Abstract

Tumbuhan sintrong (Crassocephalum crepidioides) merupakan tumbuhan gulma yang tersebar di wilayah tropis Asia, termasuk Indonesia. Selain dimanfaatkan sebagai sayuran, sintrong juga dapat digunakan sebagai bahan obat tradisional. Senyawa yang terdapat dalam tumbuhan ini yaitu flavonoid, polifenol, saponin dan tanin. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui adanya aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun sintrong (Crassocephalum crepidioides) pada Salmonella typhi. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan metode difusi cakram. Ekstrak daun sintrong diperoleh dari proses maserasi dengan etanol 70% dan dilakukan skrining fitokimia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak etanol daun sintrong positif mengandung senyawa polifenol, flavonoid, saponin dan tanin. Hasil uji KLT juga menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun sintrong positif mengandung flavonoid dengan adanya bercak kuning kehijauan setelah disemprot dengan larutan AlCl3, dengan nilai Rf 0,38 ; 0,82 ;dan 0,92. Adapun diameter daya hambat menunjukkan hasil pada konsentrasi 10% dengam rata-rata ± 9,82, pada konsentrasi 30% dengan rata-rata ± 10,82 serta kontrol positif dengan rata-rata ± 8,87. Sedangkan untuk analisa data menggunakan one way Anova diperoleh hasil bahwa probabilitas signifikan sebesar 0.005 < 0,05, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak daun sintrong (Crassocephalum crepidioides) dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Salmonella typhi. Dengan hasil tersebut diketahui bahwa ekstrak daun sintrong konsentrasi 30% yang paling berpengaruh dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Salmonella typhi.

Abstract

Penyembuhan luka sayat pada kulit dipengaruhi oleh fase inflamasi, fase maturasi dan fase proliferasi.Daun eceng gondok dan daun seledri ialah salaha satu tanaman yang dapat menyembuhkan luka karena kandungan flavonoid, saponin, tannin.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui uji aktivitas kombinasi ekstrak daun eceng gondok (Eichhornioa crassipes) dan daun seledri (Apium graveolens L.) terhadap luka sayat pada mencit (Mus musculus).Metode ekstraksi penelitian menggunakan ekstraksi dan pelarut etanol 70%.Uji yang dilakukan uji bebas etanol, uji skrining fitokimia, uji kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT), dan pengujian luka sayat menggunakan mencit yang dilukai.

Abstract

Indonesia, which is famous for its rich flora, stores various plants that can be used as medicine or decoration. Flavonoid compounds in several studies have been reported to trigger stimulants in the heart, allowing the flavonoid compounds in frangipani leaves to be used as a tonic effect. Objective: This study aims to determine what is the most effective dose of either 3.5g/KgBW, 5.25g/KgBW and 7g/KgBW of frangipani leaf extract (Plumeria sp.) when used as a tonic in male mice (Mus muscullus). ), and to find out how the effect of giving the dose variant compared to the positive control (caffeine) and negative (CMC 0.5%) gave a tonic effect on the length of time swimming in male mice (Mus muscullus). Methods: This study used the swimming test method which was carried out on male mice treated with 0.5% CMC as a negative control and caffeine as a positive control. Then look at the time on the swimming endurance of mice. Results: This study showed that the treatment group of frangipani leaf ethanol extract at a dose of 3.5 g/Kg BW, 5.25 g/KgBW, and 7 g/KgBW had an increase in the swimming survival time of male mice from before the test solution was administered. The most effective dose is 7g/KgBW which has an average swimming time of 8 minutes 9 seconds which is almost close to the average swimming time of caffeine as a positive control of 10 minutes 5 seconds. Strengthened by the SPSS test which has a significance of 0.00 which indicates the effect of dosing on the swimming time of male mice (Mus muscullus).

