Abstract

This study conceptualizes entrepreneurship education and academic support as a moderator to understand the mechanism of the relationship between proactive personality and student entrepreneurial intentions. This study proposes a different proactive personality model as a variable influencing students' entrepreneurial intentions, with entrepreneurship education and academic support as a moderating variable. This influence model has never been studied, especially in Semarang. Some previous researchers tend to explore the influence of these factors separately. Observations from 192 students at ten universities in Semarang were used to test the hypothesized model. The study used a quota sampling technique and data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires. The effect moderation model was tested using tiered regression analysis, with the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) interaction test. The results showed that the effect of proactive personality and entrepreneurial intentions of students was stronger when entrepreneurship education and academic support were included in the interaction. These findings are consistent with existing theory and studies. In addition, as a managerial implication, this study provides advice to tertiary institutions as educational institutions to consider proactive personality, entrepreneurship education, and academic support as necessary factors to encourage student interest in entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship teaching methods should also be explored further.

Abstract

Housekeeping plays a vital role in the hotel business, exerting a major impact on client pleasure and loyalty. In order to stay competitive, hotels must constantly adapt to changing client expectations and the impact of technological improvements on operational processes. This study examines current developments and contemporary methods in hotel cleaning, with a specific emphasis on technology advancements, sustainability efforts, and guest-centered techniques. Robotic cleaners, fueled by artificial intelligence, transform cleaning procedures, while intelligent sensors offer up-to-the-minute data for operational enhancement. Artificial intelligence optimizes operational efficiency and customizes visitor experiences, resulting in improved productivity and customer satisfaction. Hotels showcase their dedication to environmental stewardship by implementing sustainability initiatives, such as the use of eco-friendly products and the adoption of waste reduction techniques. In addition, the use of energy-efficient technology and customized services enhances the satisfaction of guests while simultaneously decreasing operational expenses. The implementation of health and safety protocols, specifically in relation to COVID-19, places utmost importance on the welfare of both staff members and visitors. Hotels may improve their operational efficiency, increase visitor pleasure, and show their dedication to sustainability and staff well-being by adopting these trends and using new approaches.

Abstract

This study assesses the efficiency and effectiveness of the room attendants working in the housekeeping department at Hotel Puri Garden Semarang. The cleaning department plays a crucial role in upholding the cleanliness standards of the hotel and has a substantial impact on client satisfaction and the hotel's reputation. The study examines the elements that influence the performance of room attendants, with a particular focus on the impact of technological improvements, environmentally friendly practices, and staff well-being. Data were gathered using a qualitative descriptive approach, employing interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and direct observation. The results emphasise the significance of directly observing, obtaining feedback from guests, conducting frequent performance evaluations, and utilising staff surveys to evaluate and enhance the performance of room attendants. Analysis of performance data uncovers trends that suggest operational inefficiencies and shortcomings in training. The study emphasises the importance of thorough performance assessments in order to identify areas for development and conduct focused training interventions. Suggested areas for further research encompass investigating the enduring effects of adopted improvement methods, examining the correlation between staff happiness and performance outcomes, and analysing the role of technology in optimising housekeeping operations. The study asserts that adopting a multidimensional strategy is crucial in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of room attendants, which in turn results in increased visitor satisfaction and improved hotel performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of heritage attraction and tourism facilities on the intention to revisit the Old City of Semarang. The method used is a quantitative survey, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents. The results of the multiple regression analysis indicate that both heritage attraction and tourism facilities have a positive and significant impact on the intention to revisit. The heritage attraction, which includes aspects of architecture, history, and local culture, successfully captures the interest of visitors, while adequate tourism facilities contribute to a pleasant travel experience. This research provides recommendations for managers and local governments to enhance the quality of facilities and maintain heritage preservation, thus increasing the intention to revisit. The novelty of this research lies in the joint analysis of both variables in the context of heritage tourism in Indonesia.

The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The informants consist of traditional leaders, local tourism actors, village government officials, and representatives of the general community. Abstract

Jamalsari Village has rich local potentials, including natural tourism, agriculture, and traditional culture. Unfortunately, these potentials have not been optimally managed, and as a result, they have not significantly contributed to the community’s welfare. In response to this issue, a community service program was conducted with the goal of empowering the residents in developing tourism and creative economies based on local potentials. The approach used was participatory, where the community was actively involved in every stage of the activity, from identifying potentials and problems to training, mentoring, and evaluating the outcomes. Key activities in this program included training local tour guides to enhance residents' capacity in welcoming tourists, homestay management training as a form of community-based accommodation, and training on processing local products such as cassava chips and opak (crispy rice cakes). In addition, the community was encouraged to utilize social media as a promotional tool for products and tourist destinations. The results of these activities showed an increase in the community’s capacity and awareness in managing the village’s potential. The establishment of the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) became one of the success indicators, where this group actively managed tourism activities independently. Furthermore, several prototypes of creative economy products have been successfully produced and widely recognized through digital promotion. This program successfully encouraged active participation from the community in promoting and managing the village as a local wisdom-based tourist destination. The success of this initiative shows that community empowerment oriented towards local potential can be an effective and sustainable approach, with the potential to serve as a replicable model for other villages with similar characteristics. Additionally, with this program, the community began to have a better understanding of the importance of environmental sustainability and cultural preservation in tourism development. This program also opened new opportunities for improving the residents’ economy, creating jobs, and reducing dependence on less sustainable economic sectors.
