Abstract

AbstractLow levels of legal literacy and legal awareness among students may increase their vulnerability to bullying, juvenile delinquency, social media misuse, narcotics abuse, online gambling, and other at-risk behaviors. This community service article aims to describe the implementation of the Jaksa Masuk Sekolah (Prosecutor Goes to School, JMS) program by the Mandailing Natal District Prosecutor’s Office as an initiative to strengthen legal awareness in educational settings. The program was carried out using a descriptive documentary approach through the stages of planning, coordination, legal outreach, discussion, and administrative evaluation. Data were obtained from activity reports, presentation materials, minutes of meetings, photographic documentation, and brief interviews with the implementation team. The JMS program was conducted at eleven educational institutions in Panyabungan Subdistrict, comprising junior high schools, senior high schools/madrasahs, vocational schools, and a university. The outreach materials covered bullying, juvenile delinquency, the dangers of narcotics, ethics in social media use, online gambling, illegal mining, and issues related to medical malpractice and abortion within a health-law context. The results show that the JMS program was implemented in a systematic, communicative, and responsive manner, although several administrative, technical, and field scheduling constraints were encountered. The program also produced operational documentation that may serve as a reference for the development of similar legal outreach models at the local level. Keywords: young generation; prosecutors in schools; legal literacy; legal education.

Abstract

Sexual violence in Islamic boarding schools is a serious problem that requires comprehensive prevention and risk reduction efforts. The purpose of this community service activity is to improve the ability of the Darul Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School to stop and deal with sexual violence through methods based on Islamic values. Participatory Action Research (PAR) is used as a method to carry out service activities. Participatory Action Research (PAR) involves mapping the risk of sexual violence, making prevention strategies based on Islamic principles, creating standard operating procedures (SOPs) to deal with sexual violence, and socialization and assistance to pesantren residents. The results of the activity showed that risk mapping revealed structural and cultural factors such as a culture of silence, unclear power relations, lack of knowledge about self-protection, and the absence of a standard handling mechanism. By referring to Islamic values such as amanah, "iffah, justice, and maqasid al-shari'ah," pesantren gain moral legitimacy to protect students. In addition, standard operating procedures (SOPs) provide clear and organized guidelines for handling cases of sexual violence. Increasing literacy and awareness of pesantren residents, improving institutional performance, changing perspectives on sexual violence, and empowering students as subjects of self-protection are the results of these activities. This activity shows that incorporating Islamic values into the institutional system can help create a safe, dignified, and just pesantren environment.