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder that occurs due to destruction of pancreatic ? cells characterized by blood glucose levels that exceed normal limits. The purpose of this study was to determine the therapeutic effect of the combination of water hyacinth leaf extract and Sintrong leaf in reducing blood glucose levels in alloxan-induced experimental animals. Water hyacinth leaf powder and Sintrong leaves were extracted using the maceration method with 70% ethanol as a solvent. A total of 25 mice were divided into 5 groups, namely negative control CMC-Na 0.5%, positive control glibenclamide 0.00065 mg / g BW, water hyacinth leaf extract 17.5 mg / kg BW, Sintrong leaf extract 10.5 mg/ kg BW and a combination of water hyacinth leaf extract 17.5 mg / kg BW and sintrong leaf 10.5 mg / kg BW. The results showed that a single extract of water hyacinth and Sintrong leaves was able to reduce blood sugar levels for 7 days. The combination dose was effective in reducing blood sugar levels with a combination dose of 17.5 mg/ kg water hyacinth leaf extract in combination for 7 days.

Abstract

Breast cancer is the most dominant type of cancer in Indonesia. Traditional medicine using tapak liman (Elephantopus scaber L.) as an anticancer becomes an option because it contains compounds such as sesquiterpenes. The purpose of this study was to know the cytotoxic activity of ethanolic extract of tapak liman on T47D cells through induction of apoptosis. The extraction method uses maceration with 96%. Total flavonoids were tested using quercetin as a spectrophotometric standard. ethanol solvent, cytotoxic test using microtetrazoliom (MTT assay), and apoptosis test using double staining test (ethidium bromide-acrydine orange) under a fluorescence microscope. The results showed the linear regression equation y = 0.0934x-0.0292 with the resulting flavonoid levels of 0.979% w / w calculated against quercetin (QE) The concentration of the compound used was 1000 µg/ml; 500 µg/ml; 250µg/ml; 125 ?g/ml, 62.5 ?g/ml; 31.25 µg/ml. The MTT assay results are the values of IC50 which are analyzed using probit analysis and apoptosis tests which are analyzed descriptively. The results of the research show that the ethanol extract of tapak liman using MTT method has IC50 value of 59 µg/ml, while the testing of double staining method shows the color of bright green which indicates early apoptosis and the color orange in the cells which undergoing final apoptosis. DNA fragmentation results shows that Tapak Liman extract induces DNA fragments. The conclusion of this study is that tapak liman textract has the potential for cytotoxic activity against T47D breast cancer cells through the induction of apoptosis

Abstract

Antioksidan merupakan senyawa yang berperan dalam menghambat oksidasi yang diperantarai oleh oksigen.Senyawa antioksidan ini memiliki peran yang penting dalam pertahanan tubuh terhadap penyakit, hal inidisebabkan karena senyawa antioksidan mampu mencegah pengaruh buruk yang disebabkan oleh radikalbebas. Daun melinjo ( Gnetum gnenom L.) memiliki senyawa saponin, flavonoid dan tanin dan alkaloiddiketahui bisa sebagai aktivitas antioksidan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adanyaaktivitas antioksidan pada daun melinjo dan dengan pembanding vitamin C sekaligus senyawa yangterkandung didalamnya. Daun melinjo akan di keringkan untuk dijadikan sebagai simplisia dan dibuat ekstrakdengan metode maserasi. Ekstrak daun melinjo akan di uji skrining fitokimia untuk memastikan senyawa yangada didalamnya. Larutan ekstrak akan diuji dengan ditambahkan larutan DPPH untuk mengetahui nilaiabsorbansinya dengan menggunakan spektrofotometri. Sebagai kontrol positifnya adalah vitamin C yangdiperlakukan sama seperti sampel ekstrak dengan ditambahakan larutan DPPH dan dimasukkanspektrofotometri untuk mengetahui nilai absorbansinya.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Tingkat kesadaran masyarakat akan bahaya produk kosmetik berbahan kimia membuat mereka cenderung lebih memilih produk yang berasal dari bahan alami yang aman di kulit. Blush on dari bahan alami merupakan blush on yang dibuat dengan mencampurkan bahan alami sebagai pewarnanya. Salah satu tanaman yang berpotensi sebagai pewarna dalam pembuatan blush on adalah tanaman melinjo yang diambil kulit dari ekstrak kulit buah melinjo. Tujuan: Mengetahui warna yang dihasilkan oleh ekstrak kulit melinjo dan mengetahui formulasi ekstrak kulit melinjo dalam pembuatan sediaan blush on cream. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen demi mengetahui uji kualitas fisik meliputi; uji organoleptis, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji poles dan uji kesukaan. Hasil: Penelitian yang didapat telah memenuhi persyaratan yang baik. Konsentrasi beeswax yang terlalu tinggi membuat konsistensi sediaan meningkat. Kesimpulan: Formulasi sediaan blush on cream kulit melinjo telah memenuhi syarat uji mutu fisik dan dapat digunakan untuk sediaan tersebut.

