Abstract

Sebelas pola berbeda jaring-jaring kubus tidak dikenali sebagian besar siswa (Shadiq, 2006). Pembelajaran jaring-jaring kubus dikenalkan dengan suatu media yang berbentuk kubus. Media tersebut dipotong berdasarkan rusuknya sedemikian sehingga terbentuk satu jaring-jaring kubus. Untuk menemukan pola jaring-jaring kubus yang lain dibutuhkan media lagi yang serupa. Penggunaan media seperti itu kurang efektif untuk menemukan berbagai macam pola jaring-jaring kubus. Media kubus guling berwarna (meku-guwa) adalah salah satu alternatif untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Satu meku-guwa dapat menentukan berbagai macam pola jaring-jaring kubus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektivan penggunaan media kubus guling berwarna dalam menemukan pola jaring-jaring kubus. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 5 siswa kelas VII MTs Amanatul Ummah Surabaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 4 siswa dari 5 siswa yang berhasil menemukan minimal 5 pola berbeda jaring-jaring kubus dalam waktu 30 menit. Hasil ini memberikan arti bahwa penggunaan media kubus guling berwarna dalam menemukan pola jaring-jaring kubus efektif.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of mathematical reasoning in solving problems in cube and beam material in terms of independent and dependent field cognitive styles. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection method is carried out by the test and questionnaire method. The study was conducted by giving 2 written test items about solving cube and beam problems as well as a questionnaire of independent and field dependent cognitive style tests at the beginning and end of the study. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion / verification. The results of the study show: (1) the test results of students' mathematical reasoning questions with independent field cognitive style on cube and beam material are able to pass 4 indicators better than students with field dependent cognitive style; (2) the test results of students' mathematical reasoning questions with the field dependent cognitive style on the cube and beam material are only able to go through 2 lower indicators than students with independent field cognitive style.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze book errors in the material of Linear Equations and provide alternative solutions. The results of this study can be used as consideration in improving the book. This type of research is descriptive analytical research that describes a problem and the results are analyzed to find conclusions. The results showed that there were still some errors in the Junior High School Mathematics book for Linear Equations. These errors are spelling and writing errors, computational errors, problem errors and conceptual errors. The error is then given an alternative solution for further book development.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the metacognition of XI grade students of SMA Hasyim Asy'ari 1 Pucuk in problem solving of sequences and series of numbers in high, medium and low ability students. This research is a descriptive qualitative research conducted online using whatsapp social media. The research instrument is the researcher himself supported by written tests and interviews. The subjects of this study were six students consisting of one student with high ability, two students with moderate ability and two students with low ability. The results of this study indicate that students with high abilities have good declarative knowledge, procedural knowledge and conditional knowledge. Students with high abilities are also able to use good planning skills, monitoring skills and evaluation skills. Students with moderate ability have declarative knowledge, good procedural knowledge and good conditional knowledge. Students with moderate abilities are also able to use planning skills, monitoring skills well and do not have evaluation skills. Students with low abilities only have declarative knowledge. Students with low abilities also only use planning skills.

Abstract

Abstract

This research is based on the findings of researchers about the students’ difficulties in the triangle material. Triangle material has been introduced since the elementary school level but what is different is the level of difficulty, triangle material in class VII MTs has led to abstract knowledge. This study aims to identify the difficulties of grade VII students in the triangle material and efforts to overcome them. Qualitative method accompanied by a descriptive analysis approach is the method used in this study. Sources of data taken were class VII mathematics teachers and students. The sample used was 25 students who were then asked to work on test questions. After that grouped based on the level of student ability. The result of this research is that students with very low and low ability criteria cannot understand questions, give reasons, and apply numbers. Efforts to overcome them are scaffolding, increasing self-confidence, giving assignments, class contracts, using appropriate media and methods. Students with sufficient ability level criteria have not been able to solve questions and explain answers. Efforts to overcome this by giving additional assignments, scaffolding and provoking questions. Students with high criteria have not been able to solve questions and are less thorough. Efforts to overcome this by giving additional assignments, scaffolding and asking students to be more thorough. Students with very high criteria have not been able to complete the questions on time. The solution is to give additional tasks to be more skilled.
