design is sound. The results highlight that the success of AI in language learning is not merely a function of the state of the technology, but, more importantly, a function of pedagogically sound content and its continued capacity to promote profound engagement. This research enhances the science of technology-enhanced learning by proposing a refined model for English language education in Egypt and by providing implementation-oriented suggestions for furthering practice, calling for a shift from technocentric implementation to learner-centric orchestration of AI in Arabic language education.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital mental health services has increased the use of cybercounseling, while simultaneously introducing challenges in interpreting nonverbal cues, particularly facial expressions, within technology-mediated interactions. This study aims to systematically examine the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in facial expression detection as a support feature in cybercounseling. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted following PRISMA guidelines, drawing from multiple indexed academic databases. The included studies covered AI-based facial expression recognition, micro-expression analysis, depression detection, and relevant multimodal approaches. The findings indicate that deep learning–based models are capable of identifying facial patterns associated with emotional and psychological conditions, including depression, with high accuracy in controlled datasets. Micro-expression analysis further enables the detection of subtle and concealed affective signals that are difficult to observe through human perception alone. However, the results also demonstrate that facial expressions cannot be treated as direct representations of psychological states, as their interpretation is influenced by expression intensity, contextual factors, and individual variability. In addition, multimodal approaches integrating facial, vocal, and physiological signals provide more comprehensive and reliable insights compared to unimodal systems. These findings suggest that AI-based facial expression detection holds potential as a supportive tool in cybercounseling, particularly for enhancing affective observation and identifying subtle emotional cues. Nevertheless, its use should remain complementary to professional judgment rather than as a standalone diagnostic mechanism. Current limitations include the dominance of dataset-driven studies, limited application in real counseling contexts, and insufficient attention to ethical considerations.

Abstract

Global digital transformation compels Islamic schools to harmonize religious values with modern competencies, necessitating effective digital Leadership and the management of ICT resources. This study aims to test an integrative model analyzing the direct and indirect effects of technology-driven Leadership and ICT resource management on teacher professionalism and student digital literacy within Islamic educational settings. A quantitative cross-sectional survey method was employed, involving 377 teachers from Islamic secondary schools in Indonesia. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that digital leadership exerts a powerful direct influence on both ICT resource management (β ≈ 0.99) and teacher professionalism (β ≈ 0.99). Teacher professionalism emerged as a key mediator and a stronger predictor of students’ digital literacy than mere ICT resource availability. The study concludes that the efficacy of digital leadership is enhanced by integrating Islamic values and recommends strengthening value-based leadership capacity and sustaining teacher professional development to achieve holistic educational excellence.