Abstract

Arcangelisia flava Merr, which has been known empirically by the Dayak community in Central Kalimantan as natural herbs. This study aimed to determine the antibacterial effect of the Arcangelisia flava Merr extract against Escherichia coli. This study used two concentration of 25% and 50%, Ciprofloxacin as a positive control and water for injection as a negative control. The existence of the effect of the Arcangelisia flava Merr. extract against bacteria Escherichia coli is characterized by the formation of inhibition zone at a concentration of 25% obtained by the mean 2,005 mm, concentration of 50% obtained by the mean 2,435 mm, positive control obtained mean 7,975 mm, while for the negative control has no effect on Escherichia coli. The results showed that the Arcangelisia flava Merr. can significantly inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria. And there was the tendency of an increase in the concentration of Arcangelisia flava Merr. The higher concentration of Arcangelisia flava Merr. Extract the higher the resulting inhibit zone.

Abstract

The trunk of the kepok banana tree contains flavonoids that have activity as a sunscreen that can protect the skin from the adverse effects of UV rays. This study aims to formulate and determine the SPF value of the cream preparation of banana kepok tree tree extract (Musa paradisiaca L) which meets the requirements of good physical quality as a sunscreen. The method used is experimental research consisting of making maceration method extracts with 70% ethanol solvent. The resulting extract is formulated with a cream base formula with extract concentrations of 30% and 40%. The study was analyzed using ANOVA test and SPSS software. The results showed that the formulation of sunscreen cream extract of banana kepok tree trunk extract (Musa paradisiaca L) with concentrations of 30% and 40% showed good physical quality with the effectiveness of SPF at concentrations of 30% and 40% was 3.1 and 4.7 in the moderate protection category without any reference or formula. Based on the results of the article's research, it was concluded that the extract of the banana kepok tree trunk (Musa paradisiaca L) which was formulated as a cream has good physical quality as a sunscreen and based on the ANOVA test, one factor showed a difference in concentration affecting the SPF value obtained.

Abstract

Dandruff is one of the problems that cause a lack of confidence. The triggering microorganism is Candida albicans. The innovation in the skin of red dragon fruit has the potential as an antibacterial and antifungal because it contains several active compounds such as alkaloids, terpenoids and flavonoids. This study aims to find out at what concentration the anti-dandruff activity on the growth of Candida albicans fungus in the formulation of dragon fruit peel extract shampoo preparation (Hylocereus polyrhizus). This research method is an experimental research using the disc paper diffusion method which consists of making dragon fruit peel extract with the maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent. The extract is formulated in shampoo with concentrations of 20.40 and 80%. The results of this study were in the organoleptis test in the form of a viscous liquid, soft sticky texture, brown and menthol flavor. pH test 6.13, 6.71, 6.39, 5.49. Test the height of the foam 5.8cm, 6.0cm, 6.5cm, 10.3cm. Viscosity test 500 Cp, 612 Cp, 635 Cp, 624 Cp. Homogeneity test is homogeneous. Anti-dandruff shampoo activity test of kontro (+), control (-), concentration of 20%, 40%, 80% with an average of 21.95 mm, 0.00 mm, 22.9 mm, 26.07 mm, 28.52 mm. The conclusion of this study is that the formulation of dragon fruit peel extract shampoo (Hylocereus polyrhizus) has provided an inhibitory effect on the growth of Candida albicans fungus with the strongest inhibitory concentration produced in formulation III with a concentration of 80% of 28.52 mm.
